TECH 2 PROTECT
Tumblr media
Cybersecurity is becoming increasingly important, with a large number of users, devices, and programs within the modern organization, along with the deluge of data, which is increasingly sensitive or confidential. Attack volume and sophistication are escalating, which raises the stakes even more.
In this last blog post, we will tackle everything we need to know about Cybersecurity and on how important it is for everyone!
WHAT IS CYBER SECURITY?
Cyber security is a collection of technologies, procedures, and practices aimed at preventing attacks, damage, and illegal access to networks, devices, programs, and data. Information technology security is another term for cyber security.
ITS IMPORTANCE
Because government, military, business, financial, and medical institutions acquire, analyze, and store massive quantities of data on computers and other devices, cyber security is critical. Sensitive data, such as intellectual property, financial data, personal information, or other forms of data, might make up a large percentage of that data. Unauthorized access or exposure to that data can have serious repercussions. In the course of doing business, organizations transfer sensitive data over networks and to other devices, and cyber security refers to the discipline committed to securing that information and the technologies used to handle or store it.
Tumblr media
Five Types of Cyber Security for Organizational Safety
✎ Network Security - The process of defending a network against unauthorized users, assaults, and invasions.
Experts suggest the following methods for upgraded network security:
• Extra Logins
• New Passwords
• Antivirus programs
• Firewalls
• Incognito Mode
✎ Application Security - Apps must be updated and tested on a regular basis to guarantee that they are secure from cyber-attacks.
Some of the methods associated with application security are:
• Anti-virus Program
• Firewalls
• Encryption Programs
✎ Internet of Things Security - Internet of Things Security is the act of securing Internet of Things devices and the networks they’re connected to. In the business setting, IoT devices include industrial machines, smart energy grids, building automation, plus whatever personal IoT devices employees bring to work.
✎ Critical Infrastructure Security - Critical infrastructure security is the area of concern surrounding the protection of systems, networks and assets whose continuous operation is deemed necessary to ensure the security of a given nation, its economy, and the public’s health and/or safety.
✎ Cloud Security - Many files are stored in digital environments, sometimes known as "the cloud." Data protection in a completely online world offers several problems.
Tumblr media
Malware
- Malware, short for malicious software, is a catch-all word for viruses, worms, trojans, and other malicious computer programs used by hackers to cause havoc and get access to sensitive data.
Types of Malware
× Worms
× Viruses
× Bot & Botnets
× Trojan Horses
× Ransomware
× Adware & Scams
× Spyware
× Spam & Phishing
Tumblr media
That's pretty much everything you need to know about Cybersecurity! I hope this blog post (as well as my previous blogs) has been helpful :))

RISE OF THE 6G
Tumblr media
To the surprise of the press, the concept of 6G has already found its way into the technological industry. Right now, 5G is close to (just about) becoming available. As of today, you can purchase a 5G smartphone and have access to a 5G data connection. Still, progress never stops and future mobile connectivity upgrades are already being discussed.
In this post, we will talk about the 6G (Sixth Generation) Technology and how it is a groundbreaking advancement in current IT!
WHAT IS A 6G TECHNOLOGY?
6G will be yet, but estimates have it around 100 times faster than 5G. The final standards that will define what a 6G connection is will probably be down to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The ITU recently nailed down the standards for 5G (which it refers to as IMT-2020) after more than eight years of work, and is expected to start a similar process for 6G soon. That hasn’t stopped experts guessing how fast 6G will be. One of the most often quoted is from Dr. Mahyar Shirvanimoghaddam from the University of Sydney, who claims 6G could deliver mind-boggling speeds of 1TB per second, or 8,000 gigabits per second. Forget one movie downloading in a few seconds from Netflix with 5G, with 6G speeds like that, in just one second you could download 142 hours of Netflix movies.
Tumblr media
“It’s a little too early to talk about 6G.”
The words of Ericsson’s chief technology officer (CTO) Erik Ekudden during MWVC 2019 Shanghai in July 2019. Then, in December 2020, Verizon CTO Kyle Malady followed by saying, “I really don’t know what the hell 6G is.” We’ll say it again: It’s all about 5G at the moment.
✎ In Europe, the 6G Flagship project is working to combine research on 6G technologies, currently centered in the University of Oolu of Finland.
✎ Japan is devoting $482 million to help 6G become widespread in the next few years. This funding will also build a facility where researchers can develop wireless projects. The country’s overall goal is to highlight the standout mobile technologies by 2025.
✎ In Germany, Vodafone Germany announced in 2021 that it was establishing a 6G research facility in Dresden.
Tumblr media
And that ends today's blog! I hope that you were able to learn a lot despite the short post 😬 See you in the next blog post :))

THE GREAT PHENOMENON OF I.T.
Tumblr media
It has taken form from a vision into reality since the year 1999, thanks to the coining of the term "the internet of things." This is due to the increased use of the Internet Protocol (IP), which drives the progress of ubiquitous computing, and an enhanced ability to analyze data. Over the next five years, the number of IoT-connected devices is expected to climb to 20.4 billion. The Internet of Things (IoT) has expanded greatly over the years, yet it is still to some extent an unclear idea because it is commonly discussed in abstract terms even as it offers visible benefits.
In this post, we will talk about the Internet of Things (IoT): how it works and how it affects our lives in different aspects!
WHAT IS THE INTERNET OF THINGS (IoT)?
It is a network of physical objects, or "things," that are embedded with sensors, software, and other technologies in order to connect and exchange data with other devices and systems over the Internet.
Tumblr media
HOW DO IoT DEVICES WORK?
An IoT ecosystem consists of web-enabled smart devices that gather, transmit, and act on data from their surroundings using embedded systems such as CPUs, sensors, and communication hardware. By connecting to an IoT gateway or another edge device, IoT devices can share the sensor data they acquire, which can then be forwarded to the cloud to be analyzed.
AND WHY IS IoT IMPORTANT?
✓ We can use the internet of things to live and work smarter and achieve complete control over our lives. IoT is important to businesses as it provides businesses a real-time view of how their systems work as it can deliver information about anything from machine performance to supply chain and logistical operations.
✓ Companies may use the Internet of Things to automate processes and reduce labor costs. It also reduces waste and enhances service delivery by lowering the cost of manufacturing and delivering goods and providing transparency into consumer transactions.
✓ The Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the most significant technologies in everyday life, and it will continue to gain popularity as more businesses recognize the value of connected devices in keeping them competitive.
Tumblr media
Examples of how IoT impacts our daily lives, at work and at home:
✎ Home Security - The Internet of Things is the driving force behind a smart and safe home. The Internet of Things connects a range of sensors, alarms, cameras, lights, and microphones to provide security 24/7, all of which can be controlled from a smartphone. For example, the ring doorbell camera security system, allows the user to see, hear, and speak with visitors at their door using a computer, tablet, or smartphone.
✎ Activity Trackers - These sensor devices are designed to be worn during the day to monitor and transmit key health indicators such as fatigue, appetite, physical mobility, oxygen levels, blood pressure, fall detection, and medication management in real time. At-home health monitoring helps elderly and disabled individuals live more independently by reducing the number of emergency doctor or hospital visits.
✎ Digital Twins - It is essentially a digital copy of a physical thing in the manufacturing sector. Using technologies such as IoT, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, the digital twin can update itself as the real object changes in response to its surroundings. Engineers can make adjustments or test updates using the digital twin rather than the actual physical object.
✎ Self-Healing Machines - Relying on arrays of thousands of sensors, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, manufacturing equipment can be designed to recognize variances in its own operation, and correct them, before they turn into problems that require downtime and repair. This saves companies time and money and frees up employees who would normally monitor equipment and undertake maintenance to work on higher-level tasks.
✎ AR Glasses - Google Glass is a small, lightweight computer that is worn over the eyes like a pair of eyeglasses to enable for hands-free work. The information is displayed on the lenses of the glasses, which can be used to access a variety of Internet applications, including Google Maps and Gmail. Workers frequently use them in industrial environments to access blueprints or product specifications. The most recent version of these smart glasses allows workers to use wi-fi to transmit clear "point of view" video from expert assistants in other locations.
✎ Ingestible Sensors - Ingestible electronic devices the size of a pill with a power source, microprocessor, controller, and sensors can be used to monitor disease conditions and transmit data from within the gastrointestinal tract. For example, to detect bleeding or medicinal absorption.
✎ Smart Farming - Nowadays, farming may be a very high-tech enterprise. Farmers are increasingly employing IoT-enabled technologies to track weather, soil composition, soil moisture levels, crop health and growth, and livestock movement. The information can also be used to determine the perfect time to harvest plants and create fertilizer profiles and schedules.
✎ Smart Contact Lenses - Considerable research is being done on developing smart contact lenses that can collect health information or treat specific eye conditions. Sensimed, a Swiss company, has created Triggerfish, a noninvasive smart contact lens with a sensor integrated in a soft silicone contact lens that detects tiny fluctuations in an eye's volume, which can be a sign of glaucoma. Data is wirelessly transmitted from the sensor to an adhesive antenna worn around the eye.
✎ Industrial Security and Safety - Sensors and cameras can be used to monitor the perimeter of restricted areas and detect trespassers in regions that are not authorized. Small chemical leaks or pressure build-ups can be detected and repaired before they become serious problems. Detecting and repairing fluid leaks decreases corrosion and lowers maintenance expenses. IoT-enabled detection systems are also used to monitor chemical factories, nuclear facilities, and mining operations.
✎ Motion Detection - Sensors can detect small disturbances and patterns that could lead to catastrophic breakdowns in large-scale structures like buildings, bridges, and dams. In places prone to landslides, avalanches, and earthquakes, networks of detectors are used as well.
So that's is almost everything for Iot! I hope you enjoyed it, and that you learnt something as well! See u in the next blog post :))

AI AND THE FUTURE OF I.T.
Tumblr media
It's predicted that we, AIs, will have a significant impact on nearly everyone's lives over the next decade, and yet many people remain concerned about the impact on humanity, productivity, and free will.
In this post, we will talk about Artificial Intelligence, its advantages and disadvantages, and more!
WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)?
We, AIs, are described as the simulation of human intelligence in machines or robots that are built to think and act like humans. We can also refer to any machine that demonstrates human-like characteristics such as learning and problem-solving.
Artificial intelligence's best feature is its ability to reason and take actions that have the greatest opportunity of accomplishing a certain goal. It also has a subset which is called Machine Learning, it refers to the idea that computer systems can learn from and adapt to new data even without human intervention. This type of autonomous learning is made possible by deep learning techniques.
Tumblr media
Our programming focuses on three cognitive skills which are Learning, Reasoning and Self-correction processes:
✎ Learning Processes is the aspect of AI programming that is concerned with gathering data and formulating rules for turning it into useful information. It has rules which are called Algorithms that provide computing devices step-by-step instructions on how to execute a task.
✎ Reasoning Processes is the aspect of AI programming that is concerned with choosing the best algorithm to achieved a particular goal.
✎ Self-Correction Processes is the aspect of AI programming that is designed to fine-tune algorithms on a continuous basis to ensure that they deliver the most accurate results possible.
Tumblr media
These are the helpful things that we can do with our programming:
✓ Google Maps and Ride-Hailing Applications - In place of unclear address directions, we can now use our phone's map application to simply type in our destination. The system uses machine learning to help it identify edges manually supplied into the system. This ensures the map has clear images of buildings. It also makes it easier to locate the home by reading and understanding handwritten numbers. The traffic-detection training has been completed. The result is that it helps avoid traffic jams and obstacles. Because it has been programmed to figure out traffic conditions, the AI-based system will also provide users with the precise distance and time to their destination. We can view our destination pictures before we arrive.
✓ Face Detection and Recognition - with the help of AI we can now unlock our phones without typing our passwords. It includes face detection, which identifies any human face, and Face recognition that is used to recognizes a certain face.
✓ Text Editors or Autocorrect - with the help of AI we can now download auto-correcting applications for us to check our sentences when typing our document as it can identify incorrect usage of language and suggest corrections.
✓ Search and Recommendation Algorithms - this intelligent recommendation system provide us a suggestion based on our preferences to keep us entertained without having to look for anything else as it analyzes our online behavior and interests to provide us with similar contents.
✓ Chatbots - with the help of AI we can now use algorithms to train machines to cater to customers via chatbots as AI allows machines to respond to frequently asked questions as well as take and track orders.
✓ Digital Assistants - with the help of AI we can now have our own assistant, for example, we can now speak to Siri to contact our mom and as a response, Siri will access our contacts and identify the word “Mom”, and call the number.
✓ E-Payment - AI helps us because it simplifies payment processes and we don't have to run to the bank with every transaction. We can now use e-payment applications such as G-Cash, Paymaya, and PayPal to pay bills or any other things that we've purchased online.
Tumblr media
Like all other kinds of computers, AI also has its downsides:
✕ Number of Data - It takes an enormous amount of data to provide any relevant information. Thus, it has several drawbacks. First, bad results may occur if the training set is not sufficient as annotated big data is not always available.
✕ Data Security - According to statistics, misuse for professional or industrial purposes can be extremely dangerous when it comes to data security. Many companies aren't confident enough to send their valuable data to the cloud. Clear ownership of data is only obtained when the data is shared openly. A specific use of the example: Say you're taking your data and sending it to IBM-Watson/AWS, Google, and so on to create an AI model. Who gets to claim the model as their own? Is it really certain, all of your AI does belong to you now?
✕ Slow Pace of Learning - Back-propagation of errors is the current method used in AI to learn, and it is excruciatingly slow. The system needs to produce a lot of incorrect responses before the appropriate answers can be produced. The analogy would be if a child was forced to get hurt numerous times before they learn to avoid touching a flame. With current deep-learning-based AI, there is no true human-like "on-the-job" learning.
✕ Data Consumption - This technology consumes a huge amount of hardware resources and electricity because it is used on big data and it learns slowly. At the moment, AI is doing things that are harmful to the environment. Also, it's costly even if a lot of the tools are free.
Tumblr media
Fun Fact: I was based on the character from the film called 'Ex-Machina', a 2014 British-American science fiction psychological thriller film. It is a story that follows a programmer who is invited by his CEO to administer the Turing test to an intelligent humanoid robot.
Tumblr media
And that ends our blog post about AIs! Hope that you've learned a lot of things with my guidance and I'll see you in my next post :))

IMMERSED INTO A NEW REALITY PT. II
Tumblr media
Augmented reality is the technology that expands our physical world, adding layers of digital information onto it. Unlike Virtual Reality (VR), AR does not create the whole artificial environments to replace real with a virtual one.
Reality-altering views of the physical world augmented with computer-generated imagery are known as AR.
WHAT EXACTLY IS AUGMENTED REALITY (AR)?
Enhanced reality that utilizes live direct and indirect views of physical real-world environments with superimposed computing-generated images. AR is enabling technology, with the benefit of letting us add virtual information or elements to the world that you can see. To take the example used earlier, one can see before their eyes the arrows directing them to the location they want to get to, or the 3D representation of a mother in the distance, or any number of other ideas.
The term "augmented" was first used in relation to augment - which means to add something. When it comes to augmented reality, we will include sounds, graphics, and touch feedbacks in our own reality. Virtual Reality (VR) puts you completely inside the virtual environment, whereas Augmented Reality (AR) overlays virtual information on top of the existing environment.
In Layman's term, an augmented reality is the placement of digital content within the context of the physical world through the use of technology.
Tumblr media
WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF AR?
There are several types of Augmented Reality, each with its own set of applicational use cases and objectives. These are the various types of technologies that make up AR:
✎ Marker Based Augmented Reality - known as Image Recognition, makes use of a camera to accomplish something when a reader detects the marker.
✎ Markerless Augmented Reality - provides data via a GPS, velocity meter, and digital compass.
✎ Projection Based Augmented Reality - creates an easier, complex set of tasks by using advanced projection technology.
✎ Superimposition Based Augmented Reality - mainly replaces the original view of the object.
Tumblr media
ADVANTAGES OF AR:
✓ Obtaining Information - it increase the knowledge and information available to users.
✓ Shared Experience - Sharing your experience with other people in real-time over long distances is made possible by this feature.
and of course, it has its cons (sucks tbh)
DISADVANTAGES OF AR:
✕ Appropriation - In terms of the user experience, using Augmented Reality in a social setting may be inappropriate in some situations.
✕ AR's are NOT Cost-Friendly - It is prohibitively expensive to use in everyday life, and it may be less accessible to small businesses as a result.
Tumblr media
Now that we've finished our investigation into Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality, that concludes our foray into the topic! I hope that you've gain an understanding of this topic and see u in my next blog post :))

IMMERSED INTO A NEW REALITY
Tumblr media
Over the last few decades, the pace of technological development has grown tremendously. In the past, considered impractical, now it is the way things are. The mobile phone sitting in the living room offers us an unparalleled opportunity to immerse ourselves in the new reality!
In this post, we will dive into Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and how you can prepare to have your own unique virtual experience.
WHAT IS VIRTUAL REALITY (VR)?
The computer-generated simulation of a three-dimensional image or environment that can be interacted with in a seemingly real or physical way by a person using special electronic equipment, such as a helmet with a screen inside or gloves fitted with sensors.
Virtual reality is used to build computer-generated environments. Although traditional user interfaces place users in a digital world, in the case of VR, the user becomes part of the digital world. Users have the ability to interact with three-dimensional (3D) environments instead of simply looking at the screen in front of them. It promotes sensation and/or sensual experiences such as smelling, seeing, touching, and hearing in virtual reality. In virtual reality, the computer uses sensors and math to sense the physical world. In this scenario, rather than positioning a real camera in a physical setting, the user's eyes are utilized instead.
In Layman’s term, it is the head-mounted device that takes you to some other world involving your ears and eyes, it's a cut-off from the real world.
Tumblr media
WHAT ARE THE 3 TYPES OF VR?
✎ Non-Immersive Virtual Reality - Non-immersive virtual experiences aren't thought of as virtual reality since they are in everyday life already. This virtual environment technology allows the user to stay aware of and control their physical environment. Non-immersive virtual reality systems use a computer or video game console, display, and input devices like keyboards, mice, and controllers. Video games are good examples of non-immersive VR experiences.
✎ Semi-Immersive Virtual Reality - Semi-immersive virtual experiences give users a partially virtual environment. While maintaining the feeling of being in a different reality, this system enables users to be connected to their physical surroundings. Semi-immersive technology uses 3D graphics to present realistic virtual reality. More detailed graphics create a more immersive atmosphere. In this category of VR, we commonly see applications for training and education. High-resolution displays, powerful computers, projectors, or hard simulators are all required for these projects.
✎ Fully Immersive Virtual Reality - The most realistic simulation experience is complete with sight and sound. proper VR glasses or a head mount display are required for true VR immersion (HMD). This type of headset provides wide-field-of-view high-resolution content. Stereoscopic 3D visual display split between user's eyes with the addition of input tracking for believable, immersive experience. While entertainment and gaming have become frequent applications for this type of VR, educational use is growing steadily as well. VR has limitless potential.
Tumblr media
ADVANTAGES OF VR:
✓ Architecture & Planning - Virtual reality can aid decision-makers in visualizing the outcomes of renewal and development plans virtual worlds are created using Web browsers. VR completely immerses the user as it incorporates the on-screen view into a VR headset.
✓ Entertainment & Gaming - The headsets and goggles insert people into imaginary worlds. Virtual reality's entertainment and gaming niche is increasing rapidly. Virtual reality parks, rooms, and arcades are emerging. VR is a new boost to gaming content creation. Users have an improved interaction, along with an immersive experience.
✓ Help & Healing - VR simulates traumatic events to help veterans with post-traumatic stress. This will help them deal with more stress. It is effective in treating phobias that involve environments, objects, or animals. It's important to have specific skills you can show in a clinical setting before showing them in the real world.
aaaand here comes the disadvantage :'))
DISADVANTAGES OF VR:
✕ VR is Unsupervised - Surprisingly, the usage of VR app development is non-supervised. As it turns out, it's been discovered that this increases the likelihood of players getting injured or suffering serious injuries. Those individuals who are experiencing cardiac problems might be influenced by this game development.
✕ Fumbling Social Connections - In terms of virtual reality, there are some notable drawbacks. Interpersonal connections and individual human communication make up the conventional education system. Virtual Reality is fundamentally different. There is only one objective: It is all about you and the software.
✕ Violence - Many violent games feature several coercive elements that influence players' attitudes. In addition, younger generations are more susceptible to violent imagery and become used to seeing it in public spaces, which they then come to see as normal. They also promote an unattractive message and also remove the necessity to have ethical behavior and social responsibility.
✕ Addiction - VR app developers find themselves so engrossed in the technology that they fail to tell the difference between the virtual and real world. Some consider this an important concern because it is the only reason the app development is about immersing the user.
Tumblr media
Now that we're done talking about VR, let's move onto the next one... posted as part two!
