Good Morning/Day/Evening Merlin Fandom, may we have your attention please?

Even though the Merlin fandom is by no means new, there is still new content being published by the dozens every week. However, many writers have reported a decline in feedback/kudos lately. We want to help out all of those writers; be they new or old, struggling on a WIP- or have an uncommon relationship preference. So for anyone who wants to give a huge thumbs up to the writers of the Merlin fandom, we have just the challenge for you.

Coming this November, we will launch Merlin Writer Appreciation Month. The aim of this month is for Merlin fans to show some lovin’ to fic authors of all ships and ratings - and in turn, to boost the morale and motivation levels of the writers.

Every week will have a different theme, all in the name of celebrating Merlin fanfiction. You can participate in a month-long comment bingo, as well as rec your favorite writers old and new.

Week One: Newbie Week (November 4th - November 10th)

Rec some lovely fics written by new writers! They deserve some recognition, and to be welcomed into the world of writing Merlin fanfiction.

Week Two: Rare Gems Week (November 11th - November 17th)

This week will be dedicated to those fics, young and old, that never got the comments they deserved!

Week Three: WIP Week (November 18th - November 24th)

There is nothing quite like the struggle of creating a successful WIP - and these writers put so much time and thought into their work. This is a week where we can appreciate and motivate these writers to keep doing what they’re doing!

Week Four: All Time Faves Week (November 25th - December 1st)

Lets rec our all time favourite fics. We gotta show some love to those who inspire us! 

If you’d like to participate and have just the fic that fits the theme, post it under the tag #MerlinWriterMonth2018 so we can reblog your recs. You can also leave us an ask with a recommendation. The more love we can spread, the better!

Merlin Memory Month 2018: Prompt Day 1- Path III: Emotion/mood- Kindness.

On their return, a welcoming party awaits them at the gate. Despite the exhaustion lining his face, Arthur gets off his horse and greets them all individually, the rest of the knights following suit.

At the end of the line, a little girl stands, nervously holding out a flower.

“What’s that?” Arthur crouches down.

“For our brave Prince!”

Arthur turns the girl around, weaving the flower in her braid, and whispers conspiratorially. “For Prince’s favorite girl.”

Later, Merlin crowds Arthur in a corner. “That was hot.”

“My astounding sword skills?”

Merlin shakes his head, kissing away Arthur’s smirk. “Your kindness.”

I’m limiting myself to Canon!Fics which I’m assuming is what you wanted. ((I’ve also written one called Laundry’s Hard Work (prequel to Fathom Me Out) complete with the Merlin Scar Diagram))

There’s also one that I can’t seem to find at the moment, but if someone knows it (or any other) let me know! Merlin/Arthur, established relationship (I think?) Merlin uses an enchantment to cover his scars, and one night he slips up and Arthur sees them, and demands Merlin never cover his scars again.

Hello Merlin fandom newbie! You’re not being rude at all! A lot of Merlin fics were posted on lj (the merlin fandom, when the show was running, was really between the transition from lj to ao3 popularity). But a lot of old lj accounts were purged by lj (or an author decided to take them down, and only keep a few on ao3). If the fic you’re looking for was on lj, and nowhere else, then I suggest trying the wayback machine. Otherwise I will have to say: I don’t have any pdfs, but I know some people have these fics saved. If so, please let me know so this person can get that pdf from you!

Ok, so I read this fic a while ago and I can't remember much about it. I do know that Arthur was an athlete and he was injured, and while in the hospital(?) he kept shouting Merlin's name. And that's pretty much all that I remember about it, but I would really like to find it again. Please and Thank you.

Hello anon! Another anon suggested maybe Game, Set, Match by ingberry which is a very good fic, but I don’t think it’s what you’re looking for. Could it have been There Are No Gays in Football by Malu_3 (Grainne)?

I’m sorry if this comes out blunt, but you really need to give a lot more descriptions than just the one scene (like was a footballer? were they together already? was it a long/short fic?) for me to find the fic. Be specific, even if you don’t remember much.

Hi, a friend recommended your blog to me since I am looking for fanfictions. It's not a specific one, but I'm rewatching Merlin rn and I was wondering if you (or any of your followers) know of a dark/evil merlin AU, where Merlin is convinced by Sigan to join him. Preferably with a happy end and Merlin returning to Arthur (slash or no slash, I don't mind) but that's not obligatory. I've had a quick look already but I didn'T find anything yet, so maybe there's someone out there who can help :)
