Currently attempting to write a prayer to Hermes regarding safe travels. I want to put little pictures of him and the prayer in our cars (mine and my husband's).
I think it sounds good, but any tips on how it's written before I commit to it?
"O, Hermes Pompaios,
Son of thunderous Zeus and Pleiade Maia,
Please look favorably on those who drive this car,
Keep them safe and sharp-witted,
Calm in stressful situations,
I praise your name as your guidance blesses thee.
If it so pleases the Gods, so it is."
(Kind of kicking my feet at the fact that I just wrote my own prayer 🙈)

Kitchen Witch Recipe: Cherry Breakfast Bars
I'm a sucker for cherry, so maybe I'm biased, but these are amazing. They take a little effort, so not something to fix in a hurry, but they are great to bake the night before. These are also vegan, so that's a little added bonus.
On the witchy side of things, cherries are great for love, or, if you prefer, lust. Almonds also lend a little spark of inspiration, while oats are great for beauty workings. Incorporate these into spellwork for those things, or as offerings to love deities.

Crust/Topping
• 1 ½ cup rolled oats
• ½ cup flour
• ½ cup light brown sugar
• ⅓ cup chopped almonds
• ¼ teaspoon baking soda
• ¼ teaspoon salt
• ⅓ cup coconut oil, melted
Cherry filling
• 2 ½ cups sweet cherries, pitted and chopped
• 2 tablespoons lemon juice
• 1 tablespoon maple syrup
• 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Directions
• Preheat oven to 350° F.
• Line an 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper and grease with coconut oil.
• In a large bowl, mix rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, almonds, baking soda, and salt. Pour coconut oil over the mixture and stir until the mixture is well coated.
• In a separate medium-sized bowl, combine the pitted and chopped cherries, lemon juice, maple syrup, and cornstarch. Mix well.
• Measure 1 cup of the oat mixture and set aside. Using your hands, spread the remaining mixture onto the bottom of the baking dish. Pour the cherry filling over the oat mixture, using a spatula to evenly spread and fill the corners. Evenly crumble the remaining oat mixture over the top
• Bake for 30 minutes or until the top begins to turn golden brown. Allow the bars to cool completely before removing from the pan.

How to Make Sun Water
You’ve probably heard of moon water — but have you ever tried making sun water? It’s warm, energizing, and a lovely way to invite confidence, clarity, and healing into your day.
What You’ll Need:
A clear glass jar or bottle (bonus points if it’s cute)
Clean water (filtered or spring)
A sunny day (morning or noon sun is ideal)
Optional: citrus peel, cinnamon stick, or gold-colored crystals (like citrine or sunstone — no water-soluble or toxic crystals!)
Intention — always. Even if it’s just “I want to glow.”
How to Make It:
Fill your jar with water. Speak or think your intention while you pour. Something like: “I invite the energy of the Sun to fill this water with power, clarity, and vitality.”
Place it in direct sunlight for 1–3 hours. You can set it on a windowsill, balcony, or garden. Morning sunlight is gentle and energizing. Midday sun is bold and potent.
Visualize the sunlight charging the water. Imagine golden light pouring into the jar, turning it into a liquid sunbeam.
Seal, label, or store it when done. Keep it in a glass container, in a cool place (but not for too long — sun water is best used within a few days).
How to Use Your Sun Water:
Splash on your face like liquid confidence 🌞
Add to your bath for radiant energy
Water your plants with it to share the joy
Use in spellwork for success, motivation, health, or solar deities
Sip a little (if you used drinking-safe ingredients and containers)
Pro Tip:
Don’t mix crystals unless you’re sure they’re water-safe (no selenite, pyrite, etc.).

For Menstruating Magical Folk
When your period comes at a very inconvenient time;
What the Fuck, Seriously, Now? Mocktail
Ingredients:
Red Raspberry Leaf Tea: Amazing for periods in general, but has correspondences of health, protection, and sleep.
(Tart) Cherry Juice: Anti-inflammatory, contains some amount of melatonin to help with cramps.
Rose Water or Syrup: (I'm partial to syrup here for sweetness) for healing and self-love.
Ginger: Boosts circulation, eases nausea, spiritual power
Sparkling Water
Optionally:
Honey, Agave, or Sugar: For sweetness, especially if you don't opt for Rose Syrup.
Mint: Energy, vitality, and protection.
Lemon Balm: I NEVER have this stuff on hand, but I'd use it for digestive relief and calming.
Kombucha, Hibiscus Tea, etc: Sub this in for the sparkling water. Add different things for different correspondences, or just for flavor.
Instructions:
Steep one strong cup of Red Raspberry Leaf tea, allow to cool to room temperature
Muddle any leaves you're using in the bottom of a cocktail shaker.
Add ice, tea, 1/2 cup cherry juice, rose water/syrup (to taste), optional sweetener, and a bit of finely grated ginger to your shaker.
Shake that bitch up! Throw all of your intention; some goddamn peace, a calm body, a quick menstrual cycle, shake it the fuck into that bitch. Really let it all out. Try not to throw rage and frustration into it, though, since you don't want to drink that back into your body. Be mad, just not at the drink.
Strain into a cup with ice, top with sparkling water, kombucha, hibiscus tea, etc.
Optionally, garnish with lemon, raspberry, or mint leaf for some fancy vibes.
Not angry or inconvenienced, just want a healing mocktail?
Make it stirred, not shaken. Stir in your intention instead of shaking, and you'll get a calmer drink.

🔮✨ DIY Pendulum & Mat: Make Your Own Divination Tool
I wanted to share this simple guide for making your own pendulum at home — no fancy tools, no expensive supplies. Just your intention, your creativity, and what you have on hand.
🌿 What’s a pendulum?
A pendulum is a tool used in divination. It can help you tap into your intuition, spiritual guidance, or the energy around you to answer yes/no questions or feel out a situation.
🌙 Make your own pendulum
Option 1: Use a crystal necklace
✔️ Grab any crystal necklace you feel drawn to, one with a heavier stone works best.
✔️ Cleanse it (smoke, salt, moonlight, water, whatever works for you).
✔️ Set your intention: “This pendulum will guide me with truth, clarity, and protection.”
Option 2: Wrap your own crystal (cord method)
You don’t need fancy jewelry wire, just cord, a crystal, and your intention.
🧵 How to Wrap a Crystal with Cord for a DIY Pendulum
🌿 What you’ll need:
✔️ A small crystal or stone (smooth sides help)
✔️ About 2 feet of cord (cotton, hemp, waxed thread, embroidery floss, fabric stretch cord, whatever you have works.)
✔️ Scissors
🌙 Step-by-Step Guide:
1️⃣ Cut your cord.
— Cut about 2 feet of cord (you can trim extra later).
— Find the center of the cord.
2️⃣ Position your crystal.
— Lay the crystal across the middle of the cord so the cord runs underneath it.
3️⃣ Tie your first knot.
— Bring both ends of the cord up along the sides of the crystal.
— Tie a tight double knot just above the crystal to secure it like a collar.
4️⃣ Create the crisscross wrap.
— Take one cord and wrap it diagonally across the front of the crystal.
— Take the other cord and wrap it diagonally across the back.
— Bring both cords to the top and tie a small knot to hold the crisscross in place.
5️⃣ Keep wrapping.
— Repeat the crisscross pattern, alternating front and back wraps.
— Each time you bring the cords up, tie a small knot at the top — this keeps it snug.
You’re making a little net that hugs the crystal. It’s okay if it’s imperfect, your energy is what makes it powerful.
6️⃣ Finish off.
— When it feels secure, tie both cords together at the top in a final tight knot.
— Attach this to a longer string, chain, or necklace (6-10 inches works well for pendulum use).
— Trim extra cord if you want.
✨ Optional:
Add beads or charms to the cord ends for extra personal meaning.
🌿 Mantra while wrapping:
With this cord, I bind my intention. This tool will guide with truth, clarity, and protection.”
🖤 Make a simple pendulum mat
— Draw a circle on paper, cardboard, or fabric.
— Mark points for: YES, NO, MAYBE, REPHRASE.
— Decorate with moons, stars, plants, sigils, whatever makes it feel yours.
⚠️ Final tips for using your pendulum
🌙 Cleanse it before use.
🌙 Hold it steady, and focus on your question.
🌙 Always thank your pendulum (and guides, if you’re working with them) after use.
🌙 Store it somewhere respectful — like your altar, a cloth, or a special box.
💫 Reminder
Your pendulum is a tool, you are the magic.
🕯️ How to Use Your Pendulum + Mat
So you’ve made your pendulum, now what? Here’s a simple guide to get started.
🌿 Before you begin:
✔️ Cleanse your pendulum (smoke, salt, moonlight, water, your choice).
✔️ Find a quiet space where you feel calm and focused.
✔️ Lay out your mat or mark directions on a flat surface.
🌙 Set your intention:
Before you start, hold the pendulum gently between your fingers. Close your eyes and say (or think):
“I seek clear, truthful guidance. Only positive, helpful energies may come through.”
🧭 How to ask questions:
1️⃣ Hold the top of your pendulum string between your thumb and forefinger. Let it hang still over the center of your mat.
2️⃣ Ask your pendulum to show you:
— What is yes? (Watch for the direction it swings.)
— What is no?
— What is maybe or unclear?
💡 Tip: The directions might be different for everyone — for example:
— Yes = back and forth
— No = side to side
— Maybe = circular motion
Take note of your pendulum’s unique signals!
📝 Using the mat:
🌙 Ask clear yes/no questions.
🌙 Watch how the pendulum swings — does it point toward yes, no, maybe, or rephrase?
🌙 Be patient — let it find its rhythm before jumping to conclusions.
🖤 Closing your session:
🌿 When you’re done, say “Thank you” to your pendulum (and any energies you invited).
🌿 Cleanse your pendulum again if you feel the need.
🌿 Store it respectfully, on your altar, wrapped in a cloth, or in a safe place.
🌸 Important reminders:
✔️ The pendulum is a tool, your intuition is what gives it power.
✔️ If the answers feel unclear, take a break and come back later.
✔️ You can always reset by cleansing and re-centering.
✨ Optional closing mantra:
“I close this space with thanks. The answers I seek will come in time. All energies may now depart.”

The Witch’s Midsummer: June 24th
This is not just a feast day. It is a threshold — where fire meets dew, and fate listens.
June 24th is the Day of Saint John — it is a sacred night for witches, lovers, and healers.
This is the day when herbs are at their most powerful.
Picked before dawn, while still wet with dew, they hold the sun’s strength, the moon’s whisper, and the breath of the spirits who walked the land the night before.
Mugwort, rosemary, rue, St. John’s wort, thyme, sage. Gather them in silence. Thank the earth. Let the dew kiss your fingers — that is the blessing.
This is the day when love is sealed.
It is said that those who fall in love or pledge themselves on June 24th will never part again. My ancestors did — and they stayed together until the end. A bond made today echoes through lifetimes.
This is the day of fire and water.
Bonfires were lit. Evil spirits were warded off. Wishes were whispered to flames or soaked in bowls of water and wildflowers. The veil is thin — the heart is loud — the earth is listening.
June 24th is a day for witches. To remember, to gather, to bless, and to love. The dew is sacred. The herbs are waiting. And if someone takes your hand today… you may never let go.

Friendly reminder to all my witchy and pagan friends and neighbors that Not Everyone Does Witchery The Same Way.
Not everyone will use components or methods or rituals in the same way. Not everyone subscribes to the same beliefs or traditions or even uses of common materials. Not everyone will do the same sorts of magic or consider the same things integral to their craft.
THIS IS NORMAL AND ACCEPTABLE.
No matter how long you've been studying or practicing or what your level of expertise is, you're going to have to accept that other practitioners will do things differently. It doesn't matter if it matches up with what you believe or what you've been taught. And rather than insisting on one's own infallibility or arguing over points of meaningless minutiae, a prudent witch will take the opportunity to learn something.
(Obviously, this does not apply in situations where one encounters bigotry or predatory behavior or misinformation/disinformation that could cause actual harm. But if you're going to argue with someone over whether the particulars of their craft work the way YOU think they should, you're wasting everyone's time.)
