“I don’t believe in ADD”

I’ve got ADD, I’ve been diagnosed and have been prescribed Ritalin for 7 years now and I don’t know, I just get really annoyed when people say they don’t believe in ADD and stuff. I Just stand there like “Is that so? That’s so interesting. I know, I love to take medication that ruins my appetite for 8 hours and pretend it influences my school marks by 30% or more. It’s so much fun to be called anorexic at school when people don’t see me eat. Sometimes when I run out of Ritalin I like to pretend to zone out in the middle of a complex mathematical explanation and fail all my tests just for the fun of it. It’s such a motivator to be called “stupid and “slow” you know? I’ve believed that ever since I was young. So yeah, no I don’t believe in ADD or the scientific brain structure between my brain and non-ADD folks’. But you know, I’m faking it all. I’m just stupid, thank you very much!”

I don’t remember any of my grade 1 or 2 years because I would zone my whole body into a different frikking universe with rainbows and fairies just because that’s how my brain worked. My teacher could snap her fingers in front of my eyes, calling name for 5 minutes before I realised that my friend sitting next to me was shaking m arm. Only then would I blink into existence completely oblivious to what was just said. As soon as I started my medication it worked bloody miracles.

So there.

“Just a scam made by doctors.” Sure, I buy the medicine, not my fucking brain you twat.

Statue of Liberty

Once we were learning about the statue of liberty in our French revolution main lesson and we were told to write up a page about her. But then one of my friends asked the teacher when she died and he gor a scattered response from the class that she hadn't died so then he exclaimed to me in genuine surprise "SHE'S STILL ALIVE???!!!" and I just lost it! I laughed for about five minutes and then laughed another six....
