Hi Alina! Your novel sounds really interesting. I'm curious why you decided to go with the title A Healing for the Birds? It has such a nice ring to it!
Hey, thanks for the ask! <333
So the title was the result of reverse-engineering from a title idea I got for a potential sequel (I will not say that title in this ask [maybe in messages if you are curious], it is quite suggestive of what could happen), which I got while doing a lab report!
I went with this title because it alludes to two of the core parts of the wip; healing (the main property of the Allaitri Chalice), and birds (a key symbol/motif that is very prevalent throughout the story). And thanks for the compliment too! <3

Happy STS! What kind of handwriting does your OC have?
Hi, Charlie! Thank you dear for the ask and I wish you a happy STS as well!
Ulfrika has quite a neat handwriting alhtough it can be really hard to read her writing as the letters tend to be really thin, narrow and sometimes too close to one another.
Mar's handwriting is much different from her sister's as she wasn't properly taught how to read or write. And although Wukong taught and helped her train, it was in her adulthood so the letters, despite hints of elegance, can be still slightly shaky and/or stretched.
Xue writing tends to be very small as in what a normal person would write on two pages, she manages to put it on half of a ppage. Despite being so tiny, the letters (or characters) have rather round edges and their overall shape is sort of oval or round.
Vivienne is pretty much the opposite of Xue and has really big letteres. Not big, but B I G. Also, she draws small hearts instead of a full stop at the end of each sentence.
Kogar has a similar writing to Ulfrika, however his handwriting lacks his daughter's refined strokes.

Happy STS! Your characters are going to a local celebration (fair, music festival, art show, etc.) What is it? How do they enjoy themselves?
Hello, Tori! Thank you for the STS ask and happy STS to you as well (although a lot later, sorry)!
I'll answer this with Vivienne, Xue and Hao-Yu:
Viv - she's at the bar chasing all the tequillas and enjoying herself while flirting with the bartender (seduced bartender = free drinks and snacks for everyone). She'd be also trying to do the karaoke but she's not as good as she likes to think
Xue and Hao-Yu - They'd be trying to do some fun activities together while trying not to appear as if they're on a date together (they are into each other but they're too shy to say it outloud). Xue drags Hao-Yu to a fortunteller and he later wins a plushie for her at another stall (he actually won all the plushies for her and even some snacks for her cats)

The moment I started having more free time and doing actually good as in coming back to writing and making new posts I'm hit by what seems to be a cold.
I miss those times when I was able to breath through both my nostrils...

For those of you writing about secondary fantasy worlds, do you assume the sun rises and sets at the same time as your country, or have you planned/accounted for that?
The reason I'm asking is because I realised my setting's sun rise/set times were the same as Ireland's 🤣 (here, the sun rises at around 5am and sets at almost 22:10 for the summer solstice, and we get long days for a good few weeks before and afterwards)

OC Deep Dive Tag Game
Thanks you a lot @queen-tashie for the tag!^^
Soft tags: @myhusbandsasemni @morganmaietto @rbbess110 @deanwax @ettawritesnstudies and an open tag for anyone else to join:)
I'm choosing Ulfrika since I haven't done much tag games involving this asshole, hehe
What common/uncommon fears do they have? Ulfrika is very scared by the sea (and in general vast abandoned places) because it reminds her of the concept of eternity and somthing endless, a thing that's tied to her immortality. This is the fear she admits anytime, however, her another fear she doesn't like to speak of is being left alone just like her younger sister Márgerdra. Unlike Mar, Ulfa learnt how to live with the possibility of being abandoned although it still unnerves her.
Do they have any pet peeves? I'm not sure whether this counts as a pet peeve in general but she definitely can get on people's nerves the longer she is with them. That being said, Ulfrika can be quite a clean freak and hates things being disorganised to the point she even started arranging her temporary superordinate's office. She's also a (heavy) smoker BUT she has a hard time smoking the regular cigarettes you can get in a kiosk (she prefers her own home-grown herbs).
What are 3 items you can find in their bedroom? Her mask, a container with her father's bones and a toy belonging to her dog(s).
What do they notice first in a person? The walking pattern and hand gestures. Ulfrika always looks out for those to get some clues about a potential enemy and where to attack the person if a fight happens. Also, the hand gestures help her analyse the person's behaviour pattern so she can either read through the person's plans or adapt some of those patterns to herself in order to blend within the society better.
On a scale of 1 to 10 how high is their pain tolerance? 11/10. She has a crazy high pain tolerance. I mean physical pain, the emotional one is a bit lower, around 8 or 9 (yeah she is cold as ice and usually doesn't care but if it comes from somebody she considers a family she goes b a l l i s t i c).
Do they go into flight or fight mode when under pressure? Fight. Papa Kogar didn't raise a quitter.
Do they come from a big family/are they a family person?  I don't think Ulfa's family is a big one, more moderate since there is/was four members (Ulfa, her two younger sisters and her father/master). She loves her family dearly but whether she would begin her own? Oh hell nah. She can't stand children, it's almost pure spite and hatred. BUT she got somewhat better when Mar had children of her own and Ulfa became an auntie (although she is that one very offputting aunt that tells all the scary shit to scare the children and takes pride in it... Later, she would also nickname her nephews and a niece as 'gowniaki' which means 'shitlings' in Polish; believe it or not, however, she still cares about them and would actually die in order to protect them). Plus she doesn't at all understand the romantic relationships which are not only an alien concept to her but they usually disgust her (as in when Mar and Wukong held hands or Mar pecked her husband, Ulfa would pretend to throw up to mock the gesture).
What animal represents them best? Probably a bat (who on Earth would've guessed, I know). She can be scary and although she prefers being solitary (like bats when they hunt), she loves being around her family and is sometimes very dependent on them due to the limited interactions with her surroundings.
What is a smell they dislike? Cologne. But like the strong kind. As in strong strong kind. The one that makes you feel you no longer have a nose. It's even worse for Ulfa because she has like twenty times more sensitive smell than humans. Rest in peace Ulfa's nose.
Have they broken any bones? All of them, several times.
How would a stranger likely describe them? One word: a ghoul.
Are they a night owl or a morning bird? Night owl. There's no such thing in Ulfa's dicitonary as 'good morning' except for the formal greeting.
What is a flavor they love and a flavor they hate? She loves that bitter chocolate taste but like in the extreme. Like, that high percentage where you have a feeling you eat sand instead of chocolate. On the other hand, she H A T E S ear wax... Yeah, she got ranked once by her collegues/friends who got her to taste it when they were having a 'guess the dish while blindfolded' competition once.
Do they have any hobbies? She likes playing cards, also hiking, walking her dogs, horse riding, reading and solving riddles and puzzles, swordsmanship, martial arts (she prefers box, Muay Thai and taekwondo the most) and *roll drums* video games. Wukong and Ulfa bonded the most on those since Wukong was in general a bit scared of horror games while Ulfa loved them! It's hard to believe, but since meeting Wukong and his younger brothers, Ulfa jumped on the train of having pranks as one of her hobbies (VERY unusual for a stoic like her).
Boom, surprise birthday party! How do they react to surprises? She accepts the greetings, grabs something to eat and drink (hey, it's for free, right?) and gets out in less than 10 minutes. She occasionally emerges from her cave (bedroom) to get more snacks but only when she has no other choice.
Do they like to wear jewelry? No.
Do they have neat or messy handwriting? Neat! (But still tough to read as the letters are pretty thin and usually very close to one another.)
What are the two emotions they feel the most? Hmm, this is a tough one because she usually has problems to feel anything or at least to describe what's going on on the inside. But I'm going with despair and disappointment. (I mean, she's a Slav through and through - you can only have chronic depression or be a chronic alcoholic and she got to he both.)
Do they have a favorite fabric? Not at all. Anything that is comfortable and pragmatical is her go-to.
What kind of accent do they have? She comes from the Wend tribes which are like the ancestors to the modern day Western Slavic nations (Poland, Czechia, Slovakia and Sorbs) so she has this strange accent that you know is like Eastern European or Slavic but you can't really tell which exact language it would be. But she's extremely good at faking accents and mimicing speech patterns so one day she sounds like she was born in Brooklyn and the other day if you're talking on phone with her, you're not sure whether you're talking to somebody from Singapore or it's just Ulfa messing with you. But yeah, her og accent is Slavic carrying the most of similarities woth Polish/Slovak accent with a hints of Eastern Slavic dialects (Eastern Slavic languages are Russian, Ukrainian, Belorussian and Ruthenian) and here and there she uses vocabulary from Serbian or Croatian language (hey, she travelled a lot, don't blame her for being all over the place, hehe).

Happy STS! What are your favourite mythologies that you’re writing about?
Hi, dear, and thanks for the tag! Happy STS to you as well!:)
It's Slavic, Chinese, Indonesian and Japanese, although the last one had to be cut out due to the timelines not making much sense. Hopefully, I'll get to add it once again in the future.

Funfact of the day: Xue bonded with Mar/Yaling so quickly because a) she was like the sister she always wanted and needed and b) Mar's blue eyes reminded Xue of her Siamese cat she used to own back in Shanghai (her father brought her the kitten from his business trip when she was a child)
