SPOILERS FOR BEAST YEAST CHAPTER 9 UNDER THE CUT
Just finished playing through chapter 9 and I have come to the conclusion that all the Ancients need to have a Beast that is their best friend that is not their soul jam counterpart. After seeing Eternal Sugars backstory, I have concluded that her and Golden Cheese would be the greatest duo of all time. You’re telling me that a queen that kept her subjects alive in a separate world for hundreds of years would not fully agree with someone that made a place where her cookies would never not be happy? I call bull. Maybe she wouldn’t agree with how extreme she went, but there would be some understanding there.
I can hear you asking me “What about the other ancients? Who would they be friends with?” And I hear your cries and I will answer you. Hollyberry and Mystic flour. Reluctant besties on Mystic’s part. I think it would be more that Mystic is trying to convince Hollyberry to embrace apathy and Hollyberry just wants a friend to do nothing with.
Next up, Pure Vanilla and Burning Spice. Maybe I’m biased because I’ve had those two on my team for forever, but I think a Burning Spice would find that someone who makes it that he can fight for as long as possible as well as harm other cookies for his benefit would be something to behold.
Next up we have Dark Cacao and Silent Salt. This is mostly because I can imagine them not having any conversation at all, but still understanding each other on a spiritual level. Also, both of them have big swords and they can bond over that.
Now you might think that White Lily and Shadow Milk would not get along because of the whole elder tree guardian beef they have, but I’ll do you one better. White Lily is a cookie that searches endlessly for more knowledge. And who used to be the Fount of Knowledge. That’s right, Shadow Milk Cookie. Those nerds would yap and yap about the end of Earthbread, accidentally (on White Lily’s part at least) bring about the end of Earthbread, and then stop the end of Earthbread from happening.
Anyway, that’s my TED talk.

Quick, everyone (only if you want to, no pressure)!
Let's put our phones down, take in a deep breath (as deep as you can), and exhale slowly! Let's drink some water and maybe open up our windows! Let's sit peacefully on our beds and close our eyes! Let's offer up a prayer to the gods (or a specific god) and tell them how much we love and appreciate them! Let's not log back into Tumblr until two days later!
Let's all take some time to decompress and find some love and comfort in the gods. 🧡

An altar for Hermes 🛐
🪽💌🪽💌🪽💌🪽💌🪽💌🪽💌🪽💌🪽💌
Hello there! Yes, YOU! the little hellenist reading this post! Have you been wanting to start taking your worship of Hermes a little bit more seriously? Because I have, and I have just the thing for you! Hermes is a trickster, but also a very fun, very intelligent god who loves his followers, and is more than willing to grant his protection and deliverance unto them! Wether you’re a lawless little anarchist like me who seeks his protection from the not always fair side of the law, a traveller or wanderer who is looking for some shielding and luck on the road against the backdrop of a big, scary world, or simply a mail carrier who sees the king of mail himself as an idol to be followed, allow me to offer some ideas on how we can craft a little altar space for the hectic and honorable Hermes!
———————————————————————
• STEP ONE: colors and cloth:
When it comes to the domain of color, there’s actually a lot of mixed opinions when it comes to Hermes, as he’s one of the only Olympians whose sacred colors are not really divulged explicitly. Some say that red and green are the colors traditionally associated with him, but I feel like most devotees I know or follow seem to associate him with blue, yellow, and orange. Therefore, any cloth, a base fabric or cloth, the first thing you’ll add to your altar as the base everything else sits upon, would probably be best suited in this color scheme! You also may want your cloth to have more character, and it never hurts to have some symbolism on your fabric, which I’ll get to shorty! You can usually find cheap fabric at craft and thrift stores such as Johanns, Value village, or other local shops!
• STEP TWO: dishes and vessels:
The next thing you’ll want to add to your altar are some of the larger, more utilitarian pieces you wish to decorate with, these can include things like tarot decks, teacups or plates to hold offerings, offering bowls, candles, or books. It is also a good idea to select bowls, dishes, and teacups that line up with the iconography and sacred symbolism of the god the altar is dedicated to. For example, in my altar to Freyja, I have a small teacup with strawberries on it to honor her favorite fruit in Norse mythology! For Hermes, there are a couple different common icons you can look for, these include ironically, strawberries as well, as well as hawks, feathers, coins, gold trimmed and detailed, or gold painted pottery, String instruments, and the Greek key pattern!
• STEP THREE: Idols and tributes:
Another important way to respect your altar and it’s god is to decorate it with Idols of them, like statues, sketches, or other artworks depicting them! You can also donate tributary items to the altar, such as little figurines or charms of things associated with them, for example, my Artemis altar has a small porcelain cat figurine, and my Freya altar has a guilloche heart trinket. In an altar for Hermes, perhaps a statuette of a cherub with a lyre or harp, or a figurine of a mail carrier, or of one of Hermes sacred animals like a cow or ram, would make an appropriate idol for your altar space?
• STEP FOUR: traditional offerings:
Some traditional offerings like food, drink, crystals, herbs, flowers, etc. are an important, and very easy offer to make to your altars, and can easily be placed in the vessels and dishes you keep on the altar space. These offers vary drastically and personally on the god associated with them, but I’ll list some examples that I think would be good fits for Hermes below!
🌸 Crocus, Hydrangea, baby’s breath
🫚 olive oil, myrtle, sandalwood, Saffron
💎 citrine, blue lace agate, blue topaz, Aquamarine, Pyrite.
🍗 strawberries, olives, honey.
🍷beer, milk.
• STEP FIVE: ICONOGRAPHY:
The final step to creating your altar is the use of divine iconography. These symbols, emblems, and motifs celebrate your gods lore, history, and sacred things. You can honor this by finding things donning the iconography associated with your god! For example, almost all of my altars utilize antique painted porcelain or ceramics in some way, I have a porcelain sugar dish painted with strawberries for Aphrodite, a tea plate with wheat sheathes for Demeter, and an antique English teacup with Lilacs painted on it for Pan! Some of the sacred symbols and depictions of Hermes included, but are not limited to: strawberries, olives, lyres, sandals, mail and postage insignia, crocuses, rams, hawks, and coins! Depictions of all of these things on porcelain, pottery, fabric, or otherwise or on their own, are great ways to make clear your altar is dedicated to Hermes!
———————————————————————
Now that you have your very own space to worship and to commune with the hectic, humorous, and helpful Hermes, use it! Talk to him about your travels, bid on him to protect you from your hijinks, legal or otherwise, pray to him to guide your packages safely to you, and to guide you safely on your journeys! Enjoy your new altar space, and may lord Hermes bless you with riches, protection, and travels!
If you like this post, and wish to learn more about the gods of Hellen, Hellenism, paganism, and much more, please consider giving me a follow! I post every single day :) have a blessed day. 💙🏛️

Celebration of the Fourth Ritual
You will need...
A candle
Incense (optional)
A way to write (pencil/pen, phone, computer, typewriter, etc)
An offering/libation
How to perform the ritual...
1. Light the candle (and incense if you're using it)
2. Recite the Orphic Hymn to Hermes
Hear me, Hermes, messenger of Zeus, son of Maia;
almighty is your heart, O lord of the deceased and judge of contests;
gentle and clever, O Argeiphontes, you are a guide
whose sandals fly, and a man-loving prophet to mortals.
You are vigorous and you delight in exercise and in deceit;
interpreter of all, you are a profiteer who frees us of cares
and who holds in his hands the blameless tool of peace.
Lord of Korykos, blessed, helpful and skilled in words,
you assist in work, you are a friend of mortals in need,
and you wield the dreaded and respected weapon of speech.
Hear my prayer and grant a good end to a life
of industry, gracious talk, and mindfulness.
3. Present the offering/libation
4. Sit down and write! Some ideas include...
Whatever is on your mind in the moment
Your worries
A creative story
Fanfic
Use a journal prompt
Create your own prayer to Lord Hermes
Create your own hymn for Lord Hermes
Poetry
5. Recite the Orphic Hymn again
6. Extinguish the candle (either extinguish the incense or let it burn down the whole way)
If you're unable to write things down for any reason, simply thinking it is just as effective.
There's no pressure to share, but if you'd like to you're free to submit what you wrote in the ask box/submissions!

Happy April 4th!
It's the fourth day of the fourth month - a time to celebrate Lord Hermes! Four is a sacred number for the god Hermes, and what day is better to celebrate him than the fourth day of the fourth month in the year? c:
Some things you can do to celebrate Lord Hermes today:
Say a good morning prayer, and greet Hermes; invite him to join you throughout the day!
Engage in random acts of kindness, especially towards strangers
Consume borrowed material online, specifically from shitty authors, directors, or similar
If you have any coins, leave a few in a public place where someone else can find and take them; leaving four coins would be especially great
Offer Hermes an energizing tea or drink; add honey if you can (and it wouldn't taste absolutely atrocious)
Offer Hermes baked goods, sweets, fruits, or a cooked meal; make something tasty for him
Write a poem about Hermes
Create or offer art to Hermes; can be of him, his sacred symbols, or something that reminds you of him
Give him something you found that reminded you of him, particularly if you encountered it that day
Take a walk, bike ride, hike, car ride, etc.; travel.to another location, even if it's not that far away
Go somewhere new, and explore around today, even if it's not that far away
Spend time playing with any pets you own; give your pets an extra treat today, if you can
Give more generous tips to waiters, waitresses, etc. today, if you can
Support a small business; spread the word about them
Treat a loved one to a meal or spend some time with them
Honor your ancestors; pay homage to the souls of anyone you love and miss
Write Hermes a kind or grateful letter, wishing him well
Decorate your Hermes altar with flowers (origami flowers count)
Write a story in honor of Hermes, even one about him (I encourage it to be kept respectful, obviously)
Watch your favorite comedy movie
Go see any local stand-up comedians
Go out of your way to help people today
Donate clothes, hygiene kits, or socks to a homeless shelter or outreach program nearby
Volunteer for any local causes you support, especially those dedicated to helping animal shelters, the homeless, immigrants (especially in the U.S. right now), or humanitarian efforts
Purchase a meal and/or groceries for a homeless person, if you can and know/see any
Practice divination, especially methods you struggle with
I hope you all have an absolutely lovely day! May Lord Hermes bless you with the best of luck today, if you wish him to. Praise be to Hermes! 🧡🪽🐏🐢

Khaire Altis! Any advice for building kharis?? I've been worshipping the theoi for over a year but I still as if we are not close, probably due to the fact that I don't worship consistently. Thanks in advance
Xaire, Anon!
When it comes to building Kharis, it isn't something that can be rushed. It takes time, and it has nothing to do with consistent worship. Here are some ways you can build Kharis without consistently offering things to them, and hopefully these are disability and neurodivergence-friendly.
Think about them. If you are walking past a flower stand, thank Queen Persephone for the Spring, Lady Demeter for the harvest, and Lord Pan for the nature they hailed from. If you are at the beach, thank Lady Aphrodite for the sea foam and King Poseidon and Queen Amphitrite for the waves. In the rain, thank King Zeus for fertilization and life. Simply think about them and thank them.
Talk about them. Educate others on the myths and nuances surrounding them. Tell people about the representation of Queer love and expression in some of the relationships of Greek Mythos, like Lord Apollon and Hyacinthus or Cyprus. Talk about the nuance of the relationship between Queen Hera and King Zeus. Talk about how important the home and hearth is to venerate and honor Lady Hestia. Talk about them.
Say Good morning and Goodnight. I built Kharis with Lord Apollon by saying good morning and thanking Him for pulling Helios across the sky every morning, and at sunset I'd say goodnight to Him and Welcome Lady Artemis with an esteemed "Good evening."
Pray to them. Pray to them and praise them, sing them hymns, or even just write them down whenever you remember to.
Write letters of introduction to them. I did this with Lord Hermes/Signore Ermetes recently to welcome Him into my practice on a deeper level. And He has been putting me into contact with a variety of Gods as of late - write the letter and pray over it, or leave it on an altar, or offer it to Lord Hermes to carry to the appropriate Divinity.
Listen to music that reminds you of them. Make them playlists. Write your own music in their honor. Music is an amazing way to express emotions and gratitude to the Theoi.
Dedicate parts of your routine to them. Things you already do in your day-to-day. If you're showering, or even just caring for your hygiene in the ways that you can, dedicated it to Lady Aphrodite as an act of self-care. Take your meds in honor of Lord Apollon and Lord Asklepios. Cook your meal in honor of Lady Hestia. Or rotate who you devote certain acts to. When I go to the gym, I cycle between offering it to Lord Ares, King Zeus, and Odysseus.
Dedicate your moments of rest to them. Thank them for the opportunity to rest and allowing it to be rejuvenating, or even for allowing a moment to catch your breath.
Simply talk to them. This can be more informal than prayer. Tell them about your day. Talk out loud, or think it at them. Something I do when I'm a bit frazzled in my room is, if an altar catches my eye, I say hello to the God whose space it is. If King Zeus's altar catches my eye, I take a moment to say, "Hello, King Zeus," and it calms me tremendously because I stopped to focus on one thing.
Position altars in spaces you visit frequently. If you cannot set up altars, mentally dedicate that space. I have Lord Apollons altar between my bed and desk. King Zeus's altar is next to my closet and on top of my dresser, and beside that is Lady Aphrodite's altar. I visit these spaces frequently, so I get to see them and spend time with them often.
Building Kharis does not have to be intimidating or time-consuming. It can be simple acts like these that show the Gods that you care, and that they occupy space in your brain. Thinking first about the Theoi shows that they are at the forefront of your mind. Letting them exist in your thoughts can be a simple way to build Kharis, as well. Do bigger acts when you can, of course. But don't feel like that is the only way to build Kharis. Worship is continuous. "Worshipping consistently" looks different for everyone. Recently for me, it has been thinking about them and keeping them in mind. Sometimes it's constant offerings and prayer when I have the capacity. Both are perfectly fine ways to worship.
This list was curated with the help of some of my friends, and I would like to thank them for assisting me. I am fortunate enough to be physically able, so without their assistance, I would not have been able to make such an inclusive list of methods. These are things they have done in their practice to accommodate themselves, and I am grateful that they worked with me to share these with you.
Xaire, Altis.

im a hermes devotee, of course i love to travel.
im a hermes devotee, of course i like to learn new languages (aka try a new one and forget about it sometimes).
im a hermes devotee, of course people think i have sticky fingers.
im a hermes devotee, of course i love to go on long car drives (bonus if i get to be a passenger princess).
im a hermes devotee, of course i love to talk about the duality and spirit he has (see various interpretations how he’s portrayed as either a more serious figure or a mischievous deity).
im a hermes devotee, of course i find a way to relate him to every small thing i do.
im a hermes devotee, of course im the chaos and calm of my friend group.
…
Tbh there’s more I can put and ngl I just wanna go on a fun rant about both Lord Arês and Lord Hermes but we will keep it simple for now. Also, I have no idea what this blog is, this is honestly just my corner on the internet where I let go. Might do another one for both do them but it’s so fun to see more worshipers out here.
May the Gods be with you!
