most people in the industry here know that saying idols were "street cast" is a cover-up for having wealthy parents or connections with the company to get in as a trainee. Yes, there is a small minority of genuine street casts but it's usually not the case.
source: idk yoy just hear this stuff from people in the industry. my boyfriend's uncle is a choreographer, his aunt is a stylist, and my ex professor was a music video director, all for big names like SHINee, Psy, VIXX, BTS, BTOB, etc.
