Since finishing the series I’ve kept thinking about Ophelia being a biased narrator. Being a reader, she was really quite observant in general, but still she managed to miss a good deal of detail during her adventures. How often could she have missed something as subtle as a lingering gaze, rosened cheeks, and the internal struggles of Thorn? Perhaps he really was that over worked as the Treasurer of the Pole, or perhaps he just found himself.. distracted more often than not.

Also it was just really fun to draw Thorn with such a expression as this lol

In my heart, I like to think Ophelia and Thorn found each other and managed to escape back to the real world. Maybe they’d get themselves a humble little apartment for a time, and enjoy some well deserved peace and solitude :’) Thorn, heartbroken at knowing he had a direct line to how Ophelia lost her fingers, would probably take every opportunity to be of aid to her when needed, and she to him when his leg bothers him.

(I really enjoyed making this piece, but I’ve sat on it for a while bc I haven’t been sure if it’s worth posting fbdbdb. Thot the idea was cute but after drawing it something doesn’t feel right, pls feel free to comment if u spot anything. Maybe it’s bc Ophelia isn’t wearing her glasses? Maybe their dynamic here feels vaguely uncomf to me? Maybe I’ve been looking at it too much. Idk idk I hope yall enjoy it either way 🥹 )
