i hate being "on call."
most of the time, you aren't even needed, but on the off chance that you are, you essentially have to give up your entire day to wait around.

Raising a child is like taking care of someone who’s on way too many shrooms, while you yourself are on a moderate amount of shrooms. I am not confident in my decisions, but I know you should not be eating a mousepad.

I CAN’T EMPHASISE ENOUGH HOW ACCURATE THIS IS.

when a service industry worker accepts an invite to your weekend wedding or birthday party, we are gifting you more than just whatever we pick from your registry. we are giving up literally hundreds of dollars to be with you on your special day. when a service industry worker gives up a friday or saturday night to be with you, please know that you are truly adored.

can we talk about how stressful it is to wear white at work - slinging is messy and forget about carbs in your shift meal, homey! BUT EVERYONE IN CHARGE SEEMS TO LOVE THIS UNIFORM, SO.

i love them. i'm sure they are the most royal pain in the ass to serve, but as long as i'm not tasked with the job, i love them.

Pictures of the Day: “Beautiful Drinks At The Drift” by Jane Ryan
“Situated at the base of the Heron Tower, The Drift is a sleek city bar in one of the capital’s newest skyscrapers, and mixes high-volume service with artisanal - and distinctly whimsical - cocktails.
Despite its usual busy tempo and a suited and booted crowd used to beer and champagne, The Drift, part of the Drake & Morgan Group whose other ventures include The Refinery, The Parlour and The Anthologist, aren’t shy of being a little different. We joined The Parlour’s bars general manager Chris Edwards to shoot some of their most imaginative drinks.
“I wanted the cocktails to be playful, colourful, not take themselves too seriously and above all be great tasting,” says Chris. “Our cocktail menu this season has different sections to entice different customers and Drake & Morgan’s spring/summer cocktail collection is inspired by the carnival, circus and the fairground.””
