It’s a beloved headcanon of ours: Kakashi somehow learns that Tobi is Obito and joins Akatsuki with the intent to save him (but outwardly he’s playing the role of a missing nin who’s going with their plan). Gradually Obito’s heart melts a little from Kakashi’s unexpected care and kindness, but he’s still very-very evil. Eventually they get closer, and in a rare moment of vulnerability,  Obito decides to tell Kakashi everything about the heart seal that must be affecting him. He’s struggling to get the words out, so he writes a letter to him, asking for help. On the one hand, he knows that without the seal he’d be able to alter the world destruction plan the way he pleases, getting away from Madara’s influence, and he must use Kakashi for it, but on the other, he also wonders just how much the seal has affected him and if he would feel anything new were it removed. Would he… change somehow? Which of the thoughts in his head are the consequences of Madara’s hypnosis and which are truly his? And… he just really doesn’t like that it’s apparently affecting whatever emotions he has started feeling around Kakashi. He’s infuriated by the seal’s control more and more. His emotions are still there, but one moment they bloom and the next they’re like paper wadded in a tight fist, misshapen and useless. Even when he feels something, it comes out creased and incomplete. His budding love is definitely meddling with the plan. After reading his letter, Kakashi doesn’t chidori his heart right away, but finds a fuuin jutsu that can possibly block Madara’s seal, and first they try out that… Will it help Obito change?

For context I hc that Kakashi realized he had a crush on Obito only after Kannabi bridge.

So this was a hell of a project. Those who follow me bc of my ninjago stuff know that I sometimes do these kind of amvs/animations (is it animation if I only draw the pictures and put basic transitions? I want to learn to animate but my adhd won’t let me). But this one in particular took me a long time bc I got hyperfixated on it, then dropped it, then hyperfixated again, dropped it again and so on. In the end it was exhausting and I'm not that happy with how it turned out. I'm posting it anyway and hope you guys like it <3

This is what really happened in Kamui trust me.

I've been a fan of Epic since before it released, so I was really excited for the end and then I heard this song and I inmediately thought of Kakashi and Obito, so I had to do something. The song is like 5 min long tho so I only took a small part of it (I didn't notice it was 2 min, I thought it was shorter but I have no regrets).

I also altered some of the lyrics to fit Kakashi and Obito's story better.

I love details so here are a few of them:

For the poses: Madara is forcing Hashirama to look at him while Sasuke is refusing to look at Naruto. And Kakashi's pose is very unstable, meaning he's trusting Obito not to drop him.

The red accesories are placed where they have hurt each other (Madara's is the red rose).

The backgrounds are all meaningful places: Madara and Hashirama in a battlefield, Kakashi and Obito in Kamui and Naruto and Sasuke in the Valley of the end.

One of the worst things that could ever happen to Obito is making him choose between Rin and Kakashi and I will die on that hill.

He just loves them so much. Rin was his biggest supporter during his childhood, and he died for Kakashi, twice!

The two hearts at the end, one cut open and bleeding out and the other burnt and deformed, represent Obito's love for Rin and Kakashi. Which one is which is up to interpretation, either option is valid :)
