Oop I almost forgot to post last month's doodles today :v

Random fursona headshot doodle, and some attempts at my two sonas as "yippee" creatures... I did not look up a reference beforehand so of course they're a little wonky and I got the head shape completely wrong

On the right, a quick doodle of the default face shape I use for MLP mares, followed by two possible ways I could draw stallion faces when I get around to drawing more characters in the future

Shape people! I had Gooseworx's Pink City series on my mind so I made a little family I imagine living there. Maybe I'll give them proper lined and colored artwork one of these days. Pink City is so fun, I hope the series continues!

First of all, thank you for making this my most reblogged post! I was not prepared for that many notifications but it was a pleasant surprise.

Second, I'm loving the mixed reactions to this. Everyone is either overjoyed or distraught. No in-between. Fandom chaos at its finest.

MUCH PONY!!!

Well, one pony with four different styles of shading applied.

Ever since my Celestia piece, I was thinking that a single layer of shading just didn't cut it. Not enough depth. I needed one layer for subtle, lighter shadows and another layer for bold, darker shadows.

To that end, I knew there were different ways I could approach this, so I tried four methods; double cel shading, soft subtle shadows and cel bold shadows, cel subtle shadows and soft bold shadows, and finally, double soft shading.

It was a pain in the ass, folks.

Looking at all four results, I can confidently say I like the double cel shading method best. For one thing, it takes less time. For another, it looks WAY better with my art style than soft shading does.

As for why I drew Mayor Mare... she is best pony, that's why.

It occurred to me that I'm not totally sure how to draw butts from behind, so I thought I would do a practice sketch... which turned into several more because I just couldn't get it to look right. I still don't know which approach is best. I can't figure out how to draw a glorious booty from this specific angle and it bothers me more than it should!

Then there's just a simple little self-portrait since I got my pixie cut again irl :3

I did a lil research and it does seem to be a clothes moth baby!

@badlibbing submitted: Who is this baby child emerging from a papery egg case? I tried to get the camera to focus but this guy was just too smol. Finger for scale. Found inside, on a door, in northeast Texas.

I’d need to see the case to tell you which species it is! If it’s a household casebearer aka plaster bagworm, the case will look like it’s made of tiny bits of sand. If it’s a case-bearing clothes moth, the case will look like it’s made mostly of little fibers. The cases are also different shapes depending on species. But either way it’s a moth caterpillar!
