Almost there!

Uhh it's really hard for me to make progress with this, because there are quite a few things in my life that are trying to drag me down mentally. This comic thingy is constantly on my mind, and I am making progress with it... just unfortunately, incredibly slowly. It doesn't help either that I can't seem to draw two pages with the same level of quality, and I'm constantly dissatisfield with the result...

Sorry for the late update... I know it is not logical and it doesn't even make much sense, but my previous posts received so much attention that I just felt like I couldn't create anything that could live up to them. I'm not completely satisfied with this page either, but this is the best I can do at the moment. I hope there will still be someone who likes it.

Ever since i saw a slave rosinante fanart on pinterest, i wanted someone to either write a fanfic or draw a comic about it.

The au lived rent free in my mind for a long time, and when i saw your slave rosinante au i was so happy.

Looks like trebol is lying through his teeth, maybe he thought that rosinante would drag doflamingo down and prevent him from reaching his “true potential”

Or maybe he thought that as long as rosi is there he would not be able to fully control doffy. I really never liked this guy

Whatever the reason is, what would doffy’s reaction be once he learns that the man who he trusted the most and who essentially raised him, lied to him about his brother.

I can’t wait to read more 😊

OMG!!!

I had the same experience! I saw a picture on Pinterest, which led me to dig through the entire AO3, Google and everything, but I found almost nothing... I was hoping that maybe someone else had the same idea and would write the story, but so far nothing...

This desire and impatience drove me to start drawing everything, which I’ll leave as it is... I'm really not an artist and I have no talent for writing either.

THIS! Exactly, that was my goal! From the very first scene, I hated Trebol... but the basic idea was born when Trebol described Doflamingo during the Law-Luffy-Doflamingo fight as someone who has been crazy since birth, and everything that happened to him was just extra to turn him into an even sicker monster.

So, I find it logical that in this AU, Trebol would be very disturbed if a character who encourages empathy and feelings - like Rosinante - stayed by Doffy's side and hindered his complete fulfillment. It would be a total disappointment.

I hope my motivation really lasts until the end, and that I can draw everything, because I have tons of ideas!

I can just imagine Rosinante thinking and imagining Dofft rescuing him day and night until he finds his way back at him just to see... Doffy already made another family for himself. Did he even search for him? Why was he being so cold and distant? He had done as his big bro told him to (wait for me) and get caught because of it...

Would that cause some tension? Would Doffy even mind if Rosi decided to leave the Family soon after coming back because of his disappointment? (Maybe my boy wouldn't even think of it... Because where would he go??)

Mm I think Rosinante would be too happy in the first weeks/ months to not overthink anything about his current situation and not think about the family as their old family. More like a close group of friends? And Doffy said the family is alright, so he must be right. He accepted him into this “family” without questions ( or just let it pass when he would’t want to tell anything). So it is enough for him. He still has to learn that he has his own life now, he can feel dissapointed or angry and act like as rightfully. Not just accept what life gives him head bowed. So not dissapointed like that.

Uhh there are some things they absolutely should talk about, but until Rosi hasn’t got the courage to speak and talk about his past, it would’t be better.

Doffy on the other hand very suspicious and does not trust Rosinante 100%…He always has Trebol whispering disconcerting things about his little brother in his ears…. He is so unstable mentally/ emotionally he would kill Rosi if he would want to leave. But if he stay and turns out he is really a spy or something, he would kill him too. But if after years Rosinante would like to go with Law and make a secondary pirate crew? He would be the one who would finance them…

But yeaaaah Rosinante wouldn’t think about leaving. Because where to go? What to do with himself? And well he did not wait for years to give up his chance at the first bump.

How would Doffy react to Rosi coming back to him? Especially since he seems mute now, and clearly hurt. Would he feel guilty?

Weeeeeell I don’t think it would be that simple.

I already had sketches on my ipad from Doffy’s side after his trip to Mary Geoise that a liiitle bit clear things out, I think. But some details I keep for a later time. I just hope that I will still have the motivation to draw eeeeverything.

Soooo how to write about Doffy, but not tell everything…hmmm how should he feel guilty if he doesn’t even feel like he is responsible about Rosinante’s past? Yeah he is still his little brother, but he thinks he made his own decisions in life so good job, sit down at the family table and have a cookie. You will have your chance. We will see that you really a member of the Donquixote family or not.

I can imagine Doflamingo to be someone who wants to be happy that he has his brother back. But can life really that easy that hey you didn’t see your own brother for like 13 years and woooww he is suddenly hereeee! And everyone is happy and this is the bestest happy ending anyone could ever dream of…

Naaaaaaahh.

He would think, he is here. Yeah, but WHY? Why would he come back? What’s his reasons to be there?

I can tell that he would not know of Rosinante’s past for a while. But when the truth comes to light. Aaaahh it would be a pitypartyyyyyyy! Drama and confetti! Tears and blood!

Ahahahaha I just imagined how selective Rosinante’s vision and hearing would be in the beginning….

I mean how fcked up do you have to be as celestial dragons, for Doflamingo and his family to seem almost kind in Rosinante’s eyes? He willingly searched for Doffy who killed their own father…… so yeah it would take some time and slave business for Rosinante to catch up that something is not reeeeealy 100% okaaaaay.
