An apology to an artist ...on May 20th at 11:10 pm at night I received a follow back from a NYC artist that is so truly gifted. I have not met him but I could feel his aura just in a brief telephone call. It was strong, consuming. It was beautiful. His understanding of water comes to life on canvas. Waves spill out so lifelike you almost can feel the spray of cool water and your hands want to catch the droplets When you have a true love for art whether a painter or true collector nothing can stop you. It's part of you. My Mother had it and she knew I did as well. I remember being mezmerized by a painting in a storefront window. At seven I had my first love affair with a painting so deep as an ocean I wish I had gotten lost in. Now at 60 the love affair returned. Since December if I sleep 3 hours a night its welcoming. I am trying to bring to my vision of a store so extrodinarliy different to the public. Period Antiques, Fine Art, a new lifestyle of decor. Design by highly recommended interior decorators one that includes a new look for men. Lighting, curiosities.... But the jewel in the store is an art gallery. It's a dream. I had canceled meeting this artist twice this past Summer. When an artist invites you to his loft. It is a gift. It is his world, his endless hours of passion. It is nothing less than an honor. I was unsure of my validity to call back after canceling twice. My store was still emerging and an art gallery wasn't even a blueprint. It just slipped out of my hands. To you George Lewis I am so very sorry. On October 4th two wonderful people close on a building that will become Op • u • lence Which will have an Art Gallery that I hope to fill with art that upon seeing will mesmerize you.
