Day 7: The Dark General

Jurian’s eyes gleamed bright—not with madness, I realized.

But clarity.

And I had the sense of the world sliding out from beneath my feet as Jurian said, “He resurrected me to turn them to his cause, believing I had gone mad during the five hundred years Amarantha trapped me. So I was reborn, and found myself surrounded by my old enemies—faces I had once marked to kill. I found myself on the wrong side of a wall, with the human realm poised to shatter beneath it.” Jurian looked right to Mor, whose mouth was a tight line. “You were my friend,” he said, voice straining. “We fought back-to-back during some battles. And yet you believed me at first sight—believed that I’d ever let them turn me.” “You went mad with—with Clythia. It was madness. It destroyed you.”

“And I was glad to do it,” Jurian snarled. “I was glad to do it, if it bought us an edge in that war. I didn’t care what it did to me, what it broke in me. If it meant we could be free. And I have had five hundred years to think about it. While being held prisoner by my enemy. Five hundred years, Mor.”

Day 6: Firebird Queen

There is an onyx box that he possesses, more vital than anything … save for them. The girls. He keeps other girls — others so like her — but she … By day, she is one form, by night, human again.”

“A bird of burning feathers,” I said.

“Firebird by day,” Rhys mused, “woman by night … So she’s held captive by this sorcerer-lord?”

Elain shook her head. “I don’t know. I hear her — her screaming. With rage. Utter rage …” She shuddered.

Day 5: “And then there were four...”

Theory time! I think Elain and the band of exiles will be brought together to bring down Koschei. LET ME EXPLAIN!!!

At some point Koschei will break free and cause trouble, and the only people (asides from Vassa) that are linked to him are Elain and Lucien. Elain has glimpsed Koschei’s most vital object and will likely have more visions of him in the future, and if Sarah’s version of Koschei is similar to Koschei the Deathless, the box probably contains an object that has the ability to banish Koschei for eternity. (Miss Elain could be the key to Koschei’s demise!) Lucien not only has a companionship with someone who’s enslaved by Koschei, he has connections throughout the continent and information about the lake he likely gathered during his search for Vassa.

Which brings me back to my theory- Elain will be asked to go to the continent with Lucien, along with Vassa (and possibly Jurian) to retrieve the box. Again, Elain is the only one who’s glimpsed the box which makes her the only person who could identify it. The decision to go will be up to her of course. The question is if she’ll hold herself back, or if she’ll grasp this opportunity to break free from the shell that’s been stifling her for too long deciding it’s time to face things head-on starting with Lucien. I think Elain will choose the latter. It would give her a purpose and the chance to choose this new path for herself, and nobody would be able to interfere or make decisions for her this time. This is what’ll lead to Elain leave if the NC, go out to the world and travel the continent like she’s always wanted to. It’ll be such an adventure, and we’ll finally be able to explore Prythian outside of the Night Court. We’ll see!

Edit: I also don’t think it’s a coincidence Elain and Vassa both shared close relationships with papa Archeron. Queenie told Feyre and Nesta at the end of the war that she’d honor his memory for as long as she lived so it’s clear he was more than just just an acquaintance to her. Oh! And we can’t forget about that one vision of the firebird watching Elain garden from the trees!!! Possible foreshadowing?

BoE week - modern au

Lucien and Jurian met in college

They were rivals competing for the same girl but eventually became friends

After college they decided to go into business together

They opened up a high end book shop that specializes in rare finds

When looking for someone to run the shop, Vassa applies and they find her to be a perfect fit

Jurian handles the finances and Lucien travels searching for items for the shop and it’s customers

Lucien, Jurian and Vassa become great friends and move into the apartment above the book shop together, since Lucien and Jurian own the building

With Lucien often gone, Vassa and Jurian become very close

Lucien meets Elain in London while he’s searching for a manuscript and she is on vacation with her sisters

headcanon that jurian and elain become the unexpected besties. they argue and bicker like no one else (jurian is the first one to actually make elain come out of her shell out of anger, not lucien, and lucien is sitting there like 😳 ready to jump in at any moment)

but then they actually find real friendship (I’m just once again referring to new girl) the way winston and cece became each other’s person

I just love the idea that it’s annoying jurian who can bring some of that social butterfly out that elain’s been hiding for so long — and then somehow they are the ones playing pranks and being responsible for a stupid mess vassa and lucien have to clean up

October 7th -Modern AU How did they meet? they met in a photo shoot for a major firm,called acowar. Jobs? Both Vassa and Jurian work as models. However,lucien is a firefighter.He occasionally does advertising campaigns, when it’s for charity. Hobbies? Vassa: She´s an adrenaline junkie that loves to test her limits with extreme sports. Jurian: he´s a hardcore car enthusiast,he has several sports cars.He loves driving 100+ mph on the motorway. Lucien: he loves to travel the world, with his girl, he is also learning gardening.

BOE Modern AU (someone help me make a pretty graphic): Outdoor campers

Lucien likes to extreme camp. I'm talking hang a hammock over the ledge of a 1000ft drop and sleep.

Vassa is traveling the US in her renovated school bus, documenting the experience for instagram to her 500k followers.

Jurian and his dog like to spend the day hiking. His dog wears a little back-pack that matches Jurian's and despite its mean looking face, is a baby in disguise

They meet atop a trail one day. Vassa needs help with a photo and Lucien offers. Jurian makes some snide comment about insta-fluencers ruining nature and Vassa tells him to shut the fuck up with the sweetest smile.

Lucien is like, you guys staying here tonight? I know a great spot to see the stars. Jurian is like, lead the way and Vassa agrees after quietly texting her friends photos of these strangers. (safety first)

"Are you seriously sleeping in a hammock?" Vassa asks, impressed. Lucien is like, what, you're not?

Jurian gives Vassa his tent for the night and Lucien sets up a second hammock (don't ask why he has one) for Jurian and his dog

The next morning Vassa gives Jurian and Lucien a tour of her school bus. She takes a photo of the two of them and her insta explodes.

Turns out, Lucien and Jurian are like, SUPER hot

Fast forward six months. They call themselves the Band of Exiles (@bandofexiles on insta, they just hit 1 mil last week!). Jurian drives Vassa's bus now, and Lucien rarely sleeps inside when they're parked. Even in the cold, which makes for some cool photos.

Vassa's followers debate over who she should get with, Jurian (Jassa) or Lucien (Vassien), with hashtags and stan accounts. The three laugh about it over a fire pit at night.

A year later, when Lucien brings his girlfriend Elain with them up to Alaska, and Vassa posts a photo of her kissing Jurian, a lot of people are very smug.

Day 3: Song Association

This is one Vassa loves to blast around the house 😍 (I do as well 😍)

Attempting to have a conversation with one of the boe while this song is playing? Walk away because the only words you’ll get out of them are the lyrics!

Ooh this is their ideal ‘driving at night in an empty highway with the windows down and the music blaring’ song

Lucien’s personal favorite (Jurian introduced it to him). He went to a bar once and was explaining something to someone when it came on. It was incredibly hard not to sing along and so he would cut off mid sentence and go- Everybody’s talking all this stuff about me, why don’t they just let me live?

Vassa, Jurian, and a drunk Lucien once hopped a security fence and climbed an abandoned building. Lucien accidentally set a small fire that quickly spread and engulfed the entire building after Vassa begged him to show them a magic trick. Uh ohhhhh. Lucien managed to winnow them out, and the three of them booked it out of there just in time to hear the po po’s arriving. They hopped into Jurian’s little Geo Storm and he hammered it tf down. This song just happened to be playing on the radio as they were speeding away, and it’s been their ultimate ‘getaway song after committing a crime’ song ever since lol
