A couple months shy of one year after buying BG3 and I have finally finished one whole game. The illithid Tav ending now has me like…

~~I'm fine. I'm mildly distressed. I can live with this. This will haunt me until the end of my days. It's just a game. It was 200+ hours of my life. Its the consequences of my actions. It's unfair. It was the best outcome for all my companions. It sucks Tav got singled out. A sacrifice had to be made, that's the reality. Reality is bullshit. I'm not that mad. I am PEEVED. I can put this save file and character to rest. I WILL MOD THE GAME TO HELL AND BACK TO DO IT ALL AGAIN YOU CAN’T STOP ME LARIAN.~~ [Repeat ad nauseum while trying to complete, normal daily tasks 🙃]

[Disclaimer: Some of this probably looks like criticism or that I didn’t enjoy the game or I’m so mad I hate it… That’s not the case. I thoroughly enjoyed playing this ABSOLUTE UNIT of a game. I had a blast. Even Act 3 in all of it’s chaotic messes. Nothing quite as satisfying than seeing the Gather Your Allies quest fill with entries and then seeing everone at the Watch Tower. 🥹

Is it a gut-punch to get to the end though and be left with two terrible choices, either become illithid and lose character/relationships or let Orpheus take the fall and screw up Lae’zel’s story? Yes. It was. It was sobering in a way I was wasn’t expecting and it hasn’t left my mind since. Kind of, unsatisfying, in a way…

But that means I get to do it all over again at some point, and, this time, there. Will. Be. MODS. 🔧😈

Bringing this back because, despite being 30+ hours into Act III... I did it again. Reloaded an earlier save to get some story lines I missed. Let's goooo!

How it feels realizing I missed a bunch of content in Act I and load an earlier save to go get that shit because I’ll be damned if I leave anything unexplored:

Most of my BG3 screenshots are of companion/NPC wisdom (cuz sometimes the dialogue in this game hits a bit too hard, ya know?) but today is not the day I compile and post that.

No, this one is about Withers. Being kinda savage to Tav the First. I heard a time or two he’ll roast you for having no bitches, but I guess I missed it Act I? Which makes getting this dialogue kinda hilarious in Act II...

I dunno ‘bout anybody else, but getting called out for being horny on main by the retired god of death was not on my first-run BG3 bingo card.

BG3 really gave me a duo who realizes they grew up in a cult and now need to overthrow it, a duo who want to surpass their master/mistress and become gods, and a duo who repeatedly get fucked over by demons AND doesn’t let me pair these hot messes up???? Let me ship my companions

Man, it has been a hot minute since I've been on Tumblr, and while somethings have changed it is oddly comforting to see things are still largely the same. Thus, in holding onto a comforting tradition, first post is a mandatory blog/blogger intro. Roll tape!

Interests/Content: TTRPG nonsense and maybe some art.

Like it says in the blog description: TTRPG stuff like D&D and more recently BG3. But... let's be honest, it'll probably be mostly BG3 at the moment. I am thankfully past my 2-week hyperfixation/obsession period that seems to happen with all media I like, but I think about it at least once a day. Current save has about 50 hours and I'm only at the border of Act I/Act II. Warlock/Rogue Tav and morally grey crew is on the road to hell paved with ✨good intentions✨. I am an artist sometimes, when work isn't too exhausting, and the more I learn about the BG3 companions makes me want to draw 'em. We'll see.
