I will say im worried about the new Superman movie. It looks great. But....thats a lot of big characters to introduce in one movie. Hawkwoman. Guy Gardner. Lex Luthor. It looks like Milly Alcock is playing Supergirl.
On one hand it feels like a comic book. On the other.....i don't trust a movie to be able to pull that off.

A Luke Skywalker who hates Tatooine; boring, uninteresting, we already have Anakin.
A Luke Skywalker who adores Tatooine down to his bones, who uses his newfound jedi powers to defend its people against the slavery, and injustice there, who speaks its language and loves its gods; inspired, fascinating, complex!!

I have never been more attached to a podcast character than I am to Alice Dyer.
I fear what her inevitable demise/spiral into insanity/monsterfication/fate worse than death will do to me

Sad that this fucking intro to programming class has broken my no AI use record
Unfortunately AI is the only thing I can find that i can feed it my broken incomplete code and it'll walk me through it line by line and tell me why i'm wrong without calling me an idiot. I tried Reddit and Stackflow first and got called stupid several times.
I do however try to make it explain why I'm wrong without giving me the answers because I'm not about cheating.

Bold opinion; i think Alice Dyer and Tim Stoker would LOATHE each other. They're far too similar to get along.

I think Luke Skywalker as a character was hurt so much by being an american action protagonist in the 70s/80s.
Because the most interesting thing about him (to me) isn't his cool jedi powers, his prodigious piloting skills, or the fact that he blew up the Death Star. To me its his empathy, his capacity for kindness despite the war.
He sees that there's a captive on the Death Star, and yeah he's intrigued by the fact that its the mysterious hologram princess, but that doesn't negate the fact that he IMMEDIATELY tries to rescue her despite a) never meeting her nor any of the rebels at this point and b) having no plan at all. He learns Darth Vader was once a man (his father, though I think he'd have tried this regardless) and immediately shows him empathy and tries to coax him back to being a man again. He buys R2 not only because Uncle Owen's first choice broke but because he realizes its upsetting the two droids to be seperated from each other (and because C3PO told him too but cmon).
He drops everything to rescue his friends at the first hint they might be in trouble. He forgives Obi Wan for lying to him his whole life. He comes into every situation armed with kindness and understanding. Hell he even tries to show Jabba mercy, a creature who's enslaved the people he grew up with on Tattooine.
All these traits would've been interesting to explore but they were barely touched on because Star Wars is an action movie and empathy isn't acknowledged

I think clone wars dark side anakin is my favorite dark side anakin. because yeah, in the movies, you can tell he's gonna fall. maybe not in the phantom menace, but in attack of the clones and revenge of the sith, it's so obvious! everything about him just oozes both light and dark, the dark steadily winning. but clone wars anakin? clone wars anakin? oh, he's a sun. he's blindingly bright and he's happy. we can go full episodes without a trace of the dark side showing up on his face or in his actions, which makes when he does go dark even more jarring. when he snaps and attacks and the imperial march plays faintly in the background, when not even ten minutes earlier in the episode he was joking around with ahsoka. that is peak dark side anakin to me, because that is what i imagine anakin truly was. happy and fun and then snapping, terrifying. it's why no one believed it when he fell. why obi-wan and padme and ahsoka didn't see it coming.

Hey Dead Boy Detectives fandom! I'm doing a short research presentation about the DBDA Fandom Community and its demographics for my Master's of Library Science. If you wouldn't mind please take this short, anonymous survey.
If you aren't comfortable disclosing your sexuality/gender/race even anonymously in this political climate I totally get it, feel free to keep scrolling and please protect yourself 💕

Obsessed with the idea that SecUnits are made of cloned material. Cloned from who? Were there volunteers hundreds of years ago who donated their dna? Do they clone it from bodies donated for science? Does GreyCris have a past history of graverobbing, like the medical schools of the Victorian age?
What do they do when they have to gather fresh samples? Genetic material degrades over time. Do they take new volunteers? Or is it a part of an indentured person's contract that GreyCris owns the rights to their body and can "take and use any genetic material to enhance the safety and security of the Corporation Rim."
