Every now and again I am reminded the time his aunt topped talking to my dad for a few years because he did something she asked for (editing on something she wrote) and was honest in his editing. Aka he told her the exact issues in what she wrote. The thing, you know, and editor is supposed to do. And on top of that my father is actually excellent at editing so from an ego standpoint I think it made it worse for her...
(My dad's side of the family is also the writer side of the family; my dad was a journalist for over thirty years [at the same paper as that, the man successfully retired without ever being laid off or fired and even got asked by the paper when he retired 'hey how do you feel like doing the occasional free lance work still?]. My aunt. Um. Didn't have that luck)

"Honestly all he deserves is to reincarnate as one of Hojo's horrifically mutated experiments that acts as a low level boss fight."
You're not wrong, and being a redshirt enemy would tick him off. But imagine how much he'd HATE being a good person! Especially if this is someone casually murdered by the villain. It'd be the ultimate insult!
True. TBH if I did it that way, I'd make him Ifalna, Aerith's murdered at Hojo's hands mother.

Idea for If You Could See Us Now:
Take the most kind, compassionate, selfless character who hasn't been accounted for. Make that AFO.
(It'll either be his redemption, or his personal torment. One of the two. And it's kinda hilarious)
Honestly all he deserves is to reincarnate as one of Hojo's horrifically mutated experiments that acts as a low level boss fight.

A life well lived can make the next hurt worse.
Reincarnation can be cruel.
(additional notes under the cut)
Initial prompts that caused this
Unmentioned anywhere since I could not fit it in, Shouto also actually reincarnated on Gaia; he's Genesis. For those familiar with Genesis you know why this is funny in a fucked up way. Cloudsuki is not aware of it, though Sephiku is (and is simply beyond the point of caring).
Only Cloud, Sephiroth, Zack, Aerith, and Genesis are reincarnations of BNHA characters. Everyone else has a soul native to Gaia
Sephiroth accidentally regained his memories of being Izuku post-Advent Day. He literally fixated so had on Cloud he remembered who they'd used to be (and since being in the Lifestream at the time was able to realize who Zack, Aerith, and Genesis had been). This was added by Katsuki and Izuku's well, own and much healthier, mutual obsession.
For those wondering at the end, the implication you should be taking is that Sephiroth is about to cause the Remake continuity
For those who follow the anime rather than the manga, fairly early on in the ongoing War Arc Katsuki nearly died due to a heart injury and survived due to plot armor and open jeart surgery. Here he didn't get so lucky a second time.

“And the attempted murder of a villain?” “We were attempting to apprehend, not murder,” Yaoyorozu says, looking almost offended. “We aren’t Midoriya or Monoma.” “Hey!” “Midoriya, you punched that yakuza leader so hard you collapsed his rib cage and Monoma used the man’s Quirk to somehow merge his arms into his torso.” “Yes but he didn’t die!” Shouta closes his eyes.  A part of him is proud.  The other part of him is regretting not expelling these idiots when he had the chance. Oh well.  They’d probably not end up murdering anyone before the end of year. …Hopefully? Maybe? He’ll need to remind himself how to hide a body…
---Possibly one of my favorite character interactions I've written

Is one of the reasons Izukuroth feels he's come too far/must keep going because of not just how many he's killed, but WHO he's killed? To put it another way, might he have turned to the side of good if he hadn't personally murdered Uraraka/Aerith?
Her death and everything done to Cloudsuki (at his hands) are the reasons he feels he's gone too far. They're two of the people he loved most in the world while still Izuku and then *that*.

TBH there's a high chance a variant has been done before since I know I had thoughts about this at some point last year. Or it may have been my thoughts on how I'm re-writing aspects of Build Yourself Up (in particular parts of Hawks initial backstory and use of the character Kiyome)
I've contemplated Legacies and Curses a fair amount lately and I'm starting to have the very ominous feeling I'm going to be doing a total re-write of the damn thing.

I don't know if you're still answering asks about Sticks and Stones, but I recently reread the story and I wanted to ask: was Aizawa expecting Tensei to straight go to the media, or was he expecting Tensei to be the starter mouthpiece for a more rumor-like style of slander against Izuku that stayed inside the heroics community?
He leaned more towards the second tbh? Since it may have been less noticeable to people who may have been paying attention. That's not to say he wasn't *pleased* at how Tensei went about it before it massively blew up in their faces. It would have allowed Izuku to be kicked out of 1-A faster (in his train of thought). It's just...he wildly misunderstood how things would go.

Thank you! Also admittedly this flowed rather well. I actually mostly finished back in March, but I commissioned that cover art from Loop and wanted it before posting since she does amazing things. Also gave me time to do some adjustments (the bullying thing wasn't in the original version, and I fiddled with Cloudsuki's thoughts on Sephiku being broken).
Also I am well aware I should probably be working more on FtE and WMH over that oneshot but oh well.
