It was late at night, but Alistair still had to work. He had the night shift this time and if he wouldn’t desperately need the money, he would’ve quit this shitty job a long time ago. he was leaning back in his chair, rubbing his eyes and reaching for his half full can of soda. there were empty energy drink cans scattered all over his table and since nobody else was in the shop, his furry companions were accompanying him as well. he was actually supposed to take care of the rat problem in the shop, but little did his boss know that those rats were actually Alistair’s only family and that he hid them in the airvents, trash containers and closets during the day only to let them run around freely once the store closes.

Alistair yawned and put the now empty can back on the table. a rat jumped from the table onto his lap, rubbing it’s head against his stomach so he would give it attention. He pet the small creature’s head and suddenly felt a sharp pain in his neck. “FFF-FUCK!! WHAT THE-?!” he reached for his neck and pulled out a toothpick. “WHO’S THERE?!?” he shouted angrily and looked around, but there was nobody to be seen. however, he now heard a voice. it was a bit hard to understand, but there was definitely someone or something talking to him. he kept looking around, now he was quite nervous.
