Bockstensmanen, a medieval person who happened to die in a bog which preserved his clothes (and more), clothes like hella comfy??
Like seriously. Comfy and warm wool clothes!
(yes this are pictures of his actual outfit, not reconstructed clothing. They were very well preserved in all except colour. The bog gave everything that yellow shade, i suspect)

Different stages of an archery target for the Heraldshill St. Augustine’s Faire. Their event was the first official one I went to two years ago, so it holds a special place for me. This year was the first time I officiated as a Martial In Training so my canton can have shoots during the week. Since I was an MIT, I came up with two shoots, a “paper punch” and a “help the viking kill the dragon”. Different parts of the dragon scored differently, and the viking was negative points. The dragon shoot flowed a lot better than the paper punch, and I’ll definitely alter things on that in the future.

Yennefer, NO.
So I went into The Witcher on Netflix cold. Haven't read the books, haven't played the games, only seen bits and pieces. So far I'm enjoying the series, EXCEPT. Yennefer, what the flaming FUCK do you mean like "they took away my choice (for a baby)". No, YOU did that. You bulled your way into the mage's studio, taunted him, said fuck off with those weakass herbs CARVE ME UP YOU BITCH and was on board 100%. Don't claim that the big bad mages took away your baby making factory when you practically reached in and yanked out your ovaries yourself so you could be the new hotness.
I realize she's all sorts of mentally whacked out so self accountability isn't exactly her forte, but blaming others for the choices she made makes me really not give a fuck about her, and glad that she stormed off from Geralt even though it sucks for him.

Queen Mary’s Psalter, 1320′s. Two women riders, one gesturing, one with a horn. One handed neck reining. Long saddle blankets, breast collar, shanked bits. The way the brow band is shown, I wonder if it’s not a single ear loop, much like many western bridles.

More fingerloop braiding! Knocked these guys out at Lilies War, just simple 3 loops. The one on the left is 2 yellow to 1 purple, the right one is the reverse. Linen cord, quite strong and looks awesome.

I made this target for Saint Augustine’s Fair held by Herald’s Hill. I thought of painting the entire thing, but realized I had a bunch of scrap fiber finds that I nabbed from a garage sale. I made the ladders from yarn remnants, and the people were squares that had been clipped ahead of time, probably for a quilt. They were handy for painting soldiers on in any case! The target is a box used for transporting glass for picture framing. Even though the box is quite large, it folds up nicely which protects the target until it’s time to get plugged with holes. Of course, you need a solid stop behind it to keep arrows from getting lost.
Here is the write up I made for the shoot:
Archery: Repel the Invaders!
Help your allies in the besieged castle! Enemies are engaging the defending forces so they can’t effectively repel the scoundrels! Help them out by picking off the invaders, (1 point) or get double score by spattering them with boiling oil! (2 points per water balloon popped) Of course, hitting your allies makes them VERY unhappy (-3 points)

Got two colors of silk thread, so I made a 27" long 7 loop finger loop flat braid. I really like the pattern that emerged. I didn't like that I screwed it up twice and had to unravel everything I did both times because I'm incapable of picking out what move to make next when redoing something. In any case, it looks pretty neat and feels awesome!

Two finger loop braids made from some linen thread I bought at the Iowa wool and fiber expo. When I saw those colors how could I not buy them? Starting to play around with using different colored cords to make patterns.

A half dozen hand fletched arrows. The points are screw-on target bodkins, safe for target shooting (indeed, I’ve found that they’re easier to pull out of targets than most arrow points!) I used silk thread wound around the base of the feathers, winding up and holding down the ends. Since I self nock, it’s a REALLY good idea to wrap just below the nocking point. Turns out that even though I cut the nocks perpendicular to the growth rings, there’s larger rings that can intersect them that are REALLY hard to see. Ended up breaking a few arrows because I didn’t have the thread bound tight enough and they came loose. :( Next time I’ll apply lacquer (nail polish ;) ) to the thread to keep things in place.

Here's a twofer for you! Using the technique from Purses In Pieces for a coin purse, a game board was painted on the inside of a drawstring pouch so it can hold the pieces when not in use. Fox and Geese and Hound and Hare are the two shown here. The pieces for Fox and Geese are handmade tokens, made from stamping glass with a leather tooling stamp.
