james kirk is sooooo funny because like , in universe he was such a famous captain that he would realistically probably be looked up to by like , thousands of aspiring little space cadets . but also his response to little kids is like , “ ah .. uh ,, hello . be good and don’t do bad things “ . could you imagine he just is hanging around the space station while the crew is taking leave and this little kid comes running up to him babbling about how he’s their hero while some officer on the space station is running after them and apologizing profusely and he’s just like it’s okay !! uh stay in school kid
