I looooove soft fics I wish there were more! So here are a few that sort of fit the bill!

Thought That Song Was Sung- @100percentsassy: absolutely delightful famous/not famous AU where Harry was in 1D and is now out and in his forties, and he meets Louis (also in his forties!) on a internet dating site. It’s so so so so sweet and hot and they’re VERY soft and it’s so feel good and I always bawl at the end! I love gay love happening later in life, and second chance narratives, and it’s all about that.

Saved Tonight- objectlesson: oops, so I wrote this one so you have have already read it! But I’ve been told it’s very soft, and @wankerville who is the confirmed queen of softness told me it’s HER go to feel good/safe fic, so that makes me want to include it because I love her. Anyway, Louis is a bitter retired television writer and Harry is a huge fan of his cancelled show who happens to be dog sitting next door. Also a second chance narrative.

Want You More than A- TheCellarDoor: outstandingly soft, gentle high school AU with nerdy harry. Louis is the sweetest most soft boyfriend ever, and theres so much humor and bumbling communication and they’re so YOUNG and it’s just lovely.

Think How Much Pussy You’re Gonna Get- Loadedgunn: soft, sweet, hilarious, alarmingly reliable canon story about Harry adopting too many cats and Louis being so in love with him he doesn’t care.

Lastly, @alivingfire has a collection of very sweet short fics she originally wrote on tumblr and they’re ALL very soft and loving. Most of them are canon, which is always my favorite

a few more, that have angst AS WELL as softness, but don’t begin with an established relationship.

To the Ends of the Earth- @alienproof This is a canon fic that starts angsty but gets really soft! It takes place in the middle of the hiatus, and Harry is living in an isolated cabin in Idaho and Louis comes to stay with him and they’re not together, but were in the past. It’s slow and tender and aching, and something about them being in the middle of Idaho and so far away from everything creates this soft, delicate magic around them.

wish I knew how to break this spell- eleadore: another cabin fic….maybe there’s something inherently soft about cabins??! Anyway, also cabin, also begins in angst, ends in tenderness.

if It’s me you’re looking for- eleadore: an au where they’re exes and sort of like…long time best friends, with communication problems? It’s super super slow build and it starts with angst (louis thinks it’s unrequited) but when they finally get on the same page it’s so romantic and satisfying!

Faking It -thecellardoor: childhood best friends/fake dating AU with lots and lots of build up and slow-burn, an some angst/miscommunication early on. Extremely sweet though, and they’re very very soft with each other and very in love. I think the childhood best friends slowly fading in love thing lends itself well to softness.

But why wonder, why wonder? - @100percentsassy this is a Marcel/Louis fic and it’s SO WONDERFUL and funny and adorable, but early on Marcel suffers from a low of self doubt and anxiety, so there is some angst. BUT! When they finally do get together it’s wildly sweet and wonderful.

Okay sooo when are you writing this fic??💚

Deep cut thoughts, if the boys were mermaids/mermen what colors would their tails be? In addition, any thoughts on designs for fins and/or tails in general? Lay that color spectrum of thought on, if you have any opinions.

Rubia, I have spent DAYS mulling over this ask in detail. Like I’ll walk from work to Subway, and ponder 1D’s mermaid tails. I’ll be mid tattoo and wonder, “in this universe where 1D are mermaids, can the scales change color like a mood ring? According to their mood? When Harry blushes does his tail get redder? When Niall gets flustered does his tail fluff up like an indignant ocean-bird? Can scales even do that?”

You see I take this SUPER SERIOUSLY?? ANYWAY, without further ado, here’s what I came up with:

1. Liam’s tail is primarily a red-gold, but there’s a blue tint to the interior of the scale, which creates this sort of depth because Liam is a passionate, bright-hearted person with this inner self-doubt which darkens him up a little bit, gives him this blue shadow. It’s the vulnerable bit surrounded by all the bravado, on the inside Liam just really wants to be liked!!! His tail is long with shorted, utilitarian type fins, no-frills but still pretty, like a Chinese Dragon Fish (which is like, the most expensive aquarium fish on the black market, fyi).

2. Louis is turquoise and SUPER FANCY and absolutely gorgeous like the entire ocean and every single color in it? Represented is in his tail. There’s gold like sunshine through surface water because he’s bright and radiant, and emerald like shadowy lagoons because he wrists deep artistic love songs. But mostly there’s just the bluest blue blue, like his eyes, so blue he sort of hurts to look at and all the other mermaids are jealous. His fins are absurd and showy and shimmery and even when he’s not trying he’s like, the most elegant swimmer ever, like fucking water ballet for days,

3. Niall has all the colors of the sunset. He’s like, technically a goldfish, and when you’re like “wow Niall what a beautiful mermaid you are” he’s like “nah, I’m just a goldfish type mermaid, basic you know” and everyone rolls their eyes because he’s like a FANCY GORGEOUS goldfish, but whatever. He’s got gold and red and white and orange in his tail, which has a deep split fork like this, and he rolls out of mermaid bed looking all shiny, he doesn’t even have to try.

4. Harry is the prettiest pink mermaid, all kinds of pink like a whole underwater rose garden, bright pink in place, almost fuchsia in others, but mostly, soft peachy rose gold like a blush. It suits him because he’s soft and sweet but it’s multi-layered softness and sweetness, and in some places he’s so pink he’s almost red, like blood. His tail is one of those beta type tails that’s like, a gigantic puff of underwater smoke? He looks graceful when he’s just sitting there but when he swims he gets tangled up in his enormous tail like rapunzel.

5. Zayn has oil slick type scales, where in some light he looks black, but when the sun is filtering through the ocean and hits him just right you see that there are so many colors to him, so much vivid complexity…cool blues and metallic purple and bright green. There’s a lot we don’t always see about zayn and it gets consumed by darkness, whether it’s inner darkness or external perceptions of darkness, but he’s actually a fucking rainbow? And his tail is multi dimensional too, spiky sort of fins almost like a peacock’s feather.

You're writing an amnesia au?! All my prayers have been answered! Any snippets yet or details to share?

Hii! Um, no snippets yet, I’m afraid. Everything I’ve written so far is still pretty raw. I can give you some details, though.

So, basically, the plot line is that Harry and Louis meet when they are 19 and 21. They fall in love, of course, everything is lovely and fluffy and cheesy. When Harry is 23, thy have an accident together, in which Harry’s injuries to the head are pretty severe and he loses his memory of the past 5 years. So he wakes up, remembering things only until he’s 18, shortly before he met Louis. It is decided that for Harry’s health sake, Louis leaves and Harry’s not forced to work hard on trying to remember him and the relationship. I’m gonna work with flashbacks for that part, showing them from Louis’ POV throughout the first part.

The story starts 5 years later. Louis is a successful lawyer in London, living in a huge flat, earning lots of money, but having trouble finding a partner, or even dating. Through some funny coincidences, he meets Harry, who has just started working as a chef at a star-rated restaurant. He’s lived in Manchester with his family after the accident, trying to find out what to do with his life and has just moved to London to start a career.

Of course, Harry falls in love with Louis very quickly, and he’s met with an unintentional game of hot and cold from Louis. That is, obviously, because Louis tries to stay away from Harry but obviously struggles to do so when he never stopped loving Harry.

Niall’s Louis’ best friend, a singer-songwriter trying to make ends meet and always in trouble with different women. Liam is Harry’s best friend since they were kids and not the best at keeping secrets or acting unsuspicious about the things he knows.

I’ve roughly planned 60k (which means we’ll end up with at least 80k) for a One-shot! It’ll have both Harry and Louis’ POV, and of course some good deal of angst. A Happy Ending is a given, though :)

I've had this one on my "to read" list for awhile! I really want to do a review soon. Lucy is so very sweet and incredibly talented. Anyways, if you haven't read this fic please give it a shot! I'm sure I'll love it when I get to it. - Green 💚

Ummm, my fic that i am most proud of is unbelievably only 12 pieces of kudos away from 1000 :O I NEVER thought that i’d get anywhere near that number.

It’s 100k of strangers to friends to lovers. I like to think that I’ve written them as equals, and that it’s my ode to what it’s like to well and truly fall in love. Louis is a budding designer by night, Selfridges personal shopper by day. Harry is a newly qualified lawyer. There’s also a cat with at least three names, and a Nick that is part match maker, part shoe obsessive.

Actual Summary: Harry’s only sixteen, it shows right now, and Louis wants…he wants so many things. He wants to taste the faint, sugary ghost of lip gloss, he wants to cup Harry’s face between his palms and swipe the shimmery wet shadows from beneath his eyes. He wants to show him everything he knows, even though he doesn’t know anything about this, about kissing boys or flirting with them or doing their makeup or even showing them it’s okay to want to wear makeup in the first place. Still, Louis just wants, wants and wants and wants. It’s what Harry does to him.

Green’s Summary: Louis falls flat on his face for Harry. Harry is very pretty. They’re really cute and in love.

Hey guys! I’m so sorry that posting has been so off. Both Blue and I have just been swamped as of late. I’ve doubled up on my college courses so I’ll be finished with school in March and last weekend I was in Myrtle Beach with my daughter and fiancé. Anyways it’s been busy, but I’m back to review a small little fic that I’ve actually been meaning to read for a while: Grenadine Sunshine by objectlesson.

I have heard wonderful things about objectlesson and their Xfactor era fics, but I just never got around to reading any of their work. I am so glad that I finally did because I finished this fic in an hour and I’m still all messed up and sparkly over it. I’ve just been in the mood to read xfactor era lately and I certainly made the right choice by delving into Grenadine Sunshine.

Listen, one of my ultimate headcanons is Louis just being knocked on his ass by Harry. Like just completely obsessed and fucking head over heels for him. Objectlesson certainly delivered on that headcanon and made it even better than I could have ever imagined. The way they describe Louis first seeing Harry:

“When Louis sees Harry for the first time, before he has his name or knows anything about him, the word that flashes across his mind is beautiful. It’s like lightning streaking across a storm-black sky, sudden and hot and electric, blinding him before it’s gone, replaced with a creeping, distant, hard-to-pin-down sensation fluttering in his chest. It’s not shame, exactly, but maybe something like it.”

You can literally feel Louis being bowled over this description is so good. This type of description is something objectlesson keeps up throughout the story. One of the most important things for me while reading is getting a good look into the narrator’s head and this story receives an A+ for that. The reader is allowed into everything Louis is feeling and I love it. Just how fast and hard Louis falls for Harry is amazing and it’s not presented in a cheesy overly romantic way and I love that as well.

(New drinking game take a shot everytime Green says “love”)

The writing is very honest and real and completely believable. There were no moments where I was cringing because the lines were too big for them. Everything Louis thought and did felt so right because his characterization was so fucking brilliant. It is hard for some authors to nail a good characterization in 50k words objectlesson does it in under 20k. That’s brilliant.

I also loved Louis and Harry’s relationship with typically “feminine” things. Like the makeup that became a huge part of the story and Harry’s blue onesie. I honestly cannot believe objectlesson found a way to make Harry’s blue onesie endearing and attractive – if that’s the right word. The blue onesie was attractive to Louis at least and I find getting that across must have been quite a feat.

I loved how it was Louis that really made Harry comfortable being himself his “true self” as Louis described it. I think back to that radio interview where Louis held Harry’s hands while he had his nails painted and now Harry paints his nails often and I remember why I cry so much. Anyways, I loved that Louis always made Harry feel very pretty and made sure Harry knew that it wasn’t weird to like makeup and pretty things.

I feel like from the moment Louis first talked to Harry I was screaming “kiss him kiss him kiss him” so the way that the kiss finally came about was perfect as well. There was this insane build up in the story where all of their interactions just get more and more tense and I think objectlesson did an amazing job of balancing that tension and cutting it at the perfect time.

ALSO. About this kiss. Objectlesson does something so simple but so mind blowing I was literally shook. So when Louis is kissing Hannah he keeps his hand palm down on his leg because he has no instinct to touch her. Okay fast forward to when Louis is kissing Harry and he “gets a hand in the neck of the purple hoodie” and “he can feel Harry’s heart beating in his throat where one of his pinkie fingers is resting.” Like I was just in awe of this writing because objectlesson doesn’t come out and explicitly say “Louis likes kissing Harry more than he likes kissing Hannah,” they show you that he does. Louis responds immediately to this kiss. I don’t know I thought that was just really clever and I loved it so much.

Okay and the question that Harry asked at the end was so perfect? Harry wasn’t living in Louis’ head like we were so he didn’t understand Louis’ motivations and I just thought Harry asking for clarification was so spot on and important. Miscommunication? Harry doesn’t know them. Both Harry and Louis were the perfect amount of confident and insecure and I loved it. Objectlesson did an amazing job of characterizing them as teenagers and giving them the thoughts and actions and flaws of teenagers.

There really is not enough I can say about this story – just read it immediately.

Harry and Louis being cute and in love? : A+++++

I’ll definitely be returning to the author’s AO3 page and reading the rest of the xfactor era fics they have available. *I’ve actually started reading Saved Tonight send help Harry keeps tripping and I keep screaming*

Should Blue read this?: Uhm yes most definitely. I’d bet money she’s already read it though. Blue loves xfactor era fics and she loves great characterization. The fic is very well written and it’s just a great product all around. So yes Blue if for some reason you haven’t read this fic please do!

Official Summary: It's one last adventure. One last chance to be young and carefree. One final weekend before they take up their internships, their corporate positions, before they enter the real world, fresh out of university. Niall's his best mate. Liam's been there for him since they were lost, little freshmen, trying to find their ways through an overwhelming first year. Harry can't disappoint them, even if it means enduring four days with Louis. Louis, who he does share a history with, a history he's never told anyone about, not even Niall, a history he hasn't brought up in three years because it's stupid and embarrassing and confusing. Or, the one where Harry gets roped into a four-day camping trip with the boy who kissed him and never called back.

Blue’s Review: Hi everyone - sorry I haven’t been posting lately. I’ve been super busy with teaching and grad school, but I am back with a vengeance and I am ready to gush about this fic, so grab a cuppa and dive into this review. Full review under the cut!

My Shit Summary: After spending an amazing night together stuck in Liam’s bathtub after a party, Harry leaves his number written on Louis arm in Sharpie expecting a call from the boy he had an instantaneous connection with. Much to Harry’s dismay, Louis never contacts him and over the next three years he is left to do his best to avoid Louis and Louis’ unexplained dislike for him at all costs. Despite his best efforts, his best mates, Liam and Niall, force Harry to come along on a camping trip that is supposed to be a “last hurrah” before they all graduate Uni and go on with their lives - the only issue is Louis has also been invited on said trip. Angst, miscommunication, and falling (literally and figuratively) ensue.

Triggers: Explicit sexual content and alcohol use

Review: Okay so I’m going to be upfront - I absolutely love this fic and it is now in my top five favorite Larry fics of all time. In order to make my thoughts a little more condensed and organized, I’m going to break down in categories of what I loved most about this work in hopes that 1. I can convey just how good this fic is and 2. So that I actually make sense as opposed to being a bumbling, gushing mess. Here goes:

Character Actions and Movements: One aspect that immediately I admired in this work was bananaandboots’ description of each character’s movements. It was so incredibly well-thought out and just so detailed. The way they were able to cause me to perfectly visualize how each person was moving and interacting with their environment was amazing. I feel like this is something that is often overlooked by writers and readers alike and I just want to give a huge shoutout to bananasandboots for being able to effectively allow me to visualize their fic while reading it. I felt so immersed in this world that bananasandboots had created and their depictions of character movements was such a large factor in this.

Portrayal of Characters: I’ve mentioned before that I am very, very picky when it comes to how writers portray Harry and Louis. I prefer to read fics that actually remind me of their unique personalities. Fortunately, this fic is a prime example of this. The motives behind Harry and Louis were just so fitting. The things that they said and how they interacted really stood out to me. This allowed me to actually hear them in my head when I read their dialogue - nothing felt awkward or ill-fitting. The banter between Harry and Louis was so spot on and felt organic. Harry as this confused, slightly lovesick, and fiercely loyal guy felt right. Louis as this witty little shit who uses humor and anger to hide his true emotions felt right. There was nothing I would change about the way bananasandboots decided to write their versions of Harry and Louis. Also shoutout to their characterizations of Niall and Liam, because they were fantastic too. The “never have I ever” scene stands out as a moment in the fic where you can really see bananasandboots carefully crafted characterizations shine.

Balance Between Dialogue and Descriptions: Often when reading fic, I find that there are two types of writers: those who rely on overly lush descriptions and those who rely solely on dialogue to drive their fic. Bananasandboots is neither. This fic struck a perfect ground between giving me these heart wrenching, beautiful descriptions of the setting and Harry’s internal monologue and incredibly well-written dialogue. There were no points in the fic where I felt like I was skipping over needless descriptions or getting bored with repetitious dialogue. Everything in this piece felt necessary and worked towards driving the plot further.

Relatability: I think a factor for me that struck such a nerve for me about this work is just how relatable it was. Maybe it’s just me and what I am currently feeling, but god damn, so many points in this fic I felt myself stopping and just being in awe of how bananasandboots perfectly described a feeling I’ve had or a situation I’ve found myself in. There is something to be said about a writer that can write something that is universally relatable. There was a particular passage that really hit me hard that I wanted to share:

"It feels like that first night all over again, the two of them uninhibited from the alcohol, lying together in close quarters, getting to know each other in some of the most intimate ways. Harry should probably be worried, put on high alert by the sirens going off in his head, the annoying fluttering in his chest that only increases with every breath Louis manages to steal from him, but he can't help it. He's only human. He'll never learn from his mistakes."

Man, even now these lines just hit me - that last part just takes you back to that moment where you’re falling for someone you know you shouldn’t or who has hurt you, but you just can’t help it. I absolutely love this line and keep finding myself coming back to it. If you read this review ever bananasandboots, I just want to say thanks for this passage and it means a lot to me.

Mood: The last point I want to address about this fic is the overall mood and tone of it. For me, this is what absolutely makes or breaks a fic - does the mood of the writing actually fit the content? And hell yes it does in this fic. The setting of the woods, the lake, the canoe scene, all of it - it all just works together to fit bananasandboots storytelling. The choice to take this concept of miscommunication and put it into a camping trip is perfect. There’s just something about this fic, guys. It just fucking works.

Lastly, I was in a huge Larry fic slump where everything I was reading just wasn’t clicking for me and I just couldn’t get interested in anything, but I decided on a whim to read this fic and I am just so glad I did. I needed this fic and, boy, did it pull through.

Would I recommend this fic to Green? 100% I would recommend this to Green. It’s got angst, which my boo Green loves, but it also has a happy ending that is so satisfactory. The fic feels so complete and so full circle and I know Green would appreciate it.

Green’s Summary: Harry is a single dad to Andy, a budding rock star. Louis is the producer of her all girl band. Harry and Louis have a pretty immediate attraction to each other but Andy has made her father promise that he won’t go after Louis. A lot of pining and sexual tension ensues.

Hi! It’s Green here with another review. I can’t believe I actually finished when I said I was going to. The Taming of The Shrew who needs that when I can read Stylinsoncity’s The Wonderlands. Guys, I’m obsessed with this fic. I’ve literally just finished it (at work!) and I cannot even think straight it was so amazing. Every chapter – every page – was so much better than the last one. THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. THE DECLARATIONS OF LOVE. I feel like I’m not even processing anything right now. My brain is just screaming: incredible, beautiful, amazing, talented. Picture me as Lady Gaga in that interview right now. Anyways, I guess I’ll stop screaming and we can get into the grit of this fic yeah? Here is my review for Stylinsoncity’s The Wonderlands.

While this is the only fic by Stylinsoncity I have read she has written quite a bit for the fandom. To The Ends of The Earth, Love is Divine, and The Impossible Now seem to be very popular reads. I am completely convinced of this author’s talents and will definitely be reading more from her.

Amazing. Truly amazing. Stylinsoncity is able to capture an incredible arrange of emotions: happiness, sadness, disappointment, fear. I was feeling everything these characters were feeling – I was right in the thick of it with them. There are really good writers within the fandom but this author and this fic are just shining right now. I don’t know who betaed this fic but they did a fucking incredible job. If Stylinsoncity did it herself then I am in awe. Really. The writing here was so flawless! I don’t think I’ve seen very many people able to pull off similes as well and effortlessly as Stylinsoncity has done. The comparisons fall flat or they don’t make a lot of sense, but here in this fic she uses them to weave such incredibly vivid scenes.

Her attention to detail is impeccable. I can perfectly imagine the flat Harry lived in with the flower shop below. And I think that adds so many levels to Harry’s charm, because Harry at times is hard to root for. He’s a thirty-four year old who tends to act twenty and makes many mistakes, but still comes off as incredibly genuine and endearing. I love when authors make their characters fuck up, I really do. No one is perfect – miscommunication is unavoidable – and it works so amazingly here. I want a character with flaws. I want someone I can relate to.

It is scary how much of myself I saw in Harry. Honestly. I don’t know if you guys know (it’s in our about us page, but who reads those) but I am a mom of an almost two year old. She is the most beautiful thing on this earth and I, much like Harry with Andy, would do absolutely anything for her.

You know that moment in the fic when Andy is born:

“Later, he had time to hold her. Just the two of them (and Cassie sleeping nearby). Her eyes were shut, but when he whispered to her -- a tentative 'Hi, Andy' -- they fluttered open. She looked right at him and his world was thrown off kilter. An explosion occurred. Cherry bomb had never been more accurate.”

It’s exactly like that. Exactly. I didn’t get to hold my daughter right off the bat – I remember thinking how much I really didn’t want to. I had been in labor for sixteen hours and I was absolutely terrified, but when I finally did get to hold her it was an emotion I can’t even describe. I literally said “wow” and then your entire world is refocused. Cherry bomb had never been more accurate. So I was just in awe of actually reading an incredibly accurate response to seeing your child for the first time. And can we talk about Andy coming into this world on the tails of The Runaways’ Cherry Bomb, because that is fucking incredible and one of my favorite moments of this fic.

I also want to talk about the relationship between Andy and Harry. I had my issues with it at the beginning. I grew up in the same relationship with my mother. It is hard being your parent’s best friend and their child. It is hard for both the parent and the child to know when they’re friends and when the parent has to be the parent. I think there are certainly parts of Harry and Andy’s relationship that are romanticized in this fic, but this is fiction so not everything has to be realistic.

And it’s fine if your mom or dad was your best friend and the relationship was healthy – I just know that it’s hard. But I do think Stylinsoncity did something really incredible here, because you get to see the good and the bad with having a relationship like theirs. You understand the parts when Harry should have been a parent instead of being a friend. At least I saw that, especially in his interactions with Louis. There are times Harry needed to be a parent and put himself and his relationship first. When Harry finally laid it down for Andy and made it known how much he loved Louis, how their relationship had nothing to do with her and that he deserved Louis I was shocked. I reread that scene five times because FINALLY. Finally, Harry believed he deserved to be happy and he was worthy of Louis and I am still emotional thinking about it. This coming right after Andy makes a comment about him having no backbone. I was ready to bake Harry a fucking sparkly ass cake.

Also

Louis. Guys, you know I am a Harry girl through and through – that kid owns me – but I loved this Louis. I wanted him to win. I was smitten as soon as he appeared. I wanted to shake Harry a bit every time he made Louis upset, which is insane for me to be on Louis’ side rather than Harry’s. Those long speeches about how much he loved Harry were too much for my romantic heart to take, oh my god. And declarations of love can get cheesy and predictable and THESE WEREN’T??? They made so much sense, they hit you right in the fucking heart, and I am truly amazed at the talent of this author to deliver such beautiful dialogue.

Stylinsoncity really has perfected every piece of her writing, dialogue, and exposition. I love that even her characters recognize the cheesiness of some moments – like when Harry got a beach ball to the face when he was supposed to be watching Louis discreetly. I just love when characters are that aware.

Okay! And I have never never never never never read a more perfect we have feelings for each other scene than when Louis confronted Harry about where they stood. I mean! Louis wasn’t insecure in the fact that Harry felt something for him and he knew HE KNEW that Harry needed that extra push from him for them to go anywhere. Even after a year of avoiding each other, he knew Harry so well that he wouldn’t let Harry get in his own way. I was dying honestly. Because I’ve read that scene hundreds of times. The scene where there is obviously tension and unsaid words, but it never is talked about and someone leaves thinking maybe they don’t feel the same. But that didn’t happen HERE. Louis made Harry be honest and open in that moment and it was exactly what Harry needed and I was a sobbing mess. The communication was incredible and I am just high off life right now. This fic has really been just a breath of fresh air for me. I am just in awe. Like I need to just take a couple days off from everything and contemplate how this fic was even produced and how lucky I was to read it for free? And Jesus, I can barely think right now.

I also want to talk about Cassie, Andy’s mother. I had so many mixed feelings about Cassie and her relationship with Harry. I don’t know if we’re supposed to feel that way – but I think you end up falling in love with her. By the end of it, I was as head over heels for her as Harry was. I understood why Harry had such a hard time letting her go, because she was incredible. I want to praise Stylinsoncity again for creating this character and giving her so much personality and life and really making her the backbone of this incredible story. When Harry was weak, Cassie was strong and god I think I could read an entire fic on Cassie alone. Andy was also a brilliantly crafted character. Stylinsoncity managed to create two characters who were incredibly complex and alike but also different. You literally see Cassie in Andy, you see Harry in Andy, or you see how she is her own person. It is astonishing to me – the writing ability of this author. I really do plan to reread this fic and it is one that will stick with me for a very long time.

I hope this review does this fic justice, because it truly is amazing. I hope if you haven’t read it that, you give it a chance and I’m sure it’ll resonate with you as well, because there are so many well-developed characters to love. Cassie who wanted to love Harry and Andy but also stay true to herself, Harry who never got the chance to mature completely but loves Andy more than anything and would fight for her every day. Andy a young girl thrust into an impossible situation and trying to manage her family and her budding career, and Louis a man who has been waiting for that one special person for too long and when he finally found them he jumped right into the volcano. There is someone here for anyone to see himself or herself in.

between chaos and control

So I was going to post this review last night, but guess what happened. Stylinsoncity decided I wasn’t already having an emotional week (seriously guys I have been crying like every day since Harry walked the carpet at his first premiere) and she posted a companion piece to The Wonderlands FROM LOUIS’ POINT OF VIEW.

Of course it’s beautiful and a much needed glimpse into what Louis was feeling.

Okay! I’ve just finished it at work once again. I started it last night but co-sleeping and bright cellphones do not mix. Anyways this was a brilliant companion piece. I wanted more than anything to get a scene of Andy and Louis bonding as family and I have been gifted with just that. I’m not surprised how well they got along – but I’m infinitely happy that they love each other that much. Also Luna, the little ice cream sneaker, and Peter, the amateur FIFA player are perfect additions to the family.

Thank you Stylinsoncity for giving us another glimpse into this amazing world you’ve created. You have easily made your way into being one of my favorite authors. I haven’t read any of your other fics but I will definitely be working my way through them. Thank you so much for sharing your story with us.
