Gale never told Phlox about the rose bush story from his youth, but there's no denying that the most important rose in his life has been her. It has always been her. And like that destroyed rose bush, he hurt her too; in his ambitious chase for magic and knowledge, he unknowingly hurt the one who loved him most. But it was too late, he was gone. And like the burned petals of that rose bush, the memories of her were burned away from his mind by his new love, his Goddess. Decades passed and their paths crossed once more while on this newfound adventure they were thrust into. Memories were rekindled and his rose, although damaged and burned from her own adventures and misfortunes, continued to live amidst the flames with her love for him never faltering.

This scene and outfit combo were inspired by Elminster's letter in the God Gale epilogue, recalling the first time he met Gale as a child. I've seen many pieces of Gale pictured with roses. I'm really happy how this little idea turned out. 💜

while i did a gifset to showcase an armour set, i was also intrigued by just how different the animation is for the wizard class vs gale's unique animation:

it's amazing to see not only just how quickly gale performs the somatic component of the spell, but also his efficiency of movement compared to the standard wizard animation.

there's a world of difference here, the difference between a wizard vs a prodigy, an archwizard and chosen.

omg thank you so much ;-; let me take a moment to share the lore around Phlox's antlers

Phlox has been confused for a satyr in the past, but nope - her antlers are more like a headpiece that can be removed. Her parents are the leaders of the village of Deergarde. The antlers are to them like a crown is to a king; it's passed down generation to generation and symbolizes their power and nobility. Originally, only the leaders and the heir-to-be are to wear the antlers. However, when her father falls gravely ill and her eldest brother, Sarminar, goes missing when looking for the antidote, Phlox and her twin brother Eliros have to begin their training in case leadership falls on them. Thus, they are both given antlers.

When Phlox returns home after becoming one of the heroes of Baldur's Gate, her family decides that the antlers should remain with her: they have become synonymous with her and her legacy. They end up changing the headpiece itself that will represent their leadership.

She does decorate them with jewelry for galas and parties, and she really appreciates when Gale offers to help her. Since it's decorated a certain way, he'd study her so he could be as helpful as possible while she gets ready. It's one of those little things he does that has Phlox head over heels for him over and over again.

Since starting my OC Phlox's adventures in Faerun, a whole world of characters and lore and stories has come to life. This included Phlox's family and her 3 siblings. I had attempted an Astarion x Durge romance in the past, but never stuck with it. Then, the idea of pairing him and Eliros took shape and never let go. So, what if it was Eliros that set out to find their missing older brother, Sarminar? And what if it was he, not Phlox, captured by the nautiloid?

When Phlox is attending an important family event, serving as her brother's Champion, or representing Deergarde, then she would have a more proper and formal look to her outfits with that touch of the forest.

If she's with Gale and her friends, she enjoys a more comfortable, earthy academia / adventure-core look.

Cazador was the first big fight we took on without Gale by our side. When we returned to camp, you know that Phlox was instantly scooped into his arms with love and praise. From this time apart, Gale understood the anxieties and fears in the looming possibility of losing someone you love. Such feelings Phlox had become familiar with because of him...
