Gabriel x Machine!Reader

Surprisingly Gabriel did miss the humans. He of course, wasn’t fond of sinners, but the emptiness of the place gave him the chills. He was sent to find and destroy a few robots causing chaos in what little peace was left of the place.
What he did not expect was to find a broken down machine in Lust. Between the buildings he’d heard something moving, it was abnormal to find anything live and moving in this town. The apartments lied empty, a whisper of the bustling disgusting city this used to be. He was snapped out of his thoughts by an awful scraping noise. His eyes landed of the pitiful thing. Its metal was coated with rusted. Every movement it made sounded painful, if machines could even feel pain. He hovered above it, watching it closely. It didn’t seem to be causing any trouble, but the way its motors sputtered and struggled to move the thing forward hurt his soul.
He came down to the ground, his boots lifting up a bit of dust. The machine’s head snapped up towards him. Its gears whirling harder as it tried to lunge for him. Its legs were very off balance and it went tumbling to the ground. “You poor soul. What is it you need? Blood? Is that all your kind comes down here for?” He spat. It lifted its head weakly off the ground. He could hear the hum of mechanical parts as it slowly stood back up.
“H…help.” It rasped. Gabriel’s blood ran cold. How could it speak? He’d never seen or heard one of these machines speak before. He rushed to the creature's side. Upon closer inspection it seemed completely mechanical, except for what appeared to be a prime soul trapped inside of it. He had never seen anything like it. “H..hurt.”   Of course he couldn’t just leave it here. You would certainly die, and you seemed to be the only other sentient creature down here besides him and the other primes. He scooped the broken thing up into his arms. Slowly flying up to purgatory. It was the only place he could think of. He wasn’t sure he could take you up to heaven. You were down here for a reason right? ~ You were thirsty. It felt like it had been years since you’d eaten or drank anything. The sun beat down on you endlessly. The sand coated your body. It hurt. You heard the sound of slaughter at some point. You weren’t sure where it came from, it was hard to focus on anything but your thirst and how hot the sun was on your…flesh. You lifted up your head weakly. You could see the outline of something blue.
It was covered in blood. It stank of death and violence. You hoped it came here to end you. You closed your eyes, hearing its metal feet stomping across the sand. Finally, it was all over. You were going to be able to rest. Your body relaxed and you let out a soft sigh. But nothing came, no blows, no punches, no pain. The next thing you remember is finally being out of the sun. It's cool here, the city lights emit a gentle glow on your…skin. You finally get some reprieve. You try to stand, your legs are shaky and feel wrong. You hear the grind of metal against metal. Your heart sank for a moment.
You shakily lift your hands up to your line of sight, instead of flesh and bone, you find metal. You want to scream, but you can’t. Your..blood…runs cold. Everything hurts. You thought you were still human…you thought the horror was finally over.
In your confusion you try to lash out at the thing walking towards you. If it spoke, it didn’t register to you. You collapsed head first into the ground. It hurt, but the pain was nothing compared to the distress of you realizing you were no longer human.
The next thing you knew, the pain was gone. It was replaced by the eerie feeling of bird chirping. Normally, that would be comforting, but it sounded…wrong. You let out a shaky breath, your chest rattling and squeaking as you did.
You sat up, looking around at your new surroundings. This place looked peaceful, but a bit off. The sky looked fake, the air smelled clean, a bit too clean. The figure was still there. You wanted to jump up and defend yourself, but your rusted joints wouldn’t allow it. “What do you want?” You snapped, pulling your limbs closer to your body to cover what you think is still your vital organs. The figure appeared to be an angel, his body was large, his wings let off a soft and subtle glow. He had a helmet on, his voice didn’t seemed muffled by it. “I wanted to help…are you feeling any better?” His voice was soft but stern, he spoke in a strange way. Not that you really remembered what it was like to be human, but the way he spoke seemed off. “I can’t move... Help.” You said flatly, you assumed this thing wouldn’t help you. Why would it? Every creature down here was out for blood or suffering or just defending itself. You knew that. But the angel disappeared. Its like you blinked and he was gone.
Maybe you were losing it? Or this was your last few moments on this Earth? Who knows, you felt unconcerned and uncaring. Nothing matters in a place like this, you wished the thing would’ve let you die where you laid, or just put you out of your misery.
Yet here you still stand, heart? beating and all. You laid down on the fountain in the middle of this room. You turned to face the water. Watching it rush down the marble and make a relaxing sound. You closed your eyes and enjoyed the moment. When was the last time you could relax? You weren’t sure.
“I was able to find this on the surface. No one really goes there anymore, and you surely aren’t allowed there, but this should help.” The voice startled you. You turned to face it. The angel. He was back and holding a bottle of something. You slowly sat up to face him, seated on the edge of the fountain. “Thank you.” You responded flatley. You noticed how different your voice sounded than what you remember it sounding like. He approached you, leaning down and applying the liquid inside the bottle to your joints. They began to loosen up, and you finally felt the pain subside. You let out a soft sigh of relief as you flexed your body, finally able to move in a full range of motion.
“There you are, machine. You should be able to move normally now. I would advise staying here and not killing any residents.” You weren’t sure there were any “residence” to kill here. It was dead silent, but regardless you nodded your head. “Have you seen another machine? Its blue.” You took a long moment and then recalled the desert. The sweltering heat. And…another figure. You nodded your head again. “Yes…in the desert, he was killing things.” Your face contorted in the memory of the intense pain and suffering you experienced there. You felt a shudder creep up your spine. The angel placed a hand on your head. The weight of it surprised you, as if you hadn’t been convinced he was real. He pat your head. “Thank you. You’re saving what’s left of Hell with your information ,machine.” Your heart suddenly sank. Hell? You’re in hell?! You suddenly screamed, and clutched your head. The angel looked shocked and scared. He loomed over you, unsure what to do. “What is it? What happened? Are you hurt?” “I’m…I’m in hell?” Your body shook, you figured you would be crying if you had tears to cry. You looked up at the angel, his eyes full of concern and confusion. “Yes…yes of course you’re in hell, where did you think you were?” His calmness of the situation made anger rise in you. You hadn’t been an amazing person, but you were by no means a dirty sinner either. You swiped at him, your metal claws hitting his armour. He jumped back, you both stood still, watching each other, before you lashed out. “Get the fuck away from me.” You spat coldly. He looked wounded, but slowly retried further from you before disappearing from your view. You curled up on the cold marble of the fountain, and let the water sounds lull you into deep thought. Not sleep of course, you couldn’t sleep anymore, you were dead.
That fact filled you with dread.
