ISHA UPANISHAD VERSE 1

ईशा वास्यमिदं सर्वं यत्किञ्च जगत्यां जगत् | तेन त्यक्तेन भुञ्जीथा मा गृधः कस्यस्विद्धनम् ||

Everything in the universe is enveloped by the Divine. Enjoy life by renouncing attachment; do not covet others’ wealth.

This verse teaches that the whole world is filled with the presence of the Divine. We should live enjoying what life gives us, but without greed or possessiveness. Let go of attachments and don’t desire what belongs to others.

In today’s fast-paced world, this verse reminds us to find contentment with what we have and avoid unhealthy competition or jealousy. It encourages living sustainably and ethically, knowing everything is interconnected.

Think of sharing resources at work or in your community without hoarding. When we’re not driven by greed, relationships and society flourish.
