I was wondering if you’ve experienced any pink flashing since you upgrading your GPU to 12 GB vram. I’m thinking of investing myself in some sort of upgrades, but I figured I’d ask you first.

Hello! Sorry for the late response, it's taken a while to gather an answer. So, I ended up having to abandon my old save on my old computer in the middle of a big wedding party because I tried to play through it like 3 times and couldn't get through it without getting pink then a crash. However, last night I copied my old folder onto my new PC...and played through smooth as butter. No trace of pink, no lag or stuttering, no crash. I was scared of finding the answer and being disappointed but from the small amount I've tried actually playing under heavy load on my new PC, yes it seems to be better!

Update!
This has now been remade as a patch meant to load after both mods, rather than a replacement of Epi's mod.
You don't really need to update if you have the old replacer version, but this patch version is more future proof for Epi's main mod potentially being updated. Remember to grab the main mod if you download the new patch version!

Sims 2 Mod Patch: Epi’s Toothbrushes by Color Traits + Simler90’s Utility Mod Compatibility Patch
A compatibility patch between Epi’s Toothbrushes by Color Traits and Simler90’s Utility Mod, so that you get the features from both and therefore teeth brushing contributes to the water bills. Made by following the instructions Epi kindly provided when I asked (and more in the comments because I was more of a noob back then). Epi asked me to share this, so here it is!
Ensure this mod loads after both mods.
As of 4th April 2024, this is now a patch requiring loading after both mods, rather than replacing Epi's mod. If you have the original replacer version, you don't have to udpate, but if you do, ensure you grab Epi's Toothbrushes by Color Traits too.

hi there, you seem to be busy lately but i hope this reaches you. just wanted to let you know that the veranka easels in your "More Functional Easels with Hobby Enthusiasm Gain" download do not have the recolours bundled with them like all the other easels do. the packages just have the mesh and one single recolour
Thanks for letting me know! Update!
Added in recolors for Veranka's 4t2 Easels and Steffor's Artist Easel, and adjusted the prices so that they are now just +/-100 difference from the maxis easel instead of being drastically cheaper or more expensive, also further shortened the filenames and added my name so its easier to find where you got the files from.

Sims 2 Mod Edit: More Functional Easels with Hobby Enthusiasm Gain

I’ve always loved the more functional easels, the initial idea came from AnoeskaB who made the Maxis Easel more functional. Then, @fracturedmoonlight made several new easels with this added functionality, many of which being 3t2 conversions. After that, @drewinthesky then combined AnoeskaB’s More Functional Maxis Easel and Fractured Moonlight’s More Functional Custom Easels with gdayars’ Diagonal Easel Mod, so this awesome set contained the maxis easel and a gorgeous bunch of custom easels with both added functionality and the diagonal placement fix. Drew In The Sky then made another set, with even more easels, some converted from the Sims 4 by Veranka and added both the additional functionality and the diagonal placement to these easels too.
However, the problem I’ve always had with these awesome more functional easels is that they did not have any enthusiasm gain, meaning sims who used them would not gain enthusiasm in the Arts & Crafts Hobby. I’ve taken this community effort one step further and added hobby enthusiasm to the more functional, diagonal usable, maxis, 3t2, 4t2 & custom easels!
I’ve made a couple more edits to these easels too; I’ve compressed them, merged in any recolors with the mesh file, changed the filenames to the format most friendly for loading times (reduced length, removed spaces, etc.) and also updated the in-game catalog descriptions to better reflect and give credit to all of the creators involved with this project. As of the latest update, I’ve also adjusted the prices so now they are just +/-100 difference from the maxis easel instead of being drastically cheaper or more expensive.

It took me quite a long time to get my head around this community project, and before I understood that it was actually Drew In The Sky responsible for the most and most up-to-date versions of these easels, I asked the lovely Fractured Moonlight for permission to add hobby enthusiasm to their custom more functional easels and they kindly granted it. However, since it was actually Drew In The Sky’s edits that I built upon, I can only hope they would grant permission too but sadly seem inactive.

Update!
I've now changed how I use the interest points scale. When sims chat, they will generally react positively to an interest topic as long as they have 4 or more points in the interest. So, I figured it didn't make much sense for 4 interest points to be scored as -1 in my calculator. Instead, my scoring scale now goes from -4 to -1 for interest points 0-3 then from 1 to 7 for interest points 4-10. No number of interest points should be scored as 0 since I figured they are always either disinterested or interested, never neutral.
This change is purely informational (in the headings and pictures etc) and the calculator would still work if you continued using my old suggested scale of -5 to 5 or even just 0 to 10. But, I figured I'd share my idea!

BellaDovah’s Sims 2 Aspiration Calculator

This is my own personal method of calculating which aspirations to give my sims. You can save a copy of this Google Sheet or download it as an Excel Spreadsheet for your own use. My calculator is inspired by TeaAddict’s and Shirley’s (the one PleasantSims uses), but mine is unique in many different ways.
​This calculator (optionally) takes both Personality and Interests into account. I play rotationally so I have a lot of different sims and its important for me that they each feel defined and varied. For many reasons, shown by my No Zodiac Chemistry mod, star signs have no meaning in my game so basing aspirations on these is out of the question. So, I personally use my calculator by filling in both the Interests & Personality at the same time and then taking the highest score as the Primary Aspiration and the second highest score as the Secondary Aspiration. However, there are many different ways you could use this - you could just use it for Secondary Aspirations or even just for Primaries, you could just use the Interests column and leave the Personality column blank or the other way around, you could use the Personality column alone to calculate the Primary then the Interests column alone to calculate the Secondary, or the other way around. There are also several different scales you could use for the Interest points. There are so many different options!
​Which aspirations some of the interests belong to are different compared to Shirley’s original calculator, such as Sci-Fi now belonging to Knowledge instead of Pleasure and a few other things like that that make much more sense to me. However, what is most unique about my calculator is that it actually takes opposites into account and subtracts from the scores. For example, if a sim has 10 playfulness points, their Knowledge score is reduced by -5. The interest points are also intended to have a similar idea…

Sims 2 Trait Mod: No Multiple Loves / Woohoos / Makeouts Wants for Hopeless Romantics

I made my first trait mod! This mod stops the ‘Have X loves at once’, ‘Makeout with X different sims’ and ‘Woohoo with X different sims’ wants from rolling for sims who have the Hopeless Romantic Trait, regardless of aspiration.
I made this mod because I got a bit sick of every Romance Sim being a sleezebag, slimeball, whatever you want to call them! Sometimes, in cases like Romeo Monty, I think Romance Sims can be all about showing just one person how much they love them.
An optional alternate version for the Aromanticism Project is also available!

As you may have seen from my recent posts, I now have my very own website!
This means there will be a few changes regarding my content. Nothing major though, as I'll still post about every new mod, mod update, or pretty much anything else here on tumblr so you don't have to worry about missing anything! I'll still be as active here as ever.
However, in some cases, the description here will be shorter and the full description will be on my website (and sometimes, Nexus Mods too).
The primary download source for all of my creations will now always be directly from my website.
I much prefer the idea of the full description and the download being in the same place, attached to one another, rather than separate file links that can end up floating away from their original source and description.
Any mod that is an addon, edit, or compatibility patch of another mod will still have a secondary source of SFS.
But, any mods by me that aren't building on anything by anyone else will have their secondary source on Nexus Mods.
Furthermore, for any mod that is made entirely by me, so is not built on anyone else's mod and I've not had to get help from anyone else, I will be trialing a short early access period for my Patreons before their public release when they will be directly downloadable from my website and Nexus Mods. So, any mod that involves any other creator in any way will still be immediately publicly released.

Heya! Just saw your post about the holiday mod by piqiwi and I have the same problem with the work schedule not restarting after a holiday. I really love this mod in theory and I really want to use it but I had to take it out for the reasons you listed. I really hope someone can fix these issues :/
Glad to know its not just me! I hope I can fix it one day but I don't have much confidence in doing so so I really hope someone else will look into it!

Renaming "sale price" to "Quarter Tile" in SimPe
Notes on how to change "sale price" in the OBJD resource to "Quarter Tile" in SimPe, for versions up to and including 0.75.68

The OBJD entry 0x0022 is mis-named in versions of SImPe prior to 0.75.69 as it is used to determine if an object can be placed at quarter-tile offsets and not its "sale price".
Fortunately, it's fairly easy to both rename this entry and move which section it is in. (As it sits better within the "User Placement" section, not the "Catalog Price" section.)
1) Before starting SimPe find out its directory path, you can do this by right-clicking the shortcut and selecting Properties. The info you need is the "Start in:" directory.

2) Start SimPe
3) From the File menu, select Open…
4) Navigate into the "Start in:" directory noted above, then into the "Plugins\pjse.coder.plugin" sub-directory and select the GlobalStrings.package file.
5) Sort the resources (they should all be STR#) by Instance and scroll down to 0x00CC "ObjectDefinition (GLUA) Correct to BV" and select it.

6) In the Plugin View tab, scroll down to entry 0x0022(34) and change it from "sale price" to "Quarter Tile".

(If you want you can change any other entries here, for example, 0x0061(97) from "Vacation Sort" to "Holiday Sort" depending on your language preference.)
7) Commit, save and exit SimPe.
8) With a plain text editor, for example, Notepad, open the file "{Start in:}\Data\objddefinition.xml"
9) In the "<category name="02. Catalog Price">" block, find the block of text <property type="short"> <name>sale price</name> <help>sale price</help> <default>0</default> <index>34</index> </property>

and Cut and Paste it into the "<category name="05. User placement">" block.

10) Change "sale price" to "Quarter Tile". (This step is not strictly necessary as the displayed text is taken from the GlobalStrings.package file, but it's good to keep things consistent.)
11) Save your changes and exit the text editor.
12) Restart SimPe, open a .package file with an OBJD resource and check that it has worked.

I'd really love to fix The Sims 2 Holidays Mod but I can't figure it out😖
I really love the concept of Piqiwi's holiday mod but it has quite a few bugs unfortunately.
I successfully managed to fix sims getting paid for days they wouldn't have been working thanks to @nopke.
And, @jellymeduza implemented a workaround for the problem that it causes the walk to work interaction to be missing completely.
But it has more problems I haven't been able to resolve yet.
From my experience, once a holiday has happened, the sims work schedule will never actually restart, so even on a non-holiday day, there'll be no 'sim needs to be at work in one hour' and the carpool will never show, not until I force off-world errors with the batbox.
Another annoyance, especially with the community time project, is that if the sim is off lot on a holiday at the time they'd usually get paid, they will never get their holiday work pay.
Who else uses this mod? Who else has experienced these problems? Does anyone know how to fix them or have any ideas about how to?

Can someone please explain to me the benefit of using the Easy Inventory Check for making Traits mods?
I'm probably just being dumb here but I'm not understanding what makes using the Easy Inventory Check easier or better than just the normal Manage Inventory call. I'm wondering whether it's worth updating my Hopeless Romantic Mod to use it or at least just use it for new traits mods from now on but atm I'm just not really seeing why. Can someone explain? Thanks

This is so cool! It must be really exciting to get a new story to play based on this. I've not yet played Pleasantview (ikr) so I'm not sure how much I'd change things up for my first time, maybe I'd use my calc just for premade secondaries, or maybe just wait until they age up once before recalculating like I did with Veronaville. I really hate the personality + zodiac mismatch of the premades and how a 'random' zodiac sign can ruin chemistry so thats why I made my No Zodiac Chemistry Mod.
Btw, I'm not sure when you made a copy of my calculator, but if it was after I made the change to my interest scale which I have not updated in the description then I do apologize, I'm working on moving the description to my new WIP website.
I can definitely see Don growing out of his womanizing ways so its so cute to see him with this new nice guy personality!
Pleasantview Reimagined: Don Lothario

Have you ever wondered how different the premade sims and storylines would be if the developers actually stayed true to their interests and personality? No? Just me?
I stumbled across @belladovah's aspiration calculator which calculates the aspiration based off of their personality AND interests - this takes the "whole sim" into account, and it makes sense to me that this is how you would develop their "truest" storyline and lifetime want. I started plugging in some data from the Pleasantview premades and WOW - what a different story that paints!!!
I also found that there's not a single PV sim besides Herb Oldie that has the correct zodiac sign (determined by personality points) and this is huge when it comes to compatibility in the sims! The developers start becoming more accurate with subsequent EP's, but man - they really said "let's just make this sim's zodiac sign wrong even though our coding says a sim with this personality should be a totally different sign".
That gave me an idea to start a brand new Pleasantview with their updated - or what I'm considering as their genuine - aspirations, zodiacs, hobbies, and lifetime wants. I'm finding some sims are pretty on par with their storylines, while others change the dynamic completely. I'm so excited to play PV in a different way than I've ever played before - and I've been playing TS2 for close to 20 years 😅
Anyways, if you made it this far, this is an example of what I'm talking about. Using Belladovah's aspiration calculator, Don is a Popularity Sim with a secondary aspiration of Fortune. His true zodiac is Gemini vs Leo. His "One True Hobby" could be either Fitness or Sports but he has a higher interest in Sports. Because he has such a high interest in Sports, it made sense to me to have him in the Athletic career with a Lifetime Want of "Become Hall of Famer". This is on par with his interests and Fortune/Popularity aspiration.
In conclusion, Don may not be a manh0e. He just wants to be popular - with the ladies 😂 And perhaps the disappearance of Bella *was* an elaborate scheme to gain access to the Goth fortune...

Changing Hood View of Maxis items with Object Relocator
Object Relocator can be used to change the hood view visibility of Maxis objects by creating “override packages”.
Note: This feature requires SimPe to locate the Maxis scenegraph files so is subject to this caveat.
1) Start Object Relocator.
2) From the “Options” menu, ensure “Hide Local Objects” is ticked.
3) From the “Options” menu, ensure “Show Hood View” is ticked.
4) From the “Mode” menu, ensure “Make Replacements” is ticked.
5) From the “File” menu’s “Select Folder…” item, navigate into the TSData sub-directory for your latest installed EP, for “Ultimate Collection” this will be “…\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSData”.
6) Navigate further into the “Res\Objects” sub-directory and click the “Select Folder” button, Object Relocator will chug along as it loads all the 11,000+ Maxis items.
7) The "Hood View" column will display "unknown" for all but the first item in the resource grid
8) Select the item(s) you want to change, right-click to bring up the context menu and select "Show In Hood View" or "Remove From Hood View"

9) Click the “Save As…” button, navigate into the sub-directory you wish to save the override package into, enter a file name and click the “Save” button.
10) Exit Object Relocator, start the game and check your changes.
11) You can use SimPe to check that Object Relocator has extracted the selected item(s) CRES and SHPE resources into the save file and updated them as required.

I recommend that you put all such override packages into a sub-directory with a meaningful name.
