A/N: Have not seen the new Superman yet and have managed to avoid spoilers, writing for basic DC right now until I can either see the movie in theaters or streaming. This is based off of the general character and what I have read in comics😉✨️💛 dividers by @thecutestgrotto

Starting over in a new city. Metropolis is shiny and new.

Walking into the Daily Planet to start your first day as a photography editor. Getting out of the field and more in the office.

Meeting the team, Perry White, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen. A few new friends to keep you grounded.

Settling into your job over a month or so and right across from your office and work room sits a man you haven't learned the name of just yet. His glasses sit on the part of his face that peeks over his monitor all day long and the way his brows move to reflect the joy or frustration or concentration in his work makes your day just a little brighter.

Working late into the night, trying to rearrange the front page layout for the latest coverage on the most recent Superman battle when a knock sounds at your door. The computer man stands in your door with his laptop bag slung over his shoulder and an awkward smile on his face which is as adorable as you imagined.

He introduces himself as Clark Kent, and you introduce yourself. He chats with you and gives input on your layout so you can submit it and he walks you down to your car like a gentleman.

This continues every so often when you both head out at the same time. Clark joins you in the elevator and picks up conversation on some sort of topic, work or fun, and walks you to your car.

Months of friendship builds and an inkling of a crush forms because hey, he's smart, he's sweet and well mannered and he's as tall as he is handsome too and from what your not-so-secret longing looks at him tell you built as hell. Yeah, youre totally crushing on Clark Kent.

Clark Kent has also been crushing on you. He'll ask Jimmy questions about you since he doesn't get to interact with you all too often with you being a photography editor. Jimmy passes his small bits of info, your go to drink preference, your favorite lunch spot, things that make you smile or make you tense up. Jimmy tells Clark to go for it and shoot his shot cause he's 80% sure youre single. Clark thinks that maybe, maybe he could do this, but would you want him too? Lois says yes and tells him to ask you out before she does it for him. Clark smiles and stands, waving at you over his computer screen and blushes when you smile and wave back.

Imagine, a slow burning office romance with the cute hot nerd known as Clark Kent 💙
