Summary: its 2am and your sat in the rain contemplating if your crying over Conrad or it’s just the rain

A/N: Y’all this idea literally came to me during school idk i’m in the bathroom rn cuz i hate class :)

You didn’t expect this. Not at all.

After getting into a fight that night with Conrad because a guy had hit on you during the bonfire, everyone knew to leave it alone. Don’t bother you two at all.

The guys name was Josh.. jack? You didn’t recall. That’s how little his effort to flirt with you meant. Conrad was the jealous type though, something you used to find cute, until now.

He had come up from behind you and snuck a hand around you waist. You could smell it, how intoxicated he was.

“Hey, wanna dance?”

You smiled kindly, not wanting to give him any more ideas, “No thanks. I have a boyfriend.”

“Lazy ass boyfriend for leaving you out in the open, then.” You furrowed your eyebrows at this response, but tried to remain calm.

His hand wasn’t leaving your waist any time soon, which was what made you look around for your boyfriend quick. You spotted Belly but she was making out with Jeremiah, and that was a lost cause.

“Cmon, baby girl.”

You felt disgusted by this name. You wanted to get away from this guy as quick as possible. You tried to get out of his grip but it only tightened, knowing it would leave a mark there the next day.

“Please—”

“What the fuck?” You were relieved when you heard your boyfriends voice who had come in at the right moment. He didn’t look to happy, almost accusingly? You couldn’t tell.

“Conrad—”

“We’re leaving.” The guy scurried away, not realizing your boyfriend was Conrad Fisher. His death grip was replaced with Conrad’s and you prayed they both wouldn’t leave marks.

“Con—”

“Stop.”

To this you scoffed, “What the hell did I do?” But still no response. Conrad didn’t even open the door for you, and it’s not that you needed it but it was something he always did.

It was nearing 2am, and that’s when Conrad started driving. You just wanted to get home and be nowhere near him. That didn’t happen though, when he pulled the car over near the road.

“Can you drive?” You said, your sassy tone was on. Make that mood, actually.

“What the fuck happened tonight?”

“For fucks sake Conrad, the guy put his hands on me! If you didn’t get so jealous you would’ve seen that, okay?” You thought these words would cut deep, but all it didn’t was force more anger out of Conrad. Why didn’t he believe you?

That’s when Conrad got out of the car and slammed the door behind him. You followed, obviously, not done with this anger you had in your heart.

Raindrops fell on your red zip up, that was actually Conrads. He had given it to you because you said you were cold.

“CONRAD!” You yelled but he just kept walking.

“Connie come back!” You hoped a nickname, or even a soaked prayer would make him turn around at this point, but nothing. Why was he so angry?

You knew Conrad was protective, maybe even a little clingy? But definitely insecure. He had this fear of people leaving him that you couldn’t quite grasp. You had told him you’re never leaving him, and since you guys practically grew up together, you thought he would believe you. Clearly not.

“Leave me alone, yn.”

You reached out to him, and when he turned around you couldn’t help but admire how beautiful he was. You remembered when you had told him how romantic he looked with wet hair.

“Connie? What’s going on with you?”

He was cold, cold as ever, and you knew it. Conrad always had a million walls up, but not with you. Not ever. Susannah’s cancer had just come back, and you knew this must’ve had something to do with it.

“I can’t keep doing this.”

You panicked, “Doing what? What the hell?! Do you seriously not trust me when ONE guy does this?”

Conrad shook his head and took your hand, and the rain was pouring hard now. “It’s not just now, it’s always. I can’t be what you want me to be.”

We’re you asking him to be something he wasn’t? You didn’t think so. All you wanted was for him to be open and honest but for some reason that was too much. He had been harsher, meaner to everyone. Not for you. He even told you that.

“Con, don’t do this.”

“I can’t. I don’t need this. Not right now.”

Oh now you were pissed. He was treating you like garbage, something Conrad fisher had been known to do with many girls, but you must had been stupid enough to believe this would be different because you had grown up close together. Everybody knew it. Conrad had always told you to stay away from the boys that were dicks. You just didn’t think it would be him.

“Are you serious?” You felt your eyes sting.

“Don’t cry. Please don’t.”

You felt pathetic. We’re you crying? You hadn’t even noticed. It was raining so hard you thought maybe this would be the time to cry. Let it out of your system and he if asked you’d say it was the rain. Would he notice the tears? Or believe it was just the rain?

“Don’t you dare walk away.”

Conrad squeezed his eyes shut. “I can’t, yn.”

Anger filled you, “What? You can’t do me? I’m sorry I’m just a fucking burden!”

“Oh fuck off yn!”

You were shocked. He had never spoken to you like that.

“Go fuck yourself, Conrad.” You wouldn’t do it, not anymore. Not that constant one sided fighting. Before you could respond, Conrad was walking towards his car. You watched.

You watched him open the door, close it, watched him turn the headlights on and start the engine. You thought he might come back out and kiss you, but that was just hopes.

You watched him drive away and leave you in the fucking rain.

So here you were, crying and contemplating if it was still the rain.

synopsis; you've had a love for collecting seashells since you were little and you had a whole afternoon planned specifically for collecting shells, but your plans are put to a halt as the once bright sun hides behind the clouds and you're left with the pouring rain. sadden by the change of plans you text your boyfriend, steven, he knows just the thing to cheer you up. — ♡ ᵎᵎ

The happiness that had filled your body is something that one would deem childish. You planned an afternoon where you were supposed to go out to the beach and pick through the sand for shells. While you were getting ready you hadn't realized the formation of the storm clouds that began to appear. Unfortunately, as you were about to head out the soft sound of raining turned your smile into a frown.

You plopped yourself on your bed with a sad sigh, deciding to text your boyfriend Steven about the sad situation you were currently dealing with. Steven quickly informs you that he'll be over shortly to cheer you up. You waited as the thunder roared throughout your house, for Steven to arrive.

Steven hurried to find a coat and boots, making his way to the beach in no time. He spent his time carefully and concisely choosing shells that he thought you would love or ones that reminded him of you. Each shell had to be perfect for you. And even though Steven knows you'll end of talking to Belly about the sweet gesture which will than result in Jeremiah hearing about, who teased him the most for his smitten behavior towards you. In the moment it may be a tad bit embarrassing for him, but once he thinks about it later he's reminded that you spoke to his sister about it which meant that it clearly made you happy. That's what he cherished the most. Your happiness. Even if your happiness was something others saw as childish.

Tightly holding the secured sea shells Steven waddles to your place, politely knocking on the doors which leads to you springing off your bed in pure excitement. However, you were expected to see your boyfriend drenched in water holding sea shells close to himself. In that very moment you couldn't hold it in anymore, you pressed the palm of your hand to your mouth as tears leaked out of your eyes. You couldn't believe that he had went through all the trouble of getting you sea shells on a rainy day, when you followed him into your bedroom and he set the shells down you tackled him onto your bed, kissing any part of his face that your lips could find. Steven sat up with lovestruck eyes as he slight sways in circles over your overwhelming kisses. He gently pulls your face up to his and gives you a delicate kiss on the lips that makes you want to faint.

As you lay your head on his chest you mumble a string of words, "How can I be the luckiest girl in the world to have such an amazing boyfriend? "

" Because I'm the luckiest guy in the world to have such an amazing girlfriend" He smiles down at you.

Moving small pieces of hair away from your face, you smile brightly at him. Steven always had a tendency to move pieces of your hair away from your face and often smiled at you with the most loving eyes when you had your hair pulled back. Now all you could think about was how you were going to take those same shells and make matches bracelets for you two out of them. You knew that if you gave Steven a bracelet and showed him your matching one he'd put it on in seconds and never take it off even if it was falling apart.
