I've been noticing that, while Union Circle has seen a fair bit of use so far, Union Room hasn't.

I figure that might be my fault for not explaining it as well as I could have, so here goes!

Union Room is a setting similar to Union Circle, however, instead of any involved parties being able to roam freely around another universe, it's confined to a small area, ranging from a single room to a single building.

Union Room can be used for many rooms, not just pre-set ones like the ones in some Pokemon Centers. You could activate it for your home when hosting a party, for example!

Union Room still functions on invites, like Union Circle. However, a key difference is that Union Room can also be open-invite if the host chooses. If a Union Room is open-invite, that means anyone can join it, even if they weren't directly invited. Again, though, Union Room is only open-invite if the host chooses. Otherwise, all involved parties other than the host must be directly invited, and agree to the invite, like with Union Circle.

To access a Union Room, simply have your character in-universe look for invites, whether direct or open-invite, and select one. Upon selection, your character will be transported to that Union Room.

To exit the Union Room and return to your home universe, simply have your character exit the room or building that the Union Room is being hosted at. Your character will find themselves back exactly where they were right before they accepted the invite.

Introducing the Union Circle!

Ever wanted your character to visit another person's character, but they're in separate universes? This is for you!

Union Circle functions similarly to Pelipper Mail, Mystery Gift, and Magic Anons. It's a setting you can have on your blog to be enabled or disabled.

If enabled, people can send your character a "Union Request". If your character accepts the Union Request, then the character who sent the request will temporarily appear in your character's universe. More than two people can participate in a Union Circle, too!

It's important that all involved parties must agree to a Union Circle before it forms. If any party does not agree to the Union Request, the Union Circle will not occur.

Too much for you? There's also Union Rooms! These are a lot like Union Circles, but confined to a single room. People can enter these rooms to interact with characters from other universes! Once they leave the Union Room, though, they will return to their home universe.

Union Circle can be enabled or disabled at any time by the blogrunner.

If the existence of Union Circle might break your plots, don't worry, I have a solution!

Sometimes, Union Circle can't connect to certain universes. The in-universe reasoning can vary, from divine interference, to tumblr being weird and glitchy, to stress on the servers, and anything else you can think of! Think of this sorta like the "Divine Censorship" certain blogs employ to prevent characters from being spoiled on future events.

@goldenrodchef - A blog about a human named Gen, who was summoned to the PMD world, and turned into an Oshawott-Sobble hybrid. He managed to return home, but has yet to regain his human body. He frequently struggles with his inhumanity, and desperately wants to be human again. He also tries his best to help others who have been turned into Pokemon. - Very Active

@zoruascanbetrainerstoo - A blog about a Zorua named Illanero from the PMD world, who woke up in the mainline Pokemon world, and decided to become a trainer. After becoming champion of Hoenn, xey received a strange connection orb that encouraged xem to become champion of even more regions. OOCly, this blog is an excuse for me to play through the mainline Pokemon games. - Quite Active

What’s the pokeirl item bank?

It was basically a proto-Pelipper Mail. People could submit items to go in the item bank, and then people could take items out of the bank via asks.

It was the biggest way of people getting items they wouldn't be able to otherwise, before Pelipper Mail.

So, now that you have your blog set up and ready to go - what now?

In the beginning of Pokemon Ask Blogging specifically, most of us just made a character and kept it very light hearted. It was just one character answering asks, and that's really all there was to it, with a few in jokes and memes being thrown around here and there.

This is still a completely valid method to the madness. Some people just aren't story oriented, so that's usually how these things begin. However, sometimes, the opposite is true.

Should you decide not to go with a story, keep in mind that your Characters, at least, need to be present.

Your Character(s) don't have to be fully developed to start with. A basic description is all you need. Images aren't a must, but they are Highly Recommended in this format of story telling.

I've seen many do this in multiple different ways - a simple to-do list of dot points can be all that's needed for some blogs ( @askthetraveller did this for example) and that was all he needed to do his story.

Quite a few people I know make their own private Discord server to write notes into. This is a terrific way to organise different plot points, and it's good for sudden inspiration to just jot down a random thought or idea into a place only you can see.

Me personally? I use Google Docs with the same process. Here's a screenshot of chapter 4:

This can be as simple as setting up chapters and deciding how many you want, or creating dot points to flesh out later. If you're planning any kind of story, it's good to know the general direction it's heading. Add or take away ideas, put them in other places, it's okay to move things around.

Welcome to the Gilded Gaggle of Goofs, or GGG for short, a casual PokeIRL discord server with an OOC section and an IC section.

The lore is that the IC server, also called the Gilded Gaggle of Goofs, is a long-running small in-universe discord server that just recently opened its doors to the public. They get up to some very silly shenanigans, including copious amounts of Combee Movie jokes!

While it was originally focused at those with characters who have a connection to the world @goldenrodchef lives in, it's now available to almost anyone, allowing Pokemon IRL characters of all sorts!

genuinely hey guys i know this ask limit thing is gonna drain your motivation but dont let it if you can help it.

the solution is not to quit because youre scared you wont get interaction its to be as active as youre able to and willing to get more of it. its to use those 5 anons an hour you have to their fullest. its to find blogs and plotlines your characters would interact with even if its just to rb a post with no commentary. the solution is to give both engaging asks and engaging responses.

you get as much interaction as you give so make sure people want to give you interaction.

you still have your reblogs and the same post limit and everything. your interactions only noticably gonna decrease during events and ask games but theres ways to keep the fire going by spacing out responses and starting em closer to the mid point of an hour so hopefully peoples asks refresh in the middle of it. boost your own posts even if its ooc so more people see them.

dont let this community die because you're scared you might lose interaction. i will admit some of the things ive said did seem kinda fear-mongery but not once have i told you all to give up. ive told you to work to offset this. who knows, if we all try we all might end up with more interaction overall in the end.
