If you don’t mind me asking, got any headcanons for Ryuji having a big ol crush on a childhood best friend?

A/N; this came out a bit more angsty in some parts than I intended for it to, but I tried to keep the majority of it on the fluffy, lighthearted side. thank you for the request!

Ryuji is absolutely awful at hiding his feelings. He thanks his lucky stars if you happen to be particularly oblivious because he's almost on constant edge of letting it slip out, unsure of how long he could last if you were on the more perceptive side.

He's actually pretty quick to accept his feelings, even if he feels conflicted over them. It takes a few days of trying to fight them off, attempting to convince himself he just really likes you - but eventually he comes to terms with the fact that he no longer sees you only platonically.

Ryuji is.... pretty torn up over it. You two have known each other since you were children - single digit ages! - and you're the closest thing to a sibling he's ever had. You're his absolute best friend, and he's never viewed you as more than such - so the sudden budding of romantic feelings throws him for a curve, to say the least.

He fears losing you if his feelings come out and are unreciprocated; the thought of potentially spoiling the tight-knit friendship you two have had since you were younger if his one-sided feelings made you uncomfortable being his biggest fear. It’s why he tries to keep his feelings a heavily guarded secret: he’d rather lose out on having you as his significant other than lose out on having you at all.

Considering this closeness, you're the one Ryuji trusts the most with his feelings, rarely feeling shame for opening up to you. Had he been crushing on anyone else, he easily would've told you about it - !

It's almost comically awkward; many moments crop up where you can tell something is really on his mind, and your teasing remarks questioning if he's got a special someone on his mind did nothing but make him grow embarrassed, his face redder than it had been - “Shuddup!”

Another fear keeping him from telling you is your reputation. Lord knows what people say about you just being his friend, especially after the falling out with the track team, but as a couple? You've put up with jabs here and there, letting the insinuations from students and teachers alike that you're probably as equal a delinquent as he is just for being friends with him roll right off your back, and while you always insisted that you didn't care in the slightest, Ryuji doesn't want you or your reputation to suffer any more because of him.

He becomes extremely protective over you once he accepts his feelings. He was already pretty protective over you when his feelings for you were only platonic, having no problem standing up for you if someone was giving you shit, even if you were more than capable of standing up for yourself. The resulting scuffles between him and the antagonists were always more than worth it in his eyes, but you'd always chide him for being so impulsive and reckless, though you both knew your respective actions were only out of care for the other.

He starts inviting you out more often than usual, as often as he can without coming across as clingy; arcades, Ogikubo’s ramen shops, Dome Town, his place (his mom absolutely loves you and is always more than happy to have you over) - you two were already practically glued to each other beforehand, but as his feelings for you grew, his heart would skip a beat whenever the opportunity to spend more time in your presence arose. He always makes sure he has enough money on him for the outings to be his treat, as well.

While he won’t show it, he does get jealous if he thinks you’re interested in someone else. His jealousy is shown through an increase in his protectiveness over you; vetting the hell out of whoever it is he thinks you have eyes for. Though that’s not to say it’s easy for him, because it isn’t at all - to Ryuji, regardless of whether or not it’s him you’re interested in, your happiness and safety are his top priorities. He’d rather be dammed than see you end up hurt.

Assuming his feelings develop during the events of the game, after awhile they become too strong to keep bottled up, and he ends up talking to Ann and/or Akira about it. He trusts the both of them the most out of the Thieves, and figures that if anyone could offer tips and advice on that sort of thing, it was those two.

Many times does he come close to blurting his feelings out, especially when the two of you are alone. Just having you next to him is enough to get his mind racing, especially whenever you touch him; even something as innocent as a punch to the shoulder after he retold the same dumb joke you’ve already heard a million times gets his heart pounding.

In all actuality, when his confession does eventually come, it’s much more soft, albeit a bit hesitant in tone. It’s most likely late in the evening when it’s just you two alone and he feels the moment is right.

Ryuji knows he’s not the smoothest with words even at the best of times, but it doesn’t stop him from taking a breath and trying to gather his composure, nudging your preoccupied self gently with his elbow to get your attention with a quiet “Hey,”

"I.... Listen. You've been with me through thick and thin, y'know? You've been puttin' up with a lot 'cause of me, and.... I never wanna lose you. I don’t know if ya get what I mean, and I get it if you can't see yourself feelin' the same but.... I want more with you."

Hey! I was hoping you could write some fluff headcanons about what can make Akira lose his cool. We all know how suave he is, but what can his s/o(female preferably) do to throw him off his game?

Hey! This was actually such a fun request and I brainstormed a lot before writing it down. Personalities like Akira are really attractive to me, but what makes people like him more fun is throw them off their game and see their reaction. When I saw this request, I thought it would be so fitting to put it up on valentine’s day since it’s cute! Thank you for the request.

What can his S/O do to make Akira lose his cool? (Fluff)

First of all, making Akira lose his cool will be a lot of work

It seems like whatever you try to make this calm expression of his fade into a surprised or even blushing one is fruitless

Nine out of ten times Akira exactly knows what to counter and it’ll just lead to you being at a loss of words or being the blushing one

Akira is a tease – you don’t want to blush in front of him

But it is not like you don’t know him as his girlfriend

Just because his act is pretty solid, doesn’t mean it is unbreakable

If you learn to become good with your words or you already are, playful debates or sudden exchanges of compliments could make him sway

For example, if he gives you a sudden compliment with the hidden intent of seeing your surprised face, just look up to him, keep your cool and throw one back at him

Especially if it doesn’t normally happen like this and you usually blush, keep your cool

Akira will probably just stare at you for a short moment, not knowing what to answer and just continue doing what he had planned to do in the first place

You can’t pull that one again though!

Akira’s a quick learner, he’ll remember that and keep on coming up with sweet words right on the spot that are guaranteed to make you lose your cool if you plan to do that again

Not that he wouldn’t enjoy it, he loves to see your flustered face, but it’s about you wanting to win this

You have to come up with something unpredictable for someone who can predict and adjust to things quickly and easily

He’s brewing coffee for you, absorbed into his own world and really focused on making it exactly the way you enjoy drinking it

Usually when Akira walks around the counter to place the cup in front of you, you’d thank him with a cute smile that does make his heart melt, but he can act like it doesn’t faze him

Which is a total lie

He predicts this reaction of yours after all

If you’d pull him a little closer by his apron to plant a quick kiss onto his lips before thanking him, you’d be met with a surprised look on his face, a little bit of blush creeping up his cheeks

“What was that for?”

“Thank you.”

Akira is touch starved, that is for sure

Unexpected, sudden physical intimacy is something he can’t predict from you

The two of you are enjoying the evening in his room, re-playing one of the few retro games he owns when you scoot closer to him on the shared bed, head nuzzling against his cheek without further warning

Akira would try to keep on focusing on the game and you’d notice his grip on the controller getting harder

Take the chance to look up at him and catch the blush on his face he simply couldn’t control at this point

Accidents were far from uncommon, especially in a city the size that was Tokyo; heavy traffic, the unpredictable public, subways lining the entirety of the underground - it never came as a surprise when some sort of accident occurred, though most never made major news unless they were particularly severe.

Akira had the budding worry that something had happened when you didn't turn up at LeBlanc that afternoon after school like you said you were going to, and that worry only grew as the day went on and you didn't return any of his texts. He fought off the urge to call you, not wanting to interrupt you in case your lack of response was due to you being busy.

Still, though, he couldn't shake off the anxiety that was gnawing at the back of his mind as the afternoon bled into the evening and still he had no word from you - something very unlike you.

After getting the news, he's rushing to the hospital to be with you the second he can, postponing any other plans he had.

Whether it was your family, a guardian, a doctor, a friend - whoever it was that gave him the call, the first thing he asks them when he gets there is if you're okay. What happened and what's going to happen next take a back seat until he knows for certain that you're okay and in one piece.

He won't show it, but his heart silently shatters when he realizes that you don't remember him. While he knows that your memory loss was from head trauma caused by the accident, it doesn’t make it any less painful to hear you ask who he was, and if you knew him. He understands if you're uncomfortable with him being there given that he's pretty much a complete stranger to you at the time, but it doesn’t lessen the knife-like pain to the heart when you look at him, your eyes a swirling with a mix of confusion, anxiety, and uncertainty.

Fortunately, someone else is there to help explain who he was to you, though he's more than understanding if it takes some time for you to process this information. If you were to let him, he'd show you, on your own phone, photos of the two of you together to see if it jogged your memory some.

A form of temporary retrograde amnesia is what the doctor refers to it as; the severity and length of an episode dependent on what the cause was. Most cases were mild and typically resolved themselves within a couple of weeks, and the news that it was temporary was a relief - Akira smiling softly at how your eyes lit up when the doctor confirmed once again for you that you'd regain your memories in the near future.

Of course, this doesn't make it any easier, or any less worrying, at least initially. Akira swears to you he will be by your side as much as he can be, and help you as much as you need and want him to.

First thing's first: making sure you're comfortable, and comfortable with him. He'll stay with you for as long as he's able to, as long as your comfort permits; his voice quiet and gentle as he talks to you. He doesn't try to force anything; instead of asking if you remember him, if you remember this, if you remember that, he instead let's you ask him things, and he explains as simply but as best as he can, showing you photos to corroborate his answers if possible.

Akira does all of the research that he can. He'll talk to Dr. Takemi, check out any books he can get his hands on from the library, spend hours reading articles on his phone, the burn in his eyes from the bright screen in the otherwise dark attic going unnoticed by him as he tries to take in as much information as he can - he's absolutely determined to learn all he can so he can help you as much as possible.

He is so gentle, and so patient when helping you, especially outside of the hospital once you're released. Only with your permission does he share small details about how you are with the others, opting to invite Haru, Makoto, and Ann around before anyone else once you're comfortable with it, as they're much more quiet and calm than the rest of the Thieves. It's one by one though, at least at first, since he doesn't want to overwhelm you.

"This is Ann. She's your friend, and she's come with me to visit you. Is that alright?"

Honestly, he asks Morgana for advice, given how Morgana himself was amnesiac for some time. Even though it's..... not nearly the same given the circumstances surrounding your respective losses of memory, he wants to know if anything helped Morgana remember things about his past - no matter how small - so he can try them with you.

If you're a Thief, there is no way he's letting you back into the Metaverse until you’re completely recovered, no if, ands, or buts about it - he's just not willing to risk you not being ready yet and getting hurt. Of course eventually you'll be able to rejoin the actual infiltrations once you’re recovered, and you'll be included in meetings as your memories slowly come back beforehand, but just nothing that puts you in direct harms way yet. 

His face lights up any time he gets a text from you as you happily proclaim that you remembered something, especially if it was something that involved him. 

Your first date, your first kiss, that one time you two watched a customer accidentally dump their coffee all over themselves at LeBlanc when you were studying - anything, no matter how small or long ago it was, brightens Akira's day to hear that you've remembered.

Akira is smart, perceptive, and very keen when it comes to the world. He's more than aware that not everyone is kind and sincere with their intentions with others, and as a result he keeps an eye out for anyone who tries to take advantage of your state. If he knows that someone harmed you in the past and sees them trying to use your amnesia to get you to let them back on your good side (meaning, they just so happen to forget to mention anything regarding the incident between the two of you while talking you up as if they were one of your closest friends), he's not above using his (unwarranted) status as a delinquent to subtly intimidate them enough that they leave you alone. Whether or not he explains what was up and reminds you of what happened depends entirely on how your recovery is going; he doesn’t want to overwhelm you with the information if it's too soon, but he doesn’t want to keep something important from you if you've been making miles of progress.

Of course, you've retained basic skills such as reading and writing, but you're medically exempt from school for the duration of your recovery. While your health comes first for him, Akira lets you know that if you want to do a little bit of studying, even if it’s just some light reading for half an hour, he’d be more than happy to help you. Unsurprisingly is he a good teacher, and he has miles of patience, so if you were to at all get frustrated with something, he’s there to support and encourage you.

All in all, this boy is there for you, through thick and thin. He loves you with every inch of his heart, and he’s willing to do anything to help you as you get better.
