There is a re-occurring quest of sorts in Final Fantasy XIV called ‘Wondrous Tails’, and it is given to you in Idyllshire by a young Miqo’te named Khloe Aliapoh. Specifically, she gives you an empty journal and asks you to write down the stories of your past and future adventures so that she can share them with everyone she meets!
By re-completing past content, you can earn stickers in order to make lines across a card in a style similar to bingo, with each finished line netting all sorts of prizes once the journal is turned in. In much the same way, ‘Wondrous Tails of FFXIV’ is a multi-month event that utilizes a prompt-filled bingo card format in order to encourage participants to tell the stories in an environment with minimal restrictions and maximum possibilities.
This event is open to both visual and written media, and anyone that participates with at least one valid entry is entered for a raffle that takes place after the end of the event. However, participants do not need to worry about raffle entries or its few restrictions if all they'd like to do is take part and have fun!
> The next iteration of Wondrous Tails of FFXIV will start on March 15th and end on June 15th! <

FFxiv 30 Day Writing Challenge SEPTEMBER 1st - 30th, 2022
Welcome to YEAR 6 of our annual FFxiv 30 Day Writing Challenge, folks!
Last year we had 10,390 total entries! Which brings us to a total of 31,556 unique written entries over the last 5 years. That is just incredible! And something that I think that we should be super proud of as a creative fan community.
Once again, a quick thanks to you all for your patience with me last year as I was slow to communicate on a lot of things. I was working full-time, traveling, and very pregnant with my first kiddo - who came 3 weeks early, before I had a chance to wrap up all of the FFxivWrite2021 details. The very belated recap post can be found here if you missed it, and all winners have been contacted.
Now, without further ado, let’s get into how this challenge works!

30 Day WOL Challenge #2
June 9 // Return, 556 words
Borrowed my boyfriend’s WOL (Elerenne) for this so I could write some shippy nonsense. I’m hoping I can add on to this with another prompt. Getting started was hard today, so I am satisfied with 500+ words.
Upon her arrival in Mor Dhona, the light wind gliding along suddenly picked up. Audrieth’s braid smacked into her face at the unexpected change in direction. She could smell the market from here, as she made her way down the path from Coerthas. It seemed that the bread baker was back in town. That was sure to attract a crowd, the young woman was certain. Audrieth herself enjoyed a nice, warm baguette served up with melted cheese on occasion. But that was not why she was travelling to Revenant’s Toll today.
The Garleans were on the move and time was not on their side. In the absence of the main Scions, Audrieth, Krile, and Tataru had been working closely together, leading the remainder of the organization and managing the efforts alongside the city states as the Empire continued to push back. She liked to think they’d been doing a reasonable job of it, but in the back of her mind, Audrieth knew the clock was ticking until they would become truly desperate again. Zenos would return to the field soon, itching and hungry to fight. And there was no one in the world that stood a chance against him.
No one, except for Elerenne.
Audrieth sighed and absentmindedly pet Galamay as he leisurely carried her down the snaking stone road leading up to the settlement. Galamay was a good bird, and though she knew he missed his owner as much as she did, he had been on his best behavior. With Elerenne gone, Audrieth had immediately stepped up to care for him, ensuring that he was always fed, cleaned, and happy. For at any moment, the Warrior of Light could return, Scions in tow, and they would have to be ready.
The two of them passed under the entry archway, Audrieth giving a small wave to some of Rowena’s girls at the market station as usual. But this time, Aelina let out a gasp upon seeing her, and with a leap over the counter that would put any self-respecting lancer to shame, she dashed up to her.
“She’s back!” The highlander said, her dark eyes wide with excitement.
Audrieth’s heart stopped. She couldn’t mean Elerenne. Could she? “Wh-who?” she asked hesitantly, not daring to let herself hope.
“Who do you think?” Aelina said, “The Warrior of Light!”
The woman scarce had a moment to get in another word before Audrieth and Galamay hurtled down the rest of the hill. The elezen hurried jumped off the chocobo saddle, very nearly falling flat on her face. The guard by the door was kind enough to look concerned, but she waved it off, stuffing the reins into his hands as she barrelled through the entrance. Past the merchants, past refugees, past the other scions. And then there was one last door.
Audrieth came to a stop, letting her head rest against it. Was this really happening? How many times had she dreamed of this day, this moment, only to awake alone in bed? Her heart hammered wildly in her chest, her breaths ragged as if she had been running for malms. In a sense, she supposed she had been running ever since Elerenne had left.
No. No more waiting. Audrieth was done waiting. One more breath to bring herself back to earth. And then she threw wide the door.
