Local kids are collecting things that belonged to their dead friend.
A book on Chemistry for the 7th grade, children drawings, younger brother's book on Math for 1st grade, an Alphabet book, old photos...
In Synelnikove, Russian missile killed a whole family in their own house - a grandmother, her daughter and her two granddaughters - 14 and 8 years old. Doctors were able to reanimate the youngest child - a boy of 6.

As for me, I lived in Chernihiv for 3 months in 2017 - my Godmother invited me to stay alone in her flat for free (she was abroad) when she learned I struggled to find a place. I had to drive 2 hours for my work in Kyiv😅 But I loved it. Very atmospheric, calm and beautiful city. It is VERY old - 9th century. I would have preferred to live there if I could. My Godmother died from cancer a year later and now Moskovites are destroying that beautiful city too

This is from this morning, 17.04.2024, in Chernihiv, one of the regional capitals in the North of Ukraine.
Russians attacked the city centre. Many dead and wounded.
But here I want to take time to address a different thing. Watch with sound.
The video captured several passersby, including a young soldier on leave.
Notice how the sound of the second missile flying could be clearly heard several seconds before the strike.
Notice how the soldier reacted at once as soon as he heard it and notice how civilians... didn't until the missile hit.
So, I want to stress again: PEOPLE WATCH THAT SOLDIER AND WHEN YOU HEAR MISSILES FLYING FUCKING ACT LIKE HIM. DO NOT FUCKING WAIT TO SEE WHERE THE FUCKING MISSILE LANDS. DO NOT SQUAT OR FALL TO YOUR KNEES. FACEPLANT ON THE GROUND THE SECOND YOU HEAR THE WHISTLING AND LIE THERE DAMMIT.
Two years of war and we still have to have these talks🙄

Beyond repulsed that Ben Whishaw has agreed to whitewash a literal russian nazi in Limonov: The Ballad. A nazi whose pathetic existence would be forgotten in a couple of years unless russian director Kiril Serebrennikov decided to immortalize the romanticized version of him and market it to the festival crowd as a story of a rebel and avant-garde rock star. The Cannes Film Festival made a huge mistake by including this film in its program. Last time, Serebrennikov used the Cannes platform to advocate for lifting the sanctions from Roman Abramovich (a notorious russian oligarch) and portray russian soldiers as victims of russian war against Ukraine.

Being Ukrainian is having to accept that you are going to die in a genocide, on the one hand, so that some Vanya from Syzran can drunkenly yell how great of a country russia is, how everyone is finally afraid of it again, before beating his wife half to death, and on the other hand, a Jessica from Ohio who uses a car to get from her living room to her kitchen, can still have cheap petrol.
All while most of the world's activists are either completely silent about this or are cheering this on.

Kharkiv is under massive shelling every single day. I have a friend who lives there; she's constantly experiencing blackouts caused by these bombings, and she can't study or draw properly. Not to mention, she can be injured or worse.
Please advocate sending military help, especially air defense, to Ukraine. Without it, the chances of her, my other friends, me, my family, and thousands of other Ukrainians getting killed by a freaking russian missile or drone are growing every day.

Two years ago on this day russians hit the railway station of the Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk with Tochka-U missiles armed with cluster munitions. The strike killed 61 people (including 7 children) and wounded 121 (including 16 children). Between 1000 and 4000 civilians, mainly women and children, were present at the station awaiting evacuation from the region, which was being subjected to heavy Russian shelling. Victims' bodies were strewn around amid abandoned luggage.

Stay alive
Some encouraging posts that I had planned for yesterday, but the Russians showed their vile murderous face once again, so it was not the right time.

I hope that for every Ukrainian who has lost their home to Russia, there will be a time of recovery like this family of storks. Unfortunately, for people who have lost their loved ones, the only healing method is to achieve justice for their murders. Every Russian must pay for their crimes.
Please don't ignore our fighting, keep spreading our voices, and donate to our army and combat medics (savelife.in.ua, prytulafoundation.org, Serhii Sternenko, hospitallers.life, ptahy.vidchui.org, and u24.gov.ua).

Russian tactics are all the same
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
At night, Russians killed 4 people in Kharkiv. Three of them were rescuers. They were killed as a result of a second strike during a rescue operation.
The first drone hit a three-story residential building at 1 am. As rescuers were working at the site of the hit, a second strike occurred, killing three firefighters. Another drone hit a multi-story building a few blocks away, killing a woman. The civilian woman who died as a result of being hit by a drone in the Novobavarsky district of Kharkiv was 68 years old, the regional prosecutor's office said. The number of wounded, according to the prosecutor's office, has increased to 12, including:
🛑nine civilians;
🛑 a nurse;
🛑 a rescuer;
🛑 a police officer.

Suspilne Kharkiv shows footage of the rescue operation tonight. This man was pulled from the rubble for over three hours:
- You breathe well. Well done, Serhii! You were born a second time.
