A topic that came up at work.

So today I was chatting with a coworker about the misconceptions behind makeup, and various reasons people wear it.

When my makeup routine inevitably came up, I was asked why I wear such bright makeup up if I hate being stared at.

The “natural” look was suggested, the implication being that I won’t be stared at constantly with more nude tones and less colour.

So I had to explain. I’ve tried the natural look, I’ve tried wearing makeup that looks like I’m not wearing anything, and I’ve straight up gone outside without it. I am stared at regardless of what is on my face, because it’s my body that people take exception to. My adams apple, my obvious lack of tits, my thinning hair line, my voice, the bulge in my pants I try so desperately to hide.

It has nothing to do with my makeup.

So, if I’m going to be stared at and made uncomfortable, I may as well enjoy how I look. And that means some bright ass colours.
