Commission: You're A Good Girl, Molly McGee

Nothing could ever stop Molly’s enthusiasm; it was unbreakable and undeniable, and she had put a lot of hope into making sure her first day at school was a good one.

Then, as she was introducing herself to the rest of the class, she made a little faux pas, by pronouncing wrongly the name of the most popular girl in Brighton: Andrea Davenport.

“It’s actually ‘Ahn-drea’”, that girl of light blue hair explained.

“Isn’t that what I said?” Molly questioned.

It surely wasn’t out of bad will; the little McGee girl was legitimately confused, but Andrea’s expression sent a clear message: she better learn how to correctly pronounce that name. And fast: she was looking as if she was about to explode in anger.

“Are you… are you OK?” Molly dared to ask.

And then, out of the blue, as quickly as it came, that potentially aggressive expression faded away.

“It’s OK darling!” Andrea replied, smiling and with a bubbly attitude. “It’s your first day, and we all have our little missteps”.

Both girls got back to their seats, and the class went on.

During the rest of the school day, though, Andrea’s mind was very busy by the thought of that girl: Molly.

“She is kinda dorky” she thought as she was eating lunch at her table. “But…”

Andrea giggled at a certain idea in her mind. She was so used to dealing with her fans on social media, her sponsors and her responsibilities as an influencer, she found Molly's chill and sincere vibe.

The blue haired girl saw her with her lunch tray, and felt the impulse to call her attention.

“Hey girl friend!” Andrea shouted, waving her arm. “Over here!”

“Is that freaky gal calling you?” Scratch asked while floating besides Molly.

The McGee girl couldn’t help but to feel optimism.

“See the difference a smile and a good attitude?” Molly said proudly.

“Still, I don’t know if she can be trusted.”

“Oh, it’s all in your head, Scratch!”

“Technically, I don’t know if I could say ghosts have a head, bes–”

“Hey, girl friend!” Molly left Scratch’s and ran towards Andrea’s table.

“I saved you a seat!”

“Oh, thanks An… I mean, “Ahn-drea”. Did I get it right this time?”

“You’re getting there, sweetheart!”

Andrea couldn’t help but to think that girl, Molly, was adorable. Almost like a child several years younger, she just exudes this naive energy she couldn’t help but find so… compelling.

Molly tried to make some chat, but the blue haired student wasn’t really putting a lot of attention to what she really was saying, just how cute she looked, sharing with such a bubbly eagerness details about her life, her experiences in Brighton so far, and her first impressions for her new school and town.

“What do you think, Andrea?” Molly asked out of the blue.

“I’m sorry, what did you ask?”

“Do you like more puppies or kitties?”

It was indeed an interesting question: now that she mentioned it, yeah, Molly’s attitude reminded her of some kind of adorable and lost puppy: big eyes, lots of energy, and ready to give love��

“You know?” Andrea said as her hand lied over Molly’s. “Both of them make adorable pets…”

Molly blushed as she felt Andrea’s soft skin.

Overall, despite some minor incidents, it was a pretty good and solid way to start a school year.

But something remained in Molly’s mind, and weren’t exactly thoughts about books or clubs… but it was nothing compared to what the blue haired girl had in mind…

“Hey girl friend!” Andrea greeted Molly as soon as she saw her walking down the hallways, the next day of school. “How are you doing?”

“I’m OK Andrea, thanks for asking!”

“I’ve got a little surprise for you!”

“You do?”

“A little gift you might like.”

“Sweet baby corn, a gift?!” Molly declared, being completely unable to hide her excitement as she put her hands together.

“Here you got!” Andrea gave her a little box. “Open it!”

Indeed she did, and was surprised, to say the least, with the content of the package.

“A dog collar?” Molly shrugged.

“Oh, no, no! It’s not a dog collar at all! It’s more like how chokers are designed around here!”

“...it has my name on it.”

“I know, but I thought maybe it was a good thing, since you’re new and all: it could be a good way to sort of let others know your name right away?”.

Molly felt a little awkward with such interesting detail, and yet, at the same time, two overlapping feelings clashed through her conscience: on one hand, of course she wanted to play nice and didn’t desire to look rude for basically a gift.

And on the other hand, there was a strange alluring rush for that “choker”...

“I guess I won't lose anything by at least trying it!” Molly said as she put it on.

“Are you sure this is a good idea?” Scratch whispered to her little friend.

“Oh, I mean, she’s just trying to play nice, what’s the worst that could happen?”

“HEY FANDREAS!” Andrea greeted to her social media followers, with one hand on her phone and the other over shoulder. “I want to introduce you someone super very special for me, my newest pet, Molly McGee!”

“Pet?” the collared girl said.

“Oh, I’m sorry! I meant, ‘friend’!” Andrea clarified with the authenticity of a local politician during campaign season. “She is new to our school and I thought I would be the perfect ambassador to show her the surroundings and what we have to offer around here!”

“Hehehe… I mean, it would be nice and…”

“One sec please!” Andrea said as she cut her streaming. “Hey, Molly, I thought maybe it would be better only I do the speaking for this video?”

“B-but…!”

“Yes, thank you sweetie, now let’s go back to work! Follow me!”

“Follow you?”

Then, Molly felt the pull of a leash; she didn’t even realize that “choker” had one attached to, with Andrea’s firm grip on the other side, ready to “guide her” around the school. Her first instinct was to resist, but it hurt to do so, so it didn’t take her too long to realize the safest route was to follow her friend’s order.

“Good girl Molly!” Andrea said, blushing as she felt Molly was following her guide. “Good girl!” she added once more, patting her hair.

And the McGee girl was surely blushing as well at that moment; who knows what the blue haired girl had in mind? But she surely felt she was going to be closer to her way more than she could have expected.
