Ichigo Kurosaki and Uryu Ishida:

Ichigo is the sun. His powers are yellow and bright. He spends the TYBW arc trying to fight enemies who literally come out of the shadows because he is the light. Also his hair kinda makes him look like the sun. He is loud and passionate. He cares so deeply about his friends and radiates warmth when he’s around them.

Uryu is the moon. He wears all white and his powers are blue, both of which are associated with the moon. He is cold on the outside, but once you get past the color exterior, you’ll see that he values his friends above all else.

The TYBW arc puts them on opposite sides of the war. They are forced to fight one another, despite their years of friendship. But in the end, they come together and defeat the big bad together. They are opposites yet in many ways, they are the same, and I love them so much.

Favorite minor character?

I already answered this one, but for another answer I’ll say Zennosuke Kurumadani. He’s not necessarily a favorite but I do think he deserves more respect than he gets. Nobody in-universe knows who he is, and I’m sure plenty of people out-of-universe dong know who he is either. He’s not very strong, but that doesn’t stop him from putting his all into his job. He was so committed to protecting Karakura Town that stood against Aizen for the citizens of the town. He may not have succeeded, but he was willing to risk his life to do his job of protecting people, and I respect that immensely.

I’ll give 2

First is Izuru Kira, I love him so much, he’s a depressed bastard and yet he never wavers. What a lad. I also love his powers

Second is Liltotto. She is a little girl and yet is very much the smartest of the Bambies, being the one who actually read the special threats report and being the one to negotiate with Mayuri in CFYOW. She’s also very mature and kinda bitchy (affectionate). She is the most competent of the Quincies left (aside from Uryu).

Have you ever noticed that the book Uryuu is reading in ep. 227 of Bleach is written in German?

One of the lines ‘Alle scheitert’ should mean “Everybody/everything fails”. I never studied German, so it would be really appreciated if someone would like to barge in and point out more details❤️

I just want to say that you don't have to base the Bleach bender au off of Atla plotline. It can be inspired by Atla plotline or Lok. It can even be inspired by the Kyoshi and Yangchen novels. Heck, it doesn't even need to have a plotline, everybody can be goofballs. Or it can just be regular Bleach with some bending.

I'm not writing a fanfiction off of this. I'm just having fun. Nothing needs to be strict.

Can i get an amen to your previous post abt the Karakura/six hearts gang? They're by far the most compelling part of the story to me, and I really lament that there was no final team up against Yhwach (or at the very least an Ichigo-Uryu tag team, they narratively deserved to take down the guy who killed their mother together). I'm so glad I've found that little corner of Tumblr who gives them all the love the story deprived them of though :))

I literally just posted a response about how good a six hearts team up would’ve been, so I won’t repeat that, but I 100% agree with you

Also Uryu definitely got scammed at the end. He joined the enemy in order to betray them from within, but was ultimately unable to do anything. Even Gin at least got some damage in when he tried the whole backstabber plan, and his actions had actual consequences, but Uryu doesn’t get any significance for anything he does during the arc, even though he really should have. Even the arrow he used at the end wasn’t even his doing, his father just showed up and the end and gave it to him. The narrative just treated him so dirty during that arc and I will forever be mad about it.

EXACTLY! I would have loved a 6-person tag team battle at the end. They started the series together, they should end it together.

A big part of Yhwach’s whole thing is that he’s so powerful because he thinks of everyone as pawns and tools to steal strength from, and thus has no connection to anyone. So to defeat him with the 6 together would have shown that connection is beyond valuable, and that it’s better to go with friends than it is to go alone.

It also would have brought back the heart metaphor that’s been present throughout the series. Both Kaien’s metaphor about the heart being connections, and the “six hearts beating as one” thing would’ve fit so perfectly into a 6-person fight.

Plus a big part of Ichigo’s thing was that he always wanted to do it alone by leaving his friends behind to protect them. This would let them all stand beside them and show that they’ve all developed and they can stand together as a team.

I just want to say that this is a blog supports the Karakura crew as the main characters. The main characters are Ichigo, Uryu, Orihime, Chad, Rukia, and sometimes Renji. They are FRIENDS and the series is about them.
