Partner (cas/becca) who has a super strong child with the potential to save or destroy the world (jack/ryan) who the biological father of is the big antagonist (lucifer/ homelander)

Erik kripke created the same show twice with the same character built, the woman in the refrigerator (mary/ robin, becca) and the abusive father.

Personally, I think Dean would be horrified to call Castiel 'Cassie' because it would be a Freudian slip

They're having an argument, something similar to the many arguments Cassie and Dean used to have, where Dean knows where it's going. Where they both know where it's going and play it by ear

Imagine in the middle of it, Dean goes "I've seen stranger things happen, Cassie" and immediately gets thrown back into a flashback of the last time he EVER saw Cassie

She was his first love. She was EVERYTHING he could've ever wanted in a partner. And they let each other go, making empty promises and final words they both were aware were lies. Because they KNEW each other that well. They knew there was never gonna be a future between them, and Dean still tells her an empty lie he doesn't even believe because he loves her that much

I fully believe Cassie was Dean's first profound bond, and letting her go was his biggest act of love towards her

So Dean calling Castiel that name, being reminded of someone he had such a deep connection with before, to someone he has a deep connection with NOW?

That would send a man spiraling
