Note

are you okay with characters from the guardians of ga'hoole books not appearing in legend of the guardians: the owls of ga'hoole like hortance/mist, streak and zan, aunt finny, ruby, martin and octavia?

Ehhh I guess? I was disappointed because a lot of my favorites didn’t show up, but theres no way to fit all these characters in one movie.

I do wish they actually used the characters they already had instead of bringing in new ones though, I see no point in introducing Allomere when Dewlap essentially served the same role.

what do you think of kludd from legend of the guardians: the owls of ga’hoole being easy to manipulate?

I feel like it makes enough sense, he was still only a kid when the Pure One’s kidnapped him, and from what I remember Nyra was the first owl to praise him and reward his competitive attitude.

I definitely prefer his character arc in the books, but to be honest I’m just not a fan of the movie in general.

SandWing redesign!! Details on the design choices below the cut:

Wanted to give them a more camel inspired appearance, including long legs which help keep their bellies away from the hot sand, and allowing air to pass between their legs to cool them off. Their talons are also wide and spread like a camels foot to prevent sinking in the sand, though it’s hard to tell from the side ^^;

Dark markings near their eyes to help reduce the suns glare, big ears to dispense heat, and I added more spikes on their check bone because it’s one of their unique traits and I wanted to amplify that.

Their wings are inspired by vultures, built for soaring over long periods of time without flapping.
