Koryusai Isoda was born in 1735, and dead in 1790. In his life he served the daimyo (regional lord) of Tsuchiya, but he soon abandoned this to move to Edo. he then became a ronin ( a samurai without a master) and started his art career. He trained as a Kano printer first, but changed his course to printmaking during the mid-1760s. In 1776, he released his Models for Fashion series- which became one of his most important.

Shinto style tradition:
This style of wedding become popular during the 20th century, after the Crown Prince Yoshihito’s and Princess Kujo Sadako’s marriage. This style wedding is known for only being family members and close relatives of the couple attend. Also they don’t have bridesmaids, or a best man present. Traditionally, theres an older married coupe called nakoudo (matchmaker) attends, too. However, this hasn’t been very common in recent years.
The Reception:
After the ceremony, the groom and bride invite more people like relatives, friends, co-workers, and even neighbours to the reception party, this is called kekkon hiroen. these parties vary in size and scale depending on where in Japan it’s taking place at. The women who have been invited dress in dresses, suits, or kimonos, whereas the males wear black formal suits. If attending the wedding you are expected to send a card stating so, and if your not going you still send one stating that you can’t make it. When attending you're expected to also give the groom and bride money as a gift. The average for a friend attending is said to be 30,000 yen, which is £204.33. It’s important for the money to be placed in an envelope called shugi-bukuro with your name on it.During the reception, the married couple will sit ona stage, watching the guests’ speeches and performances. The couple will cut their cake and walk around the room, lighting candles, and greeting guests. A multi-course meal is common, with the couple changing being common, too.
The after party:
The receptions normally only last 2 and ½ hours. Once the party is complete, guests leave and go to another place like a restaurant. These parties tend to be no- host and have even more people joining.

Japan’s Culture
People:
Japan's workers use to associate themselves with the company they worked for. for example, a businessman would say "Nissan no Takahashi-san" ("I am Nissan's Mr Takahashi").
However, in 2008, after declaring that Japan's "ethnically homogenous", the 'one person, one race' idea was outdated, politician Nariaki Nakayama resigned.
Challenges for the next generation:
the younger generation will face a different working culture, as they will not have a job for life guaranteed. this is because Japan's companies want outsource work, and workers who have been with the company for years aren't needed.
as well as this, the younger generations will struggle keeping traditions the same. this is because the number of young adults never leaving their parents home has been estimated to increase by one-three million. these people also aren't paying taxes as they're unemployed. this makes providing for the elderly harder, as this popularisation is also increase.
Japan's religion isn't preached often, unlike the west. there religion is more of a moral code and a way of living. also they don't have religious prayers or symbols in a graduation ceremony.
there religion isn't spoken about in everyday life and most of Japan don't worship often or claim to be religious.
until WW2, there religion focused around a Emperor as a living God. The Japanese people saw themselves as one big family.
however, being defeated in the war shattered many peoples believes. But a voice broadcasted to the nation the new deity.
Today, they define Japan's identity more then the spirituality,  and strengthen family and community ties.
they also believe that in living nature things (trees, rocks, flower, animals, and sound) are kami (gods).
Japan also use lucky charms, each one doing different things. they attack them to their handbags, phones, in cars, and key chains in hope that it brings them luck.
they also write their prayers on votive tablets (wooden boards, called ema, that get hung around temples).
they have fortune slips, which can be in english. they state your fate based around success, money, love, marriage, etc.
Manga
Japanese manga have a range of genres, such as romance, action adventure, comedy, etc. the manga tends to acknowledge everyday problems, or situations for some people.
Tumblr media
children’s manga tends to be cute, and show way more emotion than the adult themed manga’s.
some examples of manga are “Death Note” and “Bleach”.
Anime:
not all anime is inspired by manga. for example, Pokemon was a video game before it became a manga or Anime series.
Tumblr media
the theme song for these animes are a big deal. so much so, that j-pop and j-rock artists and bands will rush at the idea of doing the opening song to the possibly new popular anime.
as well as being a manga, “Death Note” is a anime (now owned by Netflix). also “Dragon Ball Z” and “Cowboy bebop”.

For this project i have decided to do things around the LGBTQ+ community, to show my support. i have decided to do this topic because i hope that one day people won't have to explain why they're gay, bisexual, pansexual, transgender, etc.

You shouldn’t need the worlds permission to be you!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m doing good. Way better than ever, really. But there’s this buzz at the back of my brain that never really shuts up, day and night. I started to face it more directly last year but it’s not easy. The last two days were bad.
I’ve drawn about all hard topics that hurt me, so I decided to tackle this one as well. One might ask the purpose of showing things like these to thousands of people but I find it cathartic in a way, to take it out of my brain for just a little while and quite literally put it into another physical place. I also think it’s important to speak about the things that make us afraid and sad. Whatever way that may be. So, thanks for listening.

LGBTQ+ Songs Being Compared:
Kiss The Boy- Keiynan Lonsdale:
“I've been afraid of my place Of this way Of my feelings”
The use of these phrases give the impression that Lonsdale has been “afraid” on how he has/had felt.
“But I'm amazed at how we talk” This line expresses that he talks to others about his feelings now. However, it also suggests that he speeches up about it to the world.
“But theres tension What was the deal when your eyes locked on me What was the deal when you smiled at me like that”
from these lyrics i get the impression that, although peole talk about being queer as normal, he gets dirty looks from others who don't understand.
“You see I try to be cool but the problem is using my emotions up My head gets stuck”
from this quote i get the impression that he tries to act normal, but the emotions he feels from people talking bout him, gets him confused on how he should be.
“I'm scared to show just how I feel 'Cause people talk”
here i get the feeling that the singer is worried about showing his feelings as people will talk behind his back about it.
“Don't want to worry 'bout whatever Just got to know your deal”
in this one i get the impression that deals with his emotions as he doesn't want to worry. however, i also feel like he’s also saying that he doesn't wanna worry about, but wants to find out what everyone’s problems are.
“See, half the time I'm wondering if this is real Why not say somethings on my mind if I feel love But when the moments right I freeze”
from this i get the impression that the singer isn't sure if all the people staring are actually looking at him. also he mentions that he doesnt speech up about his love for someone, “But when the moments right” he’s not able to do anything about it.
“If you want to kiss the boy then you better kiss the boy right now You ain't got to be afraid of the words you want to say right now ' Cause love is a game we deserve to play out loud”
from this part of the song i get the impression that he’s trying to convince himself to kiss that boy that he loves, and that he should be afraid to do so as he, like everyone, has the right to love someone, no matter who.
“If it's all a movie then you'll see It's only about us two”
here i feel like the singer is hoping their love is like the ones in the movies, and that he wishes the world is just about him and his lover.
“But the cost of trust is that you could throw it away Maybe it's overrated I probably shouldn't chase it But I can't stop the crazy within”
here it suggests that he’s possible had untrustworthy people in his life, and because of this he doesn't know whom to believe/trust.  “I might not say the one thing on my mind cause it's too tough But we lose our chance when we don't try”
here i feel like he’s tried to say that he has tried to open up but he struggles, and sometimes the chance is taken.
“You ain't got to be afraid of the words you want to say right now”
here i feel like hes telling himself to never be scared of opening up.
“Don't want to hide, don't want to hide Most of my life I've been terrified”
here hes saying that he doesn't want to hide the truth but for  “Most of ‘my’ life” hes been scared to tell others how hes felt.
“Spending my days always questioning Am I wrong to love a man I realise I realise ain't gotta hide this heart of mine I'm gonna fight just to let you know to open your light and let it glow”
here hes telling us that although hes been questioning it, that he can love whom ever and that its find to open up.
Tumblr media
“for him”- Troye Sivan:
“We are runnin' so fast And we never look back And whatever I lack, you make up”
to me this part of the song sounds like Troye is saying his relationship is going fast, but they haven't looked back on the bad times. also he's saying that they're like a puzzle piece.
“We make a really good team And not everyone sees We got this crazy chemistry Between us”
this part tells me that him and his boyfriend work well together and have a great connection, 'but not everyone sees'.
“You don't have to say I love you to say I love you Forget all the shooting stars and all the silver moons We've been making shades of purple out of red and blue”
here its like he's telling us that you can let others know you love them without saying it, and that without one you cant make their perfect colour (purple).
“Sickeningly sweet like honey, don't need money All I need is you All I need is you, you”
here its like he's saying that his boyfriend is the only thing he wants/needs.
“We try staying up late But we both are light weights Yeah we get off our face, too easy And we take jokes way too far And sometimes living's too hard”
here I get the impression that they use drugs and alcohol to help them forget the hard times. but this could be a metaphor about the effects their love has on Troye.
“We're like two halves of one heart We are, we are, we are”
again here he's telling us that without one the other is incomplete.
“Eat a pill stay and chill, you don't need to go I'm about to bring emo back if you leave my home I'd panic at the disco and you'd rather watch a TV show”
this part is saying that he'll fall apart without his partner.
“Then I'll squeeze your booty real hard like I'm kneading dough Pizza boy, I'm speeding for ya”
the word 'speeding' links back to the drug part above, as the word is slang for amphetamine (a synthetic, addictive, mood-altering drug, used illegally as a stimulant), which then extents the idea of their love is a drug.
“We can get married tonight if you really wanna Me in a cheap suit like a sleazy lawyer And if you break this lil' heart, it'd be an honour”
here he's saying he's so in love he doesn't care when he gets married. But then he contradicts the fact that he can't be apart from his partner, by telling use he's honoured to have dated him.
Tumblr media
Comparing:
Overall, the first song is telling the listener that it can be hard when your gay, queer, bi, pan, etc. whereas, the second song is telling the listener the joy he has in a relationship with a guy.

LGBTQ+ hate crime information:
one in five lgbtq+ people have experience hate crime based on their sexuality and/or gender identity, in the last 12 months.
Two in five transgender people have experienced a hate crime/incident because of their gender identity, in the last 12 months.
Four in five anti-LGBTQ+ hate crimes/incidents go unreported, with younger LGBTQ+ people
Key findings
Three in 10 LGBTQ+ people (29%) avoid streets where they do not feel safe
More than a third of LGBTQ+ people (36%) say they don’t feel comfortable walking down the street  holding hands with their partner. This increases to three in five gay men (58%)
One in 10 LGBTQ+ people (10%) have experienced homophobic, biphobic or transphobic abuse online directed towards them personally in the last month.
What respondents said
“I had one incident where girls did not want to enter the bathroom stall I had used despite a large queue, like as if I was infected. Straight people don't know how privileged they are to not have their love questioned, or to have romantic days out and not think about who is around you or how safe you are.”
“I was assaulted by a man whilst I was holding hands with my lesbian partner. He grabbed me from behind and thrust himself into me, then verbally attacked me.”
“I had occasion to report that I had been harassed and suffered an injury. I talked, they listened, but it was their attitude and I got the impression that it was not being taken seriously.”
What you can do
Take a visible stand against LGBTQ+ hate crime, join Stonewall’s ‘Come Out for LGBTQ+’ campaign and show your support for LGBT equality in all forms.
Call out online anti-LGBTQ+ abuse whenever you see it, so long as it is safe to do so.
Support those being targeted by letting them know you are an ally
Let local business owners know if you witness an anti-LGBTQ+ incident from staff or other customers so that they can tackle it. Make clear that they could risk losing you and others as customers if they don’t
Report incidents of homophobic, biphobic or transphobic discrimination you experience when accessing public services like housing or social services to the service provider or local council so they can take action.
you can also Contact Stonewall’s Information Service on 08000 50 20 20 for advice and support
