THE SEA AND ITS SECRETS.

The EXODUS proudly sailed on the vast ocean, the captain of the ship Byun Baekhyun stood on the helm of the ship his bright blue coat ruffled in the wind he very carefully kept navigating their way along with their main navigator jongdae. They have been on the sea for the past 6 days after mining the black opal from the mines of South Wales moving towards Marlon.

Marlon was one the largest ports to exist, since the crew of exodus had constantly been working they were all eagerly waiting to get done with this shipment and have some time off.

Baekhyun finally saw the sails of other ships near the cost from afar and knew that they would arrive by dawn. He turned around and passed orders to his crewmates.

"The port of marlon has been sighted prepare the ship for berthing. I want all the crew on there respective position."

The crew started taking there respective positions. Chanyeol came and stood next to baekhyun his eyelids became squinted trying to locate the port.

"What are you doing?" Baekhyun asked with a grimace of wry amusement.

"nothing just trying to locate the port" chanyeol answered.

"Why would you? I am the captain and I just told you that we will reach by dawn so why are you doing it don't you trust my judgement?" Chanyeol kept moving forward putting almost all of his weight on the rails, baekhyun caught his shirt and yanked him backwards." IDIOT! You are literally going to fall in the sea. Where are your spectacles or binoculars? MY GOD somebody take this blind giraffe away from here."

"I just wanted to see it with my own two eyes what is so wrong with it? And you call me blind one more time imma literally forget you are the captain byun" chanyeol yelled back at him.

"okay enough chanyeol go back to your position and baekhyun go back to the wheel no more arguments." Junmyeon yelled from crew climbing ratlines.

" don't give me orders I am the captain" baekhyun yelled back at junmyeon.

"Then behave like one and do your job!" Kyungsoo yelled from other side of the ship.

"Everybody stop yelling" minseok yelled from the foremast.

"The entire world fears me and then there are these traitors" baekhyun muttered under his breath.

Finally dawn came and they berthed there ship on the port. Baekhyun exited the ship along with 2 members of the crew, as they made their way towards the meeting spot people kept staring at them.

Outside the crew people believed that baekhyun was a rude narcissistic man who was willing to go to any extend in order to complete his mission, he always spoke in money and he did not give a damn about anyone. And that was the reason why people kept staring at them.

His coat flew behind him, his face had a stoic expression, his strides were confident and he emitted a powerful aura as he entered the building. The rest of the crew had stayed back on the ship as they had zero interest in these meetings only kyungsoo and junmyeon had come along with him.

4 men sat on a round wooden table with cigar in one mans hand and wine in another's, baekhyun sat on the table while kyungsoo and junmyeon stood behind him leaning on the wall in a calm manner. The room had wooden flooring and the air was filled with the smoke from the cigars, the smell of old wine and rich silk cloth filled the air.

"so I believe the shipment is as it was promised." One of the man asked baekhyun.

" of course it is, exodus never fails on its promises we always deliver the best but the question is have you kept the end of your deal Mr changmin?"

"of course I have. 10,000 coppers for 2 crates of black opal" changmin the man with cigar in his hand replied.

"good." Baekhyun nodded his head. " kyungsoo bring the crates" he motioned towards kyungsoo to get the crates.

"Get the gem lamp" one of them spoke.

A man hurriedly brought the gem lamp and handed it over to changmin. After properly checking all the pieces they gave them the money. But before baekhyun kyungsoo and junmyeon could leave changmin spoke again.

"Well I have 1 more job for you, only if you would like to listen." Changmin spoke.

"How many coppers?" Baekhyun asked

"95,000 coppers" changmin said.

Suddenly baekhyun was very much interested in this conversation his lazy demeanour gone, 95,000 coppers for just 1 consignment damn that was a jackpot.

"Speak." Baekhyun said calmly trying to hide his excitement.

"Well first i would like to ask you something Mr Byun." The man beside changmin spoke.

"What is it?"Baekhyun asked.

"What is the most precious gem in your possession byun?"The old man asked.

Baekhyun let out a humourless chuckle and spoke." My possession?" Baekhyun moved closer putting his hands on the table and directly looked in his eyes "If you die and get reincarnated for the next seven lives even then you won't be able to have what I have. I don't have time for nonsensical questions either speak what the job is about or I'm out."

The man laughed "Right I always forget you are the byun baekhyun you've got all the precious stuff in this world in your possession but one."

"But one? What is that?" Baekhyun asked raising his brow.

"Balck painite" The man replied in a hushed voice.

" A balck Painite. But painites are supposed to be purple which are themselves very rare how do we find a black one. They haven't been found sice 1654." Baekhyun replied clearly shocked.

"Exactly but you can find them."

"But how?" Baekhyun couldn't think of anything at the moment.

"A gem virtuoso" the man spoke in a voice barely above whisper.

"A GEM VIRTUOSO? there hasn't been one since the past 80 years." Kyungsoo replied clearly confused.

"Well gentlemen there have been rumours about this young lady who has a collection of gems that are clearly very rare quality even better than yours Byun. Imagine if she begins a trade of her own you would be at the highest disadvantage."

"What's the catch?" Baekhyun asked.

"Oh well you definitely are a smart man. We want you to find the virtuoso and then find painite, bring both of them back to us take your money and leave."

"95,000 won't do its a tough job requires alot of work." Baekhyun said.

"100,000 coppers should be enough." Changmin said

"Nah, kyungsoo let's leave." Baekhyun almost got up.

"200,000 coppers." The man beside changmin said.

Baekhyun looked towards his crewmates when the nodded in agreement baekhyun also agreed.

"Now we are talking. Sign us in make the contract by night and deliver it to us." Baekhyun said.

She kept running her feet were automatically moving she had no choice, these men had been following her since azlon and even now they were behind her, not her technically her gems which she had found in the deep waters of the beryl sea after days of dredging. No matter what, she could not let anyone take them away from her. Her eyes fixated on a ship it looked empty it was almost dawn and she was dead tired she needed to leave Marlon by the night so without even thinking twice she climbed the ladder and entered the ship.

The ship was beautiful must be a pirate ship she thought to herself but her excitement was short lived when she heard footsteps coming from the quarter deck so she entered the room behind her and hid beneath the bed which was safely concealed by the bed covers. And then she finally took a deep breath and readied herself for whatever was to come.

Baekhyun had signed the deal and then he got back to the ship and explained the rest of the crew about the new deal. The rest of the crew was not very happy as they had been imagining a vacation. But baekhyun being a soft hearted person did let them have a 3 day holiday for which he was quite literally cursed alot after which they would start the hunt for both the gem and the virtuoso.

Finally after a long day baekhyun came back to his Chambers and fell on his beloved bed.

" what a shitty day. Damn my muscles are literally sore." baekhyun spoke to himself and fell asleep.

The next morning the girl left from beneath the bed making sure not to make any sound. The ship had almost been empty for the past 3 days it looked like the crew had been spending time in the city, good for her she atleast had some privacy. She wandered in the kitchen and got herself something to eat took a bath and when she came out of the bathroom for the first time she realised that she was in the captains chamber.

She looked around until her eyes fixed on a certain map. It was the map of the beryl sea pointing towards a particular gem stone. They were searching for the black painite. Before she could pry any further she heard noises on the deck so she hurriedly hid under the bed.

Baekhyun entered his room unbuttoning his shirt snd throwing it on the ground, they would start for the beryl sea tomorrow morning so he needed to have good rest. It took him only a few minutes before he was in deep slumber.

The girl waited for an hour before she very slowly came outside. She turned around and for the first time she saw the man whose voice she had been hearing for the past 3 nights.

He was magnificent. She could not take her eyes off him, he looked so peaceful while sleeping. She traced the constellation formed by his moles on his face in the air very carefully so that she accidentally does not touch him. But she realised it was wrong she could not invade his privacy like this, so she crept back under the bed and fell asleep.

The next morning when baekhyun woke up they had already started sailing he removed the comforter from above him which he did not even remember putting on, then he found his shirt neatly folded on the table. Strange.

He took a bath and came out when his eye caught the attention of something peculiar. A leg from beneath his bed. He unsheathed his cutlass and very silently moved towards the bed when he removed the sheets his eyes became as big as saucers.

A WOMAN A DAMN WOMAN UNDER HIS BED.

He coughed loudly inorder to wake her up. The girl opened her eyes very slowly. She looked at him with hazy eyes and smiled.

" Am I in heaven?"She sleepily exclaimed.

Baekhyun actually coughed this time.

" No miss you are on my ship THE EXODUS."

"Exodus..OH shit." All the sleep in her eyes was gone and she suddenly got up hitting her head to the bed frame. " exodus! this is exodus oh my god. I'm so sorry I can explain its a long story I.. " She kept talking out of nervousness.

"Stop.you can tell whatever you have to infront of the entire crew." Baekhyun very slowly advanced towards her with a dangerous smirk on his face."And darling if we are not convinced with your explanation we won't take a second to throw you off this ship. AM.I.CLEAR." He whispered the last words directly beside her ear causing a shiver to run down her spine. Her breathing had already become ragged.

Baekhyun took hold of her hand and dragged her outside. Damn she was screwed.

"May I have your attention we have an addition to our crew." baekhyun announced.

Now everyone was paying attention.

"A GIRL. what the heck is a girl doing on this ship?" Jongin asked amused.

Chanyeol kept coming close in order to make sure it really was a girl.

"Chanyeol what are you doing?" Baekhyun asked.

"Just checking if she really is a girl."He replied.

"Oh god chanyeol shut up" everyone yelled in unison.

"Okay" he raised his hands in defence and moved back.

" Well now would you mind telling us what you are doing on this ship?" Baekhyun asked the girl sitting smugly on top of a barrel.

"Yeah let's begin with your name." Minseok said

The girl hesitated for a while but then gathered all the courage and answered.

"My name is Alayah èrcel" She answered in a low voice.

" A foreigner I see." Baekhyun replied.

"So what are you a spy an informant or a just somebody in search for a little fun?" Sehun asked.

Alayah tightened her fist, if he spoke again she would definitely break his nose but right now her main motive was to survive.

"Shut up sehun show some respect she is a woman." Junmyeon spoke seriously.

"Mam may we please know what you are doing on this ship?" Junmyeon asked.

She took a deep breath and began . "I came in accidentally while running away from a few men. I did not know it was exodus. I'm sorry I just needed a way out. I promise to not cause you any trouble. I just need a passage through beryl sea till Mayfield mountains. That's it and I will pay you for this passage."

"Mayfield mountains what work does a woman have in a place like that."baekhyun asked with a smirk.

" None of your business." Alayah said in a stern voice.

"Oh darling it is very much of my business we don't get involved in illegal business so you either tell us what you are upto or you can swim your way back to the port."

"But i am ready to pay you in copper." She said desperately.

"But I don't need your copper" baekhyun said smugly.

"Then I will give you something you need."

" And what could that be?"

" The correct location of the black painite and in return you give me passage to Mayfield mountains."

Everyone on the ship became still after listening to her proposal.

"How do I know that you know the correct location?"

She knew it would come to this but it was finally time for her to reveal her identity she needed to get back to Mayfield with the copper that she had been saving in order save her father's ship. If the ship was sold to anyone else her last chance of getting it would be gone, her father's last memory would be gone and she could not let that happen.

"Because I am the gem virtuoso"

SILENCE.

Now there was absolute silence on the ship, all of them just stared at her.

"Fine we will know if you're lying very soon. Lay hyung show her the servant quarters until her 1st task let her rest." Baekhyun said.

After showing her the Chambers all of them accumulated in the meeting room below the deck to discuss about the matter.

"What do we do now?" Minseok asked.

" we take her to the twin rocks and ask her to dredge and find the sphene gems since its very hard to trace them there. If she succeeds then we know she is telling the truth."

"If she is not lying will we actually hand her over with the painite to those devil's?" Jongin asked.

"For now let's focus on the mission we can discuss this matter after finding the painite."

After three days of sailing they finally reached the twin rocks baekhyun explained her what she was supposed to find.

Alayah knew she could do it she could feel the rhythm of the stones and the magnetic pull of it calling her towards them. She knew they were hidden somewhere deep but she had to do it.

All the crew members stood near the rail as alayah stood on the rail " there's still time you know you can back out" sehun said and alayah ignored him, taking a deep breath before any other thoughts could come in her mind she jumped.

The water was warm, the saltwater burned her eyes she tried to adjust to her surroundings and swam to the surface to take a breath. After taking a deep breath she went inside listening to the song of the gems she kept swimming until the vibrations became very strong, she found the reef and started breaking it she found 1 stone but it was deeply embedded.

The bubbles escaped her mouth and suddenly there was a gush water in her lungs she couldn't breath she had to go back to the surface, she tried hard to get the stone and when she finally did the world turned upside down her vision started to blacken, before she finally closed her eyes she saw the silhouette of a man swimming towards her it was probably the most angelic thing she had ever seen and then she closed her eyes.

Baekhyun had been very agitated since she dived in he waited for a few minutes but it had already been 13 minutes he was starting to have scary thoughts so he decided to go look himself. He swam deep until he finally found her trying to free the gem. He was impressed that she had found the exact location of the gem. And in that moment he knew that she was actually telling the truth.

Baekhyun brought her back into the ship and gently laid her in her Chambers. He took hold of the of the gem and moved towards the deck where everyone was waiting.

"Damn she really found the stone" jongin exclaimed.

"What now?" Chanyeol asked

"For now we keep her by our side by assuring her that we will give her the passage to Mayfield until we find painite then we will hand her over."baekhyun replied.

"But hyung she trusted us how can we literally back stab her and wouldn't it be nice for us to have her by our side our trade could flourish even more. Don't you think so?" jongin said.

"Jongin having her by our side is even more trouble. It's better to get done with the job that we have been assigned." Baekhyun replied sternly.

"Alright let's take a vote how many of you want her to leave with the shipment and how many of you actually are in favour of the whole passage thing." Kyungsoo asked all of them.

Everyone voted in favour of her being handed over except chanyeol and jongin they genuinely wanted her to make it to Mayfield.

Only 9 more days were left until they reached the beryl sea. They were all standing in the captains chamber around the round table.

The map of the sea was perched on the table with baekhyun standing in the middle and the rest of the crew along with alayah standing around him.

"Right now we are here, it will take 9 more days until we reach there." He pointed the points on the map with his finger. "We must be prepared as there seems to be a storm ahead though exodus is prepared for every obstacle but still precautions are necessary chanyeol, jongin and sehun prepare the sails kyungsoo take care of the anchor, the rest of you know what to do and alayah you stay with me are we clear?" Baekhyun said.

"Alright captain" everyone said in unison.

The night had already come, the ocean was pitch balck there was not a speck of light except the one from there own lanterns. Alayah stayed in her cabin eventhough the crew had warmed up to her after somedays baekhyun was still cold towards her. She did not mind tho since she would be with them only for a little while. She had really become close to kyungsoo and chanyeol among everyone they really were little balls of sunshine.

Suddenly the ship started rocking she knew the storm had already started, she could hear voices from the deck. She wanted go out and help them but baekhyun had strictly ordered her to stay in her cabin at any cost.

When the storm became more violent the rocking of the ship became unbearable. God she knew she was going to be sick. She heard the screams from outside and finally decided to see what was happening. She headed outside and saw that the sail on the foremast had almost torn from the middle and the rain was very heavy the rail near the helm had been broken baekhyun stood near the wheel trying his best to control it.

Due to the rocking of the ship he was loosing his balance at anytime he could fall into the sea the thought of it sacred alayah, with next roar that happened which she feared. With one strong wave the ship almost turned upside down and baekhyun lost his balance and fell into the water.

Everyone started screaming going towards baekhyun to save him but it was too late they could see absolutely nothing even the lanterns were out. They had to save baekhyun.

That's when it came to her mind that baekhyun always wears a necklace with a red beryl stone, if she could track the stone she could track him without weighing the odds alayah just jumped into the water. Kyungsoo ran to catch her but it was too late.

The cold water cut deep into her skin, her senses became numb she couldn't breath she moved to the surface and took a deep breath and went back inside she tried to calm her mind and focus only on the feel of the red beryl, she could feel the tingles of vibration in her skin the gem called to her she swam towards it in the dark just depending on her intuition.

In hastiness she hit her hand on a large rock causing blood to ooze out she tried to ignore the pain and kept swimming until she saw the faint red light emitting from the stone. She had found him, she hurriedly swam towards him.

She caught hold of his waist and pulled him up, he was unconscious, she really had to hurry.The water in her lungs burned she splashed her legs as hard as she could and finally made it to the surface. She took a huge gasp of air, the rain was still harsh. She spotted lay and junmyeon in a boat searching for them she yelled as loud as she could and thank god they heard her.

They hurried towards them first taking baekhyun in the boat and next alayah as soon as her feet touched the ship she collapsed.

Baekhyun slowly opened his eyes adjusting to the dimly lit room. He groaned as all the pain in his body hit him at lightning speed. Listening to his voice junmyeon turned towards him.

"Baekhyun you are awake finally! How are you feeling? Should I call lay? Do you want something?" Junmyeon asked in a concerned manner.

"Woah! Hold on I'm fine just get me some water." He said in a hoarse voice.

"By the way what happened?" Baekhyun asked.

"Oh after you fell the girl jumped after you I have no idea how she found you but she did. She saved your life baekhyun, you really owe her alot." Junmyeon answered.

From that day onwards things changed for baekhyun, he had never really expressed gratitude to anyone so he couldn't thank her no matter how much he tried so he did the thing he was best at, he ignored. He ignored her as much as he could but when they had food in the main hall he sneaked glances at her. Lately he's been thinking about her alot, about how she has the most beautiful almond shaped eyes with thick and long lashes, her jet balck wavy hair and her beautiful honey coloured skin, she does have pimples and spots here and there but that's what makes her look more beautiful. Gosh he clearly is infatuated towards her.

Baekhyun was going through one such moment currently when they were all in his cabin discussing about the delay which was caused and now finally after 13 days there was only one day left till they reached the heart of the beryl sea and here he was taking glances towards her, god she simply looked beautiful in her loose balck trousers paired with a thick black sweater and a long balck coat, her hair perfectly fell over her shoulders, he couldn't stop staring at how her fingers brushed through her locks, oh how he wished it were his hair instead. But his train of thoughts were brought to an end when chanyeol coughed out loud in order to get his attention.

"The captain clearly seems to be very distracted lately isn't it sehun?"Chanyeol commented smugly.

"Oh yeahhh, is everything okay captain?" Sehun replied playing along.

"I think we should call it off let's hold this meeting again at dawn. Get some rest everyone as the night is going to be very long." Junmyeon spoke.

Alayah along with lay and minseok left whereas the rest of them burst out laughing.

"WHAT?" Baekhyun yelled.

" You should have seen him literally gawking at her." Sehun commented laughing in a high pitched sound.

"My Man was literally drooling" chanyeol added.

"NO I WASN'T! " Baekhyun exclaimed angrily.

"Yes, you were." Kyungsoo agreed with them.

"Baekhyun you were literally drilling holes in her face with your eyes it literally looked like you were about to vomit hearts" jongdae commented.

"You know my friend with what I am seeing with my own two eyes I think your are in love."chanyeol dramatically exclaimed.

"Shut up chanyeol, I do not take anything which is seen by your eyes as true you are literally blind." Baekhyun said frustratingly.

" But on a serious note baekhyun you should atleast thank her she deserves it."jongin added.

"Maybe I really should talk to her."baekhyun muttered under his breath.

The sun was about to set and the sky was beautiful purplish pink in colour with a tint of orange. Alayah couldn't believe she would soon be in Mayfield and then rescue her father's ship.But then what? The thoughts of the aftermath scared her but she decided to keep it for the future. Her thoughts were short lived when someone cleared their throat she looked up and it was baekhyun.

This bastard caveman he had literally been ignoring her since the time she saved him not even a single thankyou. Every time she saw him she literally wanted to squash his head and feed it to the seagulls. But then sometimes she caught him giving those soft boyfriend material looks and her heart would start palpating at a very fast pace. Still he was a bastard.

"May I have a seat if you don't mind?" Baekhyun asked politely.

"Yes sure." She said.

He made himself comfortable but kept a safe distance between them.

"Firstly i would like to apologise for being a dickhead."

"Oh atleast you agree you are a dickhead." She muttered under her breath. And baekhyun heard it but pretended like he didn't.

"See the thing is I am not very good at showing gratitude all my life I have been surrounded by my crewmates and we have this unsaid rule of no sorry's and no thnakyou's. So when you saved my life I did not know how to approach you. Now that I have gathered the courage I really am very sorry Ms Èrcel. And I would also like to sincerely thankyou for saving my life." Baekhyun finally concluded.

Alayah stared at him for a while it really did look like a sincere apology.

"Well I accept your gratitude captain. But I will admit I really was mad at you for your behaviour." She admitted.

Baekhyun gave an awkward laugh." Yeah sorry about that but I believe now maybe we can be friends?"

" Yeah sure maybe we can" She said looking at him to only realise that he had already been staring at her with the same look in his eyes he usually holds nowadays.

She looked in his eyes and in that moment her heart started beating so fast, he was breath taking in the very moment, the way his hair flew with wind, the way his white tunic hugged his body, the way his hand veins became visible due to his rolled up sleeves god she needed to stop this was getting embarrassing.

"You know you're staring darling."baekhyun said in an amused manner.

She let out a cough and baekhyun laughed. For the first time he felt genuinely happy.

"If you don't mind may I ask you what is the meaning of your name?" Baekhyun asked respectfully.

"Oh it means someone with a virtuous character. If you find it hard you can also call me Esra that's what my mom called me." She replied.

"That's a beautiful name Ms Esra. And your mom what do you mean by called you does she not call you with that name anymore?"

"I believe someday when we are close enough I could tell you but for now let's just settle on names. What say baekhyun?" She said sincerely .

Baekhyun respected her choice and nodded. Someday maybe he thought to himself.

They finally reached the heart of beryl sea exactly beneath the crux constellation as alayah had told them.They tied the anchor and prepared for dredging.

Baekhyun entered her room with a knock and saw her tying the belt of tools around her waist.

"Do you think I can do it?"She asked him her voice barely above a whisper.

"Of course you can." He moved towards her standing right infront of her, he wanted to reach out and hold her in his embrace but he couldn't ." The entire crew has faith in you and don't worry all of us will be there. So trust us and trust yourself darling. Can you do that?" He told her in a very gentle voice.

She nodded. " lets go." Baekhyun said.

She stood on the railing. The water was calm and the sun kept shining brightly,on the count of three she took a deep breath and dived in.

They water felt warm and the fishes kept swimming peacefully around her, the saltwater burned her eyes but she quickly got accustomed to it. She followed the hum of the ocean. She could feel the gem, her entire being had lit up, a weird tingling sensation took place in her skin she kept following the call of the gem but it was too deep she needed to breath so she attached the makeshift elastic rope to one of the seaweed and swam back to the surface. She emerged from the water with a huge gasp.

Baekhyun was ready to jump in the water but minseok stopped him.

" is everything okay?"minseok asked her

" just pull the rope around your waist if anything goes wrong and we will come." Baekhyun assured her.

"Okay" She replied a dived back in.

She followed the trail of her makeshift elastic rope and then swam further after many failed attempts she still kept swimming her body becoming sore she swam until the vibrations in her body almost became too much for her to handle. At that moment she knew she had finally found the reef, she finally found the balck painite it was embedded deep into the reef she needed help to release it she forcefully tucked the end of her rope. And that was the signal for the rest of the crew to dive in.

She tied the rope to the reef securely and came back to the shore taking in huge gasps for air. Chanyeol carefully helped her back on the ship. And then she fainted.

They had finally found it, it took almost 8 days to throughly search the entire area and extract the gems but they had found only 7 to 8 gems even after thorough search. One small piece of it was worth atleast 50,000 coppers and if they sold these 8 large pieces by dividing and carving them they would have a fortune to last for a lifetime. All the members of the crew had been extremely tired. So they decided to dock the ship near the nearest port and take rooms in hotels and have proper rest.

Alayah wanted to talk to baekhyun about her departure she had been wondering why they were not heading towards Mayfield and back towards Marlon. She was about to knock when she accidentally heard their conversation.

"So what have you thought baekhyun are you going to hand her over along with gems?" It was junmyeon who spoke.

"I don't know hyung the deal clearly mentions that we get them the gem virtuoso but I don't know if I can do that anymore."baekhyun sounded defeated.

She couldn't believe her ears, all this time they have been deceiving her. She gave her everything just so that she could find the gems and they wanted to sell her like she was some damn artifact. Her father was right he had always warned her to never trust anyone yet she had openly given her secret away. She was a fool to believe them. She had to leave find some other ship and leave as soon as possible.

In her hastiness she broke a flower vase. Out of suspicion baekhyun opened the door and he was met with her terrifyingly betrayed eyes. He saw it, the hatred with which she looked at him. He hated it, he hated how small he felt in that moment. So he ran after her, he needed to explain her everything.

Esra ran and ran until her legs gave out and she fell on the sand baekhyun ran behind her as well when he saw that she had fallen he hurriedly came to pick her up but she refused.

"Don't! Don't you dare come near me or even try to touch me. I will kill you and won't even regret it." She growled at him.

"Esra please, You need to listen please let me explain."baekhyun spoke desperately.

"Don't call me that, you have no right to call me by that name and why am I even suppose to listen to you, you..(She jabbed a finger in his chest) you are a narcissistic pathetic man who only thinks about money, I requested you for one thing JUST ONE DAMN THING! a passage and i payed you for it yet you betrayed me how could you?" Now her voice was barely above whisper she looked him straight in the eye " I thought we were friends."

Baekhyun was speechless his chest was heavy with the emotions he had never felt before. GUILT. He felt guilty for doing this to her.

"Please just listen to me" he pleaded.

"WHAT!" SHE YELLED

he very carefully held her hands and sank down on his knees she tried to free her hands but his hold tightened.

"Please." There was desperation in his voice.

So she let him speak.

We were in marlon to deliver the black opal when we were offered the deal to bring in painite and a gem virtuoso. We did agree but even before we could begin to search, you already showed up on the ship. In the beginning all of us wanted to go with the original plan but trust me since the day you saved my life all of that has changed. I.. I know how heartbreaking it is for you but trust me now, in this very moment neither do i nor does anybody from the crew want to give you away. I promise I will figure something out we won't let anything happen to you." Baekhyun explained her everything.

She removed her hands from his grasp.

"Stand up." She commanded him.

"I don't trust you baekhyun I don't know how to trust you anymore." She replied with a stray tear falling from her left eye.

"I don't know how to make you trust me again but I promise to take you to Mayfield as promised."baekhyun said with determination in his eyes.

He took out a pocket knife and cut through his palm letting the blood fall onto the ground. Vowing to her in the pirate terms.

"I promise to you Ms. Alayah èrcel that I Byun baekhyun captain of the ship exodus will safely provide you a passage till Mayfield at any cost." Baekhyun said.

Alayah knew that this way of pirate promises meant that the said pirate if breaks his promise could be publicly executed. She knew that baekhyun had taken a great risk so she decided to give him a chance.

The entire crew of exodus sat in their meeting hall below the deck except alayah, she mostly kept to her room nowadays, she only came out to eat, she minimised her interaction with everyone especially Baekhyun. She did not even look at him anymore which made his heart ache everytime.

"What do we do now baekhyun? we have everything we need yet we cannot give it to them." Jongdae said.

"I think we should just give the gems to them and tell them nothing about alayah." Chanyeol added.

"No but then the question will arise as to how we found the gems without a gem virtuoso." Lay replied to chanyeol.

"We can just tell them that we were the ones who mined everyday for hours and we were lucky enough to find the painite. We should make it look like we did not require a gem virtuoso." Junmyeon said.

"Well I agree since we never really began the search for her there will be no proof of us actually searching for her, so they will know that we don't have the gem virtuoso." Jongin replied.

"You know all of these reasonings are pretty shit maybe we can just mix all of them up and brew a lie." Baekhyun finally spoke.

They finally left the hall and took there positions back in the ship. Alayah came on the deck looking for kyungsoo. When she finally found him she went and stood next to him.

"So somebody finally decided to bless us with her presence."kyungsoo teased her.

He was the only one she was really talking to.

"Do you want me to go back?" She asked slightly irritated.

"No.. no please stay, so what happened? If its baekhyun let me tell you he really is very sorry i think he really likes you."kyungsoo said calmly.

"I'm not here for baekhyun. It's just that I was going through your treasure chest when chanyeol and sehun took me along with them and I found this particular crate which had fake coins in it. So I wanted to ask if you people did fake coin business as well? Isn't that illegal." Alayah asked.

Kyungsoo became absolutely still they never did anything illegal so how did these fake coins come in there ship. He just stared at alayah.

"Kyungsoo, are you okay? Did I say something wrong?"

" can you show me which crate you are talking about?" Kyungsoo requested her.

After checking the crate he realised it belonged to changmin which they had taken in exchange of black opal. Kyungsoo hurriedly called baekhyun into the storage room to check for himself.

"That bastard!" Baekhyun muttered under his breath but in that very moment the idea to get out of this mess hit him. Knowing that alayah had herself found out about the fake currency which led to this idea he couldn't control himself and he threw his arms around her, he picked her by the waist and twirled her in the air in happiness. The rest of the crew just kept watching them with knowing smirks they were gonna tease him later. Alayah was surprised when he suddenly hugged her but she liked it, being in his embrace so she decided to stay quiet.

Baekhyun set her down and motioned towards chanyeol to come with him.

Baekhyun along with chanyeol kyungsoo junmyeon and minseok entered the trade office of changmin. He made himself comfortable on the leather couch.

"So Baekhyun finally. But where is the gem virtuoso neither do I see the black painite." Changmin asked.

"Is it that the great byun baekhyun has failed for the first time?looks like your business wont be able to run for long." The other man spoke.

"Well, well the very first thing, byun baekhyun never fails and the second thing is that if anyones business is gonna sink its gonna be yours." Baekhyun replied smugly.

"What do you mean?" Changmin asked.

"Well what I mean is pretty clear, you being the bastard you are tried to trick me by paying me with fake coins and you really think I would want to do business with you anymore." Baekhyun replied.

"Chanyeol " baekhyun motioned for chanyeol to give them the legal notice.

" Well here you go the legal notice to cancel your trading license. Well now even if I find the black painite and the gem virtuoso they will remain in my possession." Baekhyun smirked at Changmin.

"No that is not possible! you bastard!" changmin gets up to hit baekhyun but sehun yanks him away.

"Well everything is possible, should have thought about the consequences before doing the dirty deed. Anyways Goodluck for your future endeavours." Baekhyun tipped his head and left the place. God he has never felt so lighter.

"Now that we have both the painite and gem virtuoso in our possession what do we do?" Sehun asked.

"We sail, to the MAYFIELD MOUNTAINS. We have a passenger to safely provide till Mayfield." Baekhyun answered.

Exodus has been sailing for the past 5 days for the Mayfield. Alayah couldn't believe she was actually going to achieve what she had been dreaming since her childhood. Her father's ship will finally be in her possession. Her thoughts came to an end when someone came and stood beside her. She turned to see who it was.

BAEKHYUN

"Well would you mind if I join you?" Baekhyun asked.

" no of course not please." She moved to the side to make space for him.

"The sky is quite beautiful today isn't it?" Baekhyun asked her

" Yes it is."

"So it's finally goodbye I see, well if you don't mind me asking what are you actually going to do in Mayfield?"

"Well so the thing is my father was a pirate just like all of you but he traded spice, after the hitting of plaque on the western lands the income had greatly reduced so my father decided to sell his ship. After his death when I got to know that raven our ship was docked on the Mayfield I desperately wanted to have it back. My entire childhood was spent on that ship. Its not just a ship baekhyun its my home. So I decided to save up and buy it." She explained.

"You really must miss him alot don't you?" Baekhyun asked.

"I do. " esra replied.

"Esra" he gently called her name.

"Hmm"

"After you have the ship in your possession what do you think you wanna do then?" Baekhyun asked carefully.

"Well I don't really have any plans right now."

"Would you...would you like to join our crew? We could use a skilled gem virtuoso." Baekhyun asked hesitantly.

"Maybe I should, would you accept me in your crew captain?"

"Of course I will" baekhyun said with an honest smile.

They stared at each other for a while, baekhyun's eyes kept moving towards her lips, he wanted to kiss her so bad but he kept his composure and they just looked in each others eyes with unspoken emotions.

"What are you staring at Mr. Byun?"She asked playfully.

"Me? Well I am staring at the most precious gem i have ever seen." He gathered all his courage and gently kissed her forehead and in that moment both of them knew that their lives had changed forever.
