* Just a silly thing from my notes app

- Lunchtime, Mae is sitting at desk and Kou walks up to her

- “Hey, Ashida-chan! How’ve you been?” He’s a little nervous suddenly coming up to her

- She raises her eyebrow; he’s never really spoken to her so openly before: “I’m doing alright, Ichijou-kun. Is something wrong?”

- He chuckles nervously: “Nothing! Just wanted to know how you were… I noticed you’ve been hanging out with Yu-kun a lot, is something going on between you two?” (he’s trying to deflect from his actual intentions)

- Mae flushes as she furrows her eyebrows: “No! Why would you think that? …I’m very grateful to Yu-kun for many reasons, but he’s just a dear friend of mine. Why are you asking anyway?”

- Kou: “Sorry! I didn’t mean to imply that- well, I mean I did but-“ he waves his hands and pinches the bridge of his nose, sighing, “-gah, I… I wanted to ask about Chie-san.”

- Mae’s eyes widen. Chie? “Chie-chan? What about her?”

- Kou’s face flushes deeply as he tries to play it off: “W-Well, I uh… Since you’re friends with Yu-kun, and with Yukiko-san too, I figured you’d be close with her too…” He says sheepishly, scratching his head

- Mae: “I mean, yeah, I suppose I am… What are you trying to get at, Ichijou-kun?”

- He sighs, slumping as he mutters quietly: “I… I have a crush on Chie-san and I wanted to ask if you had any advice on how to approach her and get her to like me…”

- Mae gasps LOUDLY. She covers her mouth when she does as people around them turn to them suddenly. She laughs awkwardly to deter them from listening as they all turn back around, Mae leaning in: “You have a crush on Chie-chan? For how long?”

- Kou buries his face in his hands, sitting in the seat in front of her desk as he rests his elbows on it: “A while… Yu-kun isn’t any help because he’s never been with a girl, but since you’re a girl I figured you might have better advice.”

- Mae’s face contorts into a look of skepticism: “I mean, I’m not exactly Chie-chan, I don’t know what she’d be into.” She hums as she thinks, recalling Chie’s fighting spirit and noble attitude, “I think she likes nice guys…”

- Kou beams: “I’m a nice guy! I’m so nice!”

- Mae can practically see the ears and tail wagging. She giggles: “You certainly are cheerful, at the very least. I mean she likes guys who care about others; she hates guys that are just total douches.”

- Kou nods, thinking: “I don’t think I’m a douchebag… what else does she like in a guy?”

- Mae shrugs: “It’s never really come up, sorry I couldn’t be much help.”

- Kou sighs, slumping back in his chair: “It’s okay… thanks, Ashida-san… Say, is there anyone you like?”

- Mae’s eyes widen: “N-No, I don’t think so…”

- Kou raises an eyebrow: “Think? What do you mean by that?”

- Mae: “Well, I don’t really put much thought into that… I’ve only had guys come into my life very recently—“

- Kou: “Like Yu-kun?”

- Mae groans: “Well— yes, but I don’t see him like that! Yu-kun is a great guy, but I wouldn’t date him.”

- Kou nods: “Hm, I see. Most girls at this school fell for him day one, being the cool new transfer student. Is he just not your type?”

- Mae thinks for a second: “I don’t know, I don’t really have a type, at least I haven’t thought about it much.”

- Kou leans forward: “What is your type?”

- Mae scoffs: “You’re suddenly more gossipy than the 2nd year girls down the hall, you know. What’ll this information do you?”

- Kou tilts his head: “Why can’t I just be curious? I told you who I had a crush on, I think it’s fair that you tell me your type.”

- Mae rolls her eyes: “You came to me in desperation for info on a friend of mine that happens to be the object of your affection; there’s no basis for exchange here.”

- Kou pauses for a moment, before he speaks: “I didn’t get a single word you said.”

- Mae sighs: “We didn’t make a deal to tell each other, you just came up to me and told me you like Chie-chan because you don’t know how to tell Her.”

- Kou sits up: “Well, you don’t tell your teammate on the court that you’re about to pass, you just lock eyes and throw. Come on, now I gotta know!”

- Mae groans, cleaning up her stuff: “Sorry Ichijou-kun, but I don’t have a type because I don’t think about that stuff. Maybe you should ask Chie-chan, her answer might be you.”

- Kou’s eyes light up: “You think so?”

- Mae pauses as she stands, and then chuckles: “Who knows? No shame in trying, right?”

- Mae walks towards the door as she continues looking at Kou, not noticing Yosuke walking in. They bump into each other as Mae stumbles back, Yosuke reaching out to grab her arm so she doesn’t fall. She looks to him and pulls away: “O-Oh, sorry Yosuke-kun, I wasn’t looking.”

- Yosuke: “It’s okay, I came by ‘cause you hadn’t shown up to the group meeting yet. You comin’?”

- Mae nods, brushing herself off as a red hue brushes her cheeks: “Yeah, I was just talking with Ichijou-kun for a bit—“ She turns to look at Kou again, who has a shit-eating grin on his face. Mae raises an eyebrow, confused at his expression.

- Kou: “Sorry for keeping her, Yosuke-kun. Just had a question about the homework.” He lies, a smirk on his face.

- Yosuke: “No problem Kou-kun.” He turns to Mae again, “I’ll head back and let them know you’re coming. See you there, Mae.”

- Mae nods, smiling: “Okay, see you.”

- Yosuke leaves, Mae bending down to pick up what she had dropped when she turns to look at Kou. He raises an eyebrow, Mae groaning exasperatedly: “What?”

- Kou: “First name basis, huh?”

- Mae flushes deeply: “Yosuke-kun is just a friend! He’s dear to me, like Yu-kun is, okay?! Why the sudden interest in my love life, Ichijou-kun?”

- Kou laughs heartily: “So between Yu-kun and Yosuke-kun, who would you date? Neither?”

- Mae pauses for a second, having actually thought about it before. The silence is enough of an answer for Kou as he chuckles: “So, you have a thing for city boys huh?”

- Mae huffs as she turns around: “Goodbye, Ichijou-kun!”

- Kou calls out as she walks away: “Say hello to Yosuke-kun for me!”

Mae (P4G) | Pocky Day Fic

“…Pocky?”

Yosuke waved the box in front of him, beaming as Yu asked aloud. Yosuke smiled eagerly as he hopped up on his feet, nearly crashing into Yu.

“C’mon, did you live under a rock in the city?! It’s Pocky day! Y’know, the game where two people eat the pocky from either end and almost kiss?”

He was practically shouting at Yu while he held the box tight in his hand, leaning forward over his desk.

“I know what the Pocky game is,” Yu responded flatly, “I just didn’t realize that was today. Who do you even plan on playing it with?”

Chie and Yukiko walk in, Chie having overheard the conversation as she snided, “More like ‘Who would wanna play with him’, dontcha think?”

Yosuke grumbled, “Oh shut it! I’m sure someone will want some pocky, right?” He asked, pointedly with a slight hint of worry at the end.

Yukiko chuckled as she sat down, “At the very least you might find a sweet tooth who’s looking to take it off your hands.”

Yosuke sighed, slumping back in his seat as the others took out their lunches. He looked at the box of Pocky in his hand and frowned, It’s not that big of a deal, but still, it’d be exhilarating to even have my face that close to a girl!

His heart started pumping in his chest imagining it, face to face with another person as they inched their way along the stick, eyes glued shut in anticipation. He couldn’t figure out who would be on the other end, though, as no one could come to mind. Rise? Oh man, she’d be totally cute, but I doubt she’d want to play with me and not Yu. Naoto? Nah, she’s too charming, and Kanji would get angry if I did. Yukiko and Chie are definitely out of the question, too. So that leaves—

“Oh, you guys are in here today? I was wondering where I’d find you guys.”

Mae walked into the classroom, sitting down across from Chie. Yosuke’s eyes snapped towards her, his heart pumping even more as his train of thought seemed to manifest her.

“Oh, Mae-chan! How about you then?” Chie suggested casually, Yosuke’s eyes widening.

Mae raised an eyebrow and tilted her head, confused. “What for? Did you guys need someone for something?” She looked to Yosuke, whose face flushed instantaneously when she made eye contact with him. He couldn’t find the voice to speak, instead stumbling on his words.

“W-Well, uh, so— t-today—“

“Yosuke’s wondering if you’ll play the Pocky game with him.” Yukiko interjected, taking a bite of her food right after.

It was as if the idea was as simple as that, a little game to play with no connotations whatsoever. But of course it was far from that, evident by the rising heat in their faces at the mere suggestion. Mae scoffed lightly in embarrassment, laughing awkwardly.

“The Pocky game? People still do that?” Her face was dusted red, eyes suddenly avoiding his gaze as she looked to Yukiko instead.

“It IS the 11th of November, today more than ever is when people are playing it.” Yu pointed out, earning a stern look from Yosuke. His eyes go unnoticed as Chie looks to Mae.

“What’s one game? You could totally beat this guy anyway, your face is stone cold!” Mae’s face was anything but, her eyes wide and her cheeks flushed crimson. Nevertheless, she glanced at Yosuke, then to Yukiko, and then back at Yosuke.

“…Well, it’s just a game, right?”

Yosuke felt his legs grow weak, his head pulsing at the sudden rush of blood to his face hearing her words. Did I hear that right? Am I dreaming? Did she say she wanted to play?!

Yukiko gasped loudly, “So you’re gonna play the Pocky game with Yosuke?!” If it weren’t for the hustle and bustle of students downstairs you could almost hear a pin drop, the air evacuated of any sound besides the twos’ thumping hearts.

Mae tried to play it cool, shrugging noncomittally as she scooted closer to Yosuke. “There’s no harm in just a game, right? It’s just pocky…” She said softly, almost to herself to self-soothe as she adjusted the hair away from her face, which was so near to Yosuke’s that was burning red.

“W-Wait, you’ll play? Really?!” Yosuke asked, a little too excited as he unknowingly raised his voice. He pulled back, his heart threatening to leap out of his chest as he watched Mae fix her hair.

She nodded slowly, laughing awkwardly, “Just once, I don’t really have a sweet tooth right now…”

Yosuke couldn’t believe it. A girl! A real girl wants to play the Pocky game with me! And not just any girl, it’s Mae-chan! Oh man, my heart is thumping! Play it cool, Hanamura! Play it cool!

He did anything but the sort as he nearly tore the box open, pulling the bag of pocky out and ripping it open. He turned his body to face Mae’s, sitting upright and glancing up as he was met with her stern gaze, that ‘stone cold’ look that sent a shiver down his spine.

She smiled softly to counteract the thundering of her heart in her chest, watching as he pulled out a single stick with shaking hands. Chie and Yukiko’s ongoing comments hardly carried in comparison to the sound of her heart in her ears, her eyes glancing to Yu besides Yosuke as he raised a knowing eyebrow at her.

She gulped, turning her attention back to Yosuke as he raised the stick to his mouth, laughing awkwardly, “O-Okay, here goes!” He placed the stick between his teeth gently, the very end of it barely bit down on.

Using his lips he pursed them to raise the pocky forward, pointing to Mae as he fought hard to make eye contact with her. The sight of Yosuke with nervous eyes and flushed cheeks set her heart ablaze, his lips quivering waiting for her to begin the game. She swallowed thickly, casting a quick glance at Yukiko and Chie who were watching with bated breath.

She took a deep breath before leaning in, taking a swift bite out of the pocky. A third of it was broken off as she chewed on it, chocolate and biscuit melding along with her excitement and fear. I have to keep going, right? Oh man, oh man…!

Yosuke’s heart jumped at the first bite, the swift air from her quick move brushing against him and tickling his cheeks. That was already so close! And she’s still going! Oh man, oh man…!

Mae braced herself as she took a second bite, gentler this time as she began to close the distance between them. Now a fourth of the chocolate coating was left, the rest of the biscuit between Yosuke’s lips. Chie squealed at the closeness they briefly had, making Mae jump and cast a frustrated glance at her.

“Sorry! That scared me, I didn’t expect you to get so close!”

“You’re the one who suggested I play!”

Yukiko laughed heartily, Yu smiling at their antics while Yosuke and Mae clung to their composure. Mae turned to face Yosuke again, his face flushed and his lips quivering even more. One arm braced the back of the chair, the other resting on his desk as he tried to sit as still as possible, looking back at Mae. Does she know she can quit here?! She doesn’t have to keep going! Oh man, but I kind of want her to…! Gah, what am I thinking?!

Mae took a deep breath, exhaling slowly as she leaned in closer. I just have to get as close as possible, right? Without… kissing him… Her gaze cast down to the pocky, trailing up the stick to where it sat between his lips, quivering and enticing. She shook her head, taking one more deep breath as she looked in his eyes and began to close the gap.

Slowly she took the other end between her teeth, the warmth of her exhale tickling his cheeks. She was too afraid to close her eyes, afraid she may push too far if she doesn’t let herself see the distance closing. Yosuke on the other hand squeezed his eyes shut, the warmth radiating from her enough to let him know she was right there.

Yukiko and Chie’s squeals went unheard as the blood rushing through their veins roared in their ears, the sound of their shaking exhales drowning out the onlookers as Mae inched further and further along. Each little nibble sent a jolt through their minds, the distance getting smaller and smaller between them.

Yosuke couldn’t bear it any longer, his eyes flying open as Mae neared the ends of the stick, her eyes trained on his own. She was breathtaking so far up close, only heightened by the intense intimacy of the position they were in. The sudden eye contact startled the two of them, Mae especially as her eyes widened in surprise. The distance continued to close, warmth and fire burning between them as the game neared its end—

—RING! RING! RING!—

—As a sound suddenly rang through the classroom, causing the two of them to jolt and lean in a bit too far. Their lips collided briefly as they bumped their noses together, the faint moment of warmth sending them into silence and panic. Chie squealed as Yukiko cheered, laughing heartily as Yosuke and Mae covered their mouths in terror.

“I-I’m so sorry—” “It’s okay- I didn’t mean—“ “Are you okay did it hurt—?“ “I’m okay— Are you okay—?“ Stammered and frantic apologies spill from the pair, faces flushed red and hands flying everywhere. Yu silenced his phone, watching the two trip over their words and feelings. Yukiko roared with laughter as Chie cheered, eating what’s left of the pocky.

“I-I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to… to…” to kiss her! He shouted in his mind, the gears turning slowly. I kissed her… I kissed her! I kissed Mae-chan! Oh man, that was my first kiss! He felt a sense of pride blossom in his chest, looking at Mae as she apologizes.

“I-It’s okay… it was an accident, I’m the one who got startled and bumped into you.” She smiled sheepishly, scratching the back of her neck as she resisted the urge to touch her fingers to her lips. I kissed him… I kissed Yosuke-kun…! Oh goodness, that was my first kiss…!

“Oh man, that was so funny!” Yukiko howled, wiping the tears from her eyes as she leaned back and sighed. Chie laughed along with her, leaning forward and pounding the table with her fist. “That was crazy! I can’t believe that happened! That was straight from a book!”

Mae rolled her eyes, furrowing her brows and pouting slightly. “C’mon guys, I played like you wanted me to…”

The sight of her pouty face made Yosuke’s heart swell, the sight of her pursed lips stealing his focus as his eyes trained onto them. He resisted the urge to touch his fingers to his lips, wanting to recall the brief sensation of hers against his own. Oh man, oh man, oh man…!

Mae (P4G) | Character Overview

First Look

Mae is a second year student at Yasogami High, in class 2-1 (same as Kou Ichijou and right next door to the others). Typically you’ll find her writing in her journal, her hands stained with ink and her pen moving along the pages. She mostly keeps to herself and is seen by her classmates as smart and inquisitive. She’s good in class and even writes short stories, winning this year’s local writing contest. She doesn’t speak to most people unless approached, and on her days off she can be found at the Samegawa flood plain, sitting beneath the gazebo and writing in her journal.

Personality

Mae is withdrawn and observant, only speaking when she feels necessary. Her reserved demeanor makes others view her as aloof. Despite this, she is kind and gentle, softspoken and a nice conversationalist. As she becomes more comfortable she becomes more outspoken, and a force to be reckoned with when arguing. Among the Investigation Team she feels a great sense of gratitude, continually giving back to them through her various acts of service (staying behind with them, helping them with schoolwork, offering them things).

Backstory

Her struggles with wanting to be needed stem from her broken family life, namely her relationship with her mother. Growing up she was emotionally neglected by her mother, who wasn’t the kindest to her and to others in general. Her father left when she was younger, and her two older brothers moved out before she graduated middle school and haven’t been seen since. She doesn’t have many close friends, and so she’s grown withdrawn and writes to express her emotions. She ends up on the Midnight Channel because of her participation in the local writing contest, in which she shared her short story about a black widow spider that tore its family apart (reflecting how she views her own home life).

Introduction

Her chapter occurs after Kanji is rescued (let’s forget about the specific dates and calendar and pretend that there’s a new 13th month for her to be in). She recently won the writing contest and was interviewed on TV about her story, the team keeping an eye on her when she appears on TV. Yukiko reveals that she was classmates with Mae in middle school, and was an acquaintance of hers. They weren’t exactly close, but she knew of her and spoke to her often. When Mae’s silhouette appears on TV, Yukiko recognizes it immediately and the others attempt to prevent her kidnapping the next day. They manage to stay with her the entire day and take her home, but that night when the broadcast shows up again they’re met with the image of a dimly lit hallway. A figure walks into the frame wearing a childish light blue dress, an uncanny smile on her face as she speaks, “Won’t you come in and play with me? No one is watching… We can have so much fun together… Play with me…”

It occurred to me that I didn’t include any positive aspects to the Lust arcana in my explanation, but to be fair I hadn’t gotten to that point when writing her my part of the mainline story. In truth the positive aspects of how the arcanas are shown in Persona games—at least to me—are in the characters themselves, and that can be seen differently across different games (though they can be generalized to encompass all of that arcana as a whole, like how Junpei and Yosuke both have a sense of loyalty to the protagonist—though that much is obvious given that they’re their right hand man).

So this is moreso detailing her strengths (haha) than the arcana’s positive aspects because one, it’s not a real arcana I made it up (though historically it’s an alternate name to Strength) and two, that’s essentially what they are.

Much like the Strength arcana, Mae is passionate and determined, but rather than that being shown actively, it’s shown passively through her writing and her words. When she overcomes her shadow self and awakens to her Persona she doesn’t triumph over her desire, she gives in and indulges in a way that isn’t all-consuming. She acknowledges her innate needs and recognizes that what she’s been pushing away is simply human; it’s part of her that she can’t shut away.

Obviously the Social Links of your allies in Persona 4 continue to delve into their struggles, such as Yukiko’s avid determination to expand her horizons and break away from her fate. The social link for Mae has been confusing for me to figure out because writing plot for Persona is Hard, to say the least. But the key points I wanted to focus on is how she wants to indulge in her need to be wanted, her want to be needed, by being there for others and having a heavy show of acts of service. She in turn becomes so engulfed in this desire to provide for others that she forgets to put herself first, ultimately negating the entire reason behind her being so caring in the first place. It harkens back to how she’s inheritly selfish, which isn’t a bad thing; focusing on the self is important, and she learns to take care of herself before worrying about others. Of course, it’s something only in practice as there are times where putting others before yourself is all that comes to mind (the true final fight in P4G), but she learns to keep a healthy balance between the two.

Addendum: Elaboration on the Lust arcana

Main characteristics of the Lust arcana are:

debilitating desire

want for something that impedes the growth of the self

stunting development/improvement

In the Persona series, the Strength arcana is attributed to characters that are determined and typically athletic, their strength a cover up of their deep-rooted insecurities and issues. I wanted the use of Lust to encapsulate the reason for the facade but covering up a different aspect of the self, and in this case it's her desire to be wanted and to be needed.

Lust in literature and most symbolic use is viewed as a strong desire, typically of the sexual kind that is all consuming; in terms of the seven deadly sins, it's a more aggressive form of gluttony or a subsection of it. I chose Lust as a way to focus more on how her desire is one that's debilitating and overwhelming, a force that prevents her from overcoming her past (like a weight on her shoulders, or a chain around her ankle).

In my perspective, lust is also something that is shameful, far more than boasting or gluttony, and part of her character is how ashamed she is to admit she desires to be wanted and cared for, how pathetic it is to her that this is a natural need she has that isn't met. It's the main reason why her other self gains control; she won't admit that she simply wants to be cared for.

In the Persona series, the Strength arcana is attributed to characters that are determined and typically athletic, their strength a cover up of their deep-rooted insecurities and issues. I wanted the use of Lust to encapsulate the reason for the facade but covering up a different aspect of the self, and in this case it's her desire to be wanted and to be needed.

Lust in literature and most symbolic use is viewed as a strong desire, typically of the sexual kind that is all consuming; in terms of the seven deadly sins, it's a more aggressive form of gluttony or a subsection of it. I chose Lust as a way to focus more on how her desire is one that's debilitating and overwhelming, a force that prevents her from overcoming her past (like a weight on her shoulders, or a chain around her ankle).

In my perspective, lust is also something that is shameful, far more than boasting or gluttony, and part of her character is how ashamed she is to admit she desires to be wanted and cared for, how pathetic it is to her that this is a natural need she has that isn't met. It's the main reason why her other self gains control; she won't admit that she simply wants to be cared for.

Interesting Things - I’m sorry for when my barrier comes out randomly, I can’t exactly control that nature. I don’t know why it happens, I guess even the winds can’t be commanded by an Anemo user… Definitely no other reason…

About Diluc: Caretaker - Master Diluc took me in after the incident in Stormterror’s Lair. He’s actually quite kind when you get to know him, I suppose he just has a soft spot for younger people. 

About Diluc: Dusk - I don’t usually spend my nights at the Dawn Winery, but whenever I do I can’t seem to find Master Diluc. Ms. Adelinde says he’s usually busy, but what sort of matters does he have to settle at such a late hour? I guess it’s none of my business.

About Venti - That bard always performs at the tavern late at night, and it’s hard for me to get much sleep. He’s much more tolerable in the daytime, yet even then you’ll find that he’s already halfway through a bottle of dandelion wine. …Where did he get that bottle anyway? 

About Lisa: Visits - She always lets me stay late at the library whenever I visit to find a book to sit with. Though I’m usually busy at work, she always welcomes me with the book I was last reading already at her desk.  

 About Lisa: Teachings - Ms. Lisa is the one who taught me how to wield my vision, actually. Though Electro doesn’t exactly translate that well to Anemo, she taught me the basics of how to channel the element. She also gave me a book on how wind compression works, hopefully my bullets can get stronger as I learn.

About Kaeya - Around the Dawn Winery mansion you’ll find Sir Kaeya’s name in a few small places. I’m not sure why I’ve never seen him around the vineyard before if his name is inside the mansion walls, but I suppose that isn’t of my concern either. 

About Jean - The Acting Grandmaster is still wary of my firearm, but for the right reason. Anemo is a tricky element to wield, so I understand why she’s so apprehensive about me using my firearm to amplify that. She has mentioned taking up a sword before… 

About Fischl - Fischl is a lot of fun to speak to. I don’t exactly understand what she says most of the time, but it’s a bit similar to how Master Diluc talks, so I can decipher quite a bit of it. Though I’m not sure where she heard the title “Princess of Mondstadt” from, who calls me that anyway? 

About Razor - Oh, Razor! Him and I get along well, we- well, I used to explore Wolvendom and he would accompany me, and the spirits like him a lot, haha. I visit him from time to time to share my supplies if he needs, and just to talk to him every once in a while. I also see him when Ms. Lisa teaches the both of us how to use our visions.

About Klee - She’s a very bright child, though I wish that she’d be a bit more careful with her explosives. My wind barrier can only do so much, and even then it makes the fire even bigger. I hope Ms. Lisa won’t be too upset with us…

Eden’s Hobbies - It’s been quite a while since I’ve visited Ms. Lisa to read a good book. I’ve read nearly everything the library has to offer, minus the restricted area. Maybe I could take another trip to Liyue to get that one series I was looking for. 

Eden’s Troubles - The only troublesome thing about Mondstadt is how freely drunk everyone gets. It isn’t exactly my responsibility, but someone has to take care of the folks who are too drunk to leave the tavern. Don’t even get me started on that bard, goodness.

Favorite Food - Anything with meat is a good meal in my book. Sweet Madames, Mondstadt Grilled Fish, have you ever had Master Diluc’s specialty? You’d never think of him as the type to cook for others, but his food is to die for. Maybe one day I can convince him to cook for the two of us? 

Least Favorite Food - Onions are awful. Who likes onions? You cry when they’re cut and they burn your tongue when you bite into it. Who thought this stuff was meant for eating?

Lisa - Hm? Our dear flower has finally decided to blossom before your eyes, I hear? Don’t underestimate her capability, Traveler, that young girl has a resilience that rivals her fa- ahem, her master’s. Just make sure she isn’t tiring herself out at the tavern, would you?

Vision: Anemo

Weapon: Catalyst/Gun (yes. gun.)

Normal Attack: Billowing Blows

Fires off bullets of Anemo DMG in 5 rounds before reloading. 

Charged attack: Allows Eden to aim where they fire. Charged attacks held for a specific amount of time deal more damage.

Plunging Attack: Fires an array of bullets while plunging from midair, dealing AOE Anemo DMG.

Elemental Skill: Dawning Fortress

(Press): Summons a barrier of wind that shields themselves. Duration is 8 seconds.

Skill (Hold): Summons the will of the wind and creates a wind barrier around themselves. Swirls enemies nearby and pushes them away. Enemies affected by Hydro/Pryo/Cryo/Electro will be dealt an extra amount of DMG of that element. Duration is 16 seconds. 

“O’ Lord Barbatos, heed my plea. Allow me to use the breeze to protect those I hold dear to me.” 

Burst: Spirits of the Gale

Calls forth the Spirits of the Gale, which destroys any wind barrier currently up and deals AOE Anemo DMG. Attacks enemies in tandem with the user. Cannot form a new wind barrier during the duration of their burst. Duration is 15 seconds.

They say that the wind carries the souls of those who have departed to Celestia, lying in wait to soon surge forth through the gale. 

Passive Talent (1st Ascension): Adventurous Heart

The spirits summoned by Spirits of the Gale can pick up a Hydro/Pryo/Cryo/Electro absorption, up to a maximum of 2 different elements.

Passive Talent (4th Ascension): Whispered Condolences

During Spirits of the Gale, when Eden is in Burst mode she will receive 15% less DMG, increased interruption resistance, and any hit received will add 0.2 seconds to the duration of the Burst.

Passive Talent (Utility): “Another Round!”

When Eden crafts a potion, she has a 10% chance of receiving double the product.

Constellations

Sheltered Heart - Party members (excluding Eden) shielded by Dawning Fortress have an increased Elemental Mastery of 80.

Slick and Sly - If an Elemental Absorption occurs during Spirits of the Gale, targets have their RES of that element decreased by 15%, More than one RES decrease can occur.

Safe Once More - Increases the level of Dawning Fortress by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.

Homebrewed - Increases maximum Elemental Absorption that can occur during Spirits of the Gale from 2 to 4.

Unspoken Farewells - Increases the level of Spirits of the Gale by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.

Homage to the Fallen - For each element absorbed by the spirits of Spirits of the Gale, Eden receives an Anemo DMG bonus of 15% (up to 60%) for 20 seconds.
