I know people adore Pete Capella's Silver and his "fourteen year old with a chip on his shoulder" idea but that direction is just not Silver's character. Keep in mind that the dorky personality from the comics is based entirely on making fun of Pete's voice and is antithetical to everything Silver from the games is actually supposed to be. Pete isn't a bad actor or anything but he needs better direction.

All three of Silver's English voices sound prepubescent and unserious because they are ONLY trying to sound young and not conveying anything else about Silver's actual character. Sonic Team just doesn't tell them to convey anything but how young he is. Silver is a hotheaded character with a serious character design and a violent apocalyptic backstory. He shouldn't sound nasally and prepubescent just because he's young.

Look at this character design and honestly tell me that the official English voices fit this just because the character is fourteen.

Xeph the Panda's Silver voice from @firstsnowcomicdub is what Silver should sound in English. A deep and raspy voice that still sounds like a teenager. Anyone voicing Silver should strive to sound like this.

Silver's personality in the comics has always been the exact opposite of what it's supposed to be and it was always purely because they misread Pete Capella's Silver voice and didn't pay attention to what Silver actually says or does in the games.

It's not depth, development or a different side to him. It was always not realizing Silver's actual game personality and misreading his character based purely on Pete Capella's high pitched Silver voice(Side note: No, Silver should not have a high pitched voice just because he's 14). Ian did not know that Silver has ever even been rude alongside many other blatant and basic things about him.

Once Ian hears Silver's deep Japanese voice and understands that Silver is supposed to be rude and straight to the point you can say goodbye to the Archie/IDW Silver characterizations as those were always just unintentional parodies of how Pete Capella sounded and a slap to the face of both the actor and the character. You don't get to ignore Silver's intended characterization just because you're disinterested in it.

The thing about Nocturne, Vortex, and Undergrowth is that any one of them could have carried a whole hour long special yet instead are treated as your typical villain of the week despite being far more dangerous.

That's very true. There was a much harder lean into more traditional "comic booky" antagonists in season 3, and they were all very powerful and far more impersonal and large-scale than DP's earlier villains. Not necessarily a problem, but the execution left a lot to be desired in most cases since they each got one episode apiece.

Undergrowth is conceptually my least favorite of the three (Not a big fan of plant gimmicks. And why would a ghost be associated with something living, like plants? Is he meant to be the amalgamated spirit of every plant that's ever died? What's happening?!) But Urban Jungle is a structurally solid episode, even if Danny really didn't struggle much to beat a supposedly "almost impossible to defeat" enemy. Thanks, random ice powers!

Vortex is just as iffy a concept as Undergrowth, but I don't care as much. He has objectively the ugliest design out of all of DP's ghosts, though. I kind of like his blustery, brutish personality despite how annoying he is. Torrent of Terror gets a thumbs up from me solely on the basis of being a Vlad episode.

Nocturne has the best design and concept of the three, no contest. So it figures he'd get saddled with the worst episode. At least you could say Undergrowth and Vortex's gimmicks were utilized as much as they could have been. Nocturne could have brought out a deeper psychological side to the characters, and instead Frightmare was used for ship bait while Nocturne himself does almost nothing of substance. :(

Storytelling: The heroes must always win at the end

Mobius: The term Mobius and it's other terms, Mobians and Mobini are banned because they originate from 90s US Canon and Sonic Team wants to make it clear that Sonic games take place on Earth

Exception: Sonic Spinball being canonized via Origins, Ian Flynn and the Sonic Channel canonizes Planet Mobius and Mount Mobius, (unless they decide to change these)
