Honestly I've seen some kinda weird takes when it comes to the scene of Alastor threatening Husk and I guess just their dynamic overall.
youtube
When it comes to the scene of him threatening Husk I've seen takes vary from
"" Alastor doesn't always act like this he was clearly just stressed and Husk was pressing him but it isn't the same as Val and Angel so its not really that bad ""
to "" well Husk is a former overlord himself so he kinda deserves it ""
to "" Alastor could have done a lot worse so he deserves credit for showing so much self restraint ""
that last one is something I'm still kinda baffled I actually heard people online actually say 😂😂.
to be clear so no one gets the wrong end of the stick this isn't me trying to say no one should like Alastor or anything like that
or your not allowed to like Alastor and dislike Val or your not allowed to find the Angel and Val dynamic more disturbing or anything like that
those are all perfectly fair things to feel I just find some takes on this particular scene and Husk and Al's dynamic overall to be a bit odd
when it seems like people downplay it a bit or make out the dynamic to be not bad overall.
when its like Al is obviously a bad guy I mean that's part of why so many people love him and its perfectly fine to like Villains who do bad things
so I don't really understand the need people would feel to do this type of thing?
like I can understand someone making the argument that Al wasn't wrong to take Husk's power back when he was an overlord
as he was actively Hurting people with said power by Gambling with their lives and freedom and whatnot
but that's kinda as far as I think its justifiable tbh it isn't exactly justifiable him threatening to do presumably what he did to the other overlords to him
or just be a Dehumanising Dick who has a bad effect on his already kinda depressive mental state.
idk like I said I'm not trying to be a jerk to anyone over their opinions but I do think maybe it is a bit of a problem people constantly comparing the situation to Val and Angel as a way to make out its not bad at all
which I do see happen quite a lot tho to be fair the show itself did have a whole segment of the characters relating over their experiences so that's probably why it does get compared so often.
Guess I'm just Rambling at this point haha 😅😅 but I do find some takes on Husk and Al to be a touch Disheartening and unempathetic tbh.

I finally made a little video of all of Creek's scenes in the first movie tho its kinda suprising to see that he dosn't really have that many scenes where he's actually the focus
most of his scenes are basically just him being background noise tbh I mean most online websites list him as the films secondary antagonist but he's barely in the film 😂😂
which ya know is a shame if the movie was going to do him so dirty anyway then they could have at least given him another one or two major scenes where he actually gets to be the focus and say some lines 😌😌.

little something I was thinking about yesterday but what if Creek was made into a more tragic antagonist ( I mean intentionally tragic 😂😂)
Like maybe for starters he is just portrayed as more normal in the situation actually being super conflicted over his betrayal
but at the same time he's bloody terrified of dying in such a Horrible way like imagine Poppy in the cage begging him not to do this
and he can't even look at her because he's so ashamed and clearly judging himself but at the same time his experiences that day have made him kinda Resigned to his Helplessness
and he knows he's about to do something he'll regret for the rest of his life but he just can't not do it because he's so terrified.
and in the end he actually gets a sad ending where even after doing what Chef wanted and betraying everyone he cares about she just cruelly kills him anyway in front of a Horrified Poppy with his death still being presented as a tragedy really
and is another reason why Poppy is so Heartbroken and has lost all Hope just before the true colours song happens.
and by the end of the movie Poppy is still shown mourning him by giving him some sort of tribute in the Village
with his overall Role being a tragic antagonist who wasn't a bad person really and is still acknowledged by the characters as a tragic victim of circumstance more than anything
so this way the movie could have still made Creek complex and human without having to Rush in a Redemption arc for him during the final song and thus upset the flow of the climax.
tho tbh I still think him surviving the movie could have worked even if he didn't get a Rushed last minute Redemption
and maybe instead we just saw something along the lines of him nearly being taken along with Chef on the cooker during the climax but just before that happens
Poppy reaches her Hair out for him to Grab and she saves him from being taken off with her and afterwards he is still afforded a second chance but this way I actually think would be pretty powerful for Poppy's character
as she'd be saving someone who betrayed her and hurt her feelings in a big way but still showing maturity in acknowledging that he had his reasons and doesn't deserve to die for what he did
and when it comes to his actual Redemption arc well they could just explore that more in Depth in TBGO since the first film wouldn't have really had time for it.

I had a thought but if the first Trolls movie got the live action remake treatment in the not too far future then what things do you think it could potentially improve on from the original film?
Tumblr media
So I just saw the How to train your dragon remake recently
( I'll admit I got nostalgia suckered 😂😂 since I was a kid when the original came out and thus seeing this new version after not having seen the original since I was younger brought up some nice feelings )
so this got me thinking about the idea of the first Trolls movie potentially getting the live action remake treatment sometime in the next few years
I know it isn't particularly old but lets be honest DreamWorks and Disney don't really care about that kinda stuff lol I mean they're remaking Moana despite that also being from 2016 so it isn't impossible for Trolls.
and while I do agree with the general consensus that these Remakes are mostly pointless I do think a potential Remake of Trolls would be interesting to talk about
just in regards to what kinda changes you think would be neat to see if it did get a Remake?
( either actual live action or just "" Live action "" CGI similar to the lion king remake )
so what do you think would be some good changes and additions you'd maybe like to see if the first movie did get this treatment?
I was thinking maybe it'd be kinda cool if the movie played up the Horror of the Bergens a bit more like made them more visually intimidating
and framed Chef's arrival in the village in a more sinister classic monster movie type way where we don't see full shots of her body but instead only parts of her and maybe she isn't even heard talking during this scene.
so like I said adding a bit more of a classic Horror element to the Bergens before they get humanised to the audience Via Gristle Jr and Bridget later in the movie.
also I think it'd be nice if Chef being the one who killed Branch's Grandma was actually acknowledged a little as its technically canon but the original movie never really brings it up
but I think there is some interesting ways they could do this either
Branch does in fact Remember Chef from the day his Grandma was taken and this could be used to foreshadow his backstory a bit earlier on the film like maybe when Poppy goes to his Bunker to ask him for help in rescuing her friends she happens to mention that the Bergen who took them was wearing a Chef's uniform which immediately catches Branch's attention for a second but Poppy doesn't question him on this at the time. and later on when they both are spying on the Bergens from above Branch Apon seeing Chef again actually flat out has some sorta panic attack or just freezes in place unresponsive to Poppy for a minute until she's able to help him calm down but again it'd subtly foreshadow his backstory reveal and acknowledge his past with Chef.
or they could have it be the case where Branch doesn't actually remember her straight away due to being so young and having somewhat blocked out the traumatic memory so later on when he finally sees her again maybe something similar as in my other idea happens but Branch is kinda triggered and has some flashbacks with this again serving as a bit of foreshadowing for his backstory reveal later on and maybe it even leads to Branch trying to convince Poppy to leave Bergentown in a panic after he suddenly remembers who Chef is tho Poppy doesn't know at the time exactly why he's so scared all of a sudden when he was fine with the rescue mission before.
also another thing a Remake could potentially change for the better is Creeks writing where it could either do a better job of making it seem like he had other choices so his betrayal is less understandable
( and also just have him suffer less overall so his Role in the story feels less mean spirited )
or just portray him as a more Redeemable character overall like have him appear more conflicted during the betrayal and then have him be given a second chance at the end
maybe after plucking up some courage to help save Poppy and Branch from Chef during the climax and her fate remains the same since she works fairly well as an irredeemable Villain.
anyway what about you? what are some changes and additions you think would be neat for a potential Remake of the first movie to add?

Saw Ballerina earlier and just wanted to put out some quick thoughts
I think the film was overall good and I did very much enjoy it mostly for the action scenes lol and Eve was a fairly likable new main character I thought
but the main issues I have with the film are with the pacing it felt way too fast imo like the film just really didn't take the time to actually develop anyone else beyond surface level
like she meets Norman Redus and he just instantly tells her his deal and then vanishes from the movie or she finds out she has a sister and has one quick talk with her and then she's gone from the movie
like I honestly wish the movie had taken more time to maybe have Eve develop a bit of a bond with Norman Redus and his daughter
so her going to save the daughter when she's taken thus helping a child and her father get free from the life when her and her own dad weren't able to feels more earned story wise.
plus the Villain was underwhelming imo he seemed kinda interesting to me in that first scene due to his stated beliefs of not believing in free will and that they all have no real choice in their own terrible actions
which seems like the kinda thing that should have been used to contrast him with our main character and her arc in some interesting thematic way but it wasn't really.
plus I wish that Keanu was actually in the film less as him showing up for that fight towards the end was neat but I feel like seeing him those couple of times earlier in the film made his eventual arrival for the fight unspecial
and it felt like they were relying a little too much on an already popular main character for fan service.
so overall I did enjoy the film mostly for its action scenes but I Hope in the next film in the JW universe a bit more effort is made in trying to add depth to the characters and it isn't afraid to slow down the story a little bit.

I've been thinking and I think I actually figured out a pretty simple way to fix the issue's with Creek's writing in the first movie just don't have him be the one who they spend the later half of the movie trying to save.
So I've been thinking about the first movie some more recently ( since it is still my favourite of the bunch ) And I had a thought in regards to the one thing about the film that's always bugged me aka the way the movie's writing screws over Creek and unfairly villainises him
Despite putting him in a much more dire situation than any other Troll in the movie
and well I was thinking there is actually a pretty simple way I feel they could have fixed this so the movie could still have its little surprise villain twist but make the writing less unfair
and make Creek a lot easier to judge and that is that they just shouldn't have had him be the member of the snack pack that the gang spends the second half of the movie trying to save
That's it its pretty simple I feel like I should have thought of this idea ages ago tbh 😂😂
But yeah just switch the movie around only a tiny bit and have it be another member of the snack pack who gets snatched from the cage early on
Tho since in the original the only reason they didn't go through with eating Creek was due to him agreeing to betray the village we'd have to change that detail slightly
to maybe just have it that Gristle was going to eat them but decided against it thinking he should wait until they have enough Trolls for all of his people to have one as well before he gets to eat one.
and the movie could play out pretty much the same Branch and Poppy go to save the snack pack in Bridget's room only this time Creek is with them
and the member of the group they need to stick around to save is maybe Guy Diamond? or Smidge? who it is doesn't actually matter tbh main point is that it isn't Creek
so the movie's events play out the same the gang finds out their friend is being kept in Gristle's locket they try to save them but all get captured by Chef
but while they are all in the cage Creek does his big heel turn and betrays everyone offering to sell out the village for his own life and taking Poppy's Cowbell
The big important change here is that 1. Creek wouldn't have literally been through worse than any other Troll and basically tortured into submission ( The guy was literally kept in an a dark hole less tiny locket for hours on end )
and 2. it makes it so Creek's character actually had other choices in the film in this case he could have just stood by his friends who were in the same situation as him
and had faith that if they stuck together they could have figured a way out of their situation and if he had his faith would have been rewarded
as he along with the rest of his friends would have been set free by Bridget just before the Trollstice began and thus would have gotten to live
so him choosing to ditch his friends in a bad situation and also land everyone else in the village in trouble to save his own life when he had other ways to survive
would have made him a lot easier to judge imo
I feel like this is the way the movie wants him to be viewed and the way a lot of fans seem to view him but like I said I'm sorry but the writing messed this up big time
by having him go through so much horrible crap that no other Troll goes through and by having him be stripped of the same options that the other Trolls had
aka his friends were all given the option of waiting for rescue in their cages none of them were ever put in the same position of immediate certain death like Creek was
also this way we could actually foreshadow his more selfish nature a little earlier on through some more interactions with Branch and Poppy
as after Poppy and Branch rescue him and the rest of the snack pack from the cage in Bridget's room early on
he could be the only one who is openly trying to suggest the group all leave Bergentown and thus leave the member of their group whose still being kept in Gristle's locket to their gruesome fate
Only for Poppy to give her usual enthusiastic hopeful little speech of no troll left behind which excitedly inspires all her friends and its sorta clear Creek only goes along with it because
everyone else is and he doesn't want to be seen as the only person unwilling to try and save them.
so this way Creek could actually work better as a twist villain imo as it would come about after having a few more interactions such as this with Poppy and Branch
where he becomes more and more distanced from his group of friends with his true nature coming out in more and more little ways
maybe during Branch's backstory reveal Creek is the only one who doesn't rush to comfort him
and instead is shown being visibly perplexed at his friends all acting supportive and chummy with the village weirdo who he openly still looks down on despite him helping save his life
so when Creek does finally betray them it isn't just a sudden personality change like it is in the finished film and instead is the natural end point
of a load of small things from Creek that have been building on each other throughout the film gradually showing him in a worse and worse light
until eventually he makes the ultimate selfish move and shows how little faith he has in his friends.
making him an actual selfish hateable selfish villain rather than the movie and the fandom's punchbag who basically gets tortured a bunch and told he deserved to gruesomely die
for making one passive aggressive remark to someone who was openly rude to him and his friends on no doubt countless occasions lol.
anyway this is all just a thought I was having recently thank you for reading namaste

something that always gets me whenever people bring up Creek's remorsless attitude as the reason why he didn't deserve a second chance at the end and did in fact deserve to die with Chef
is that his attitude honestly makes zero difference to his circumstances in the movie
like lets think about it
if he was a super compassionate and kind hearted person then he would have simply been eaten early on when Chef shoved him into Gristle's mouth
or even if he was more compassionate but still went through with the betrayal but displayed as much open remorse and hesitation as possible
well then that also wouldn't have made any difference as he still would have been sentenced to death by the narrative just for the act of the betrayal alone.
so the narrative and the fandom justifying his death due to his lack of remorse is strange because it literally makes no difference to the stuff that happens to him in the story
even leaving aside the hypocritical double standard in the fandom of still sympathising with certain villains and declaring them worthy of second chances
despite them also not displaying any remorse in their movies ( Barb and Crimp come to mind )
so Creeks attitude really shouldn't be a factor in the conversation of wether or not he deserved another chance because it honestly makes no difference to his circumstances or actions or his eventual fate.
and in terms of his actions well all I can think is if your not willing to give someone a second chance for doing something wrong when they were kidnappted tortured and left with no other choice
then I don't see why you'd ever be willing to do the same for any other antagonists? since someone quite literally being forced to do wrong with no real other options
is surely the best possible reason someone could have for doing bad things
( maybe only second to idk someone comitting a crime in order to save their loved ones or something )
also on a mini last note I always find it bizaar whenever people say things like
"" this character only did this to save their own skin "" with contempt as if that's somehow worse than them doing it for other reasons
like doing something bad to save your own life is for some reason seen by soceity as more evil and slimy than doing evil for seemingly any other reason.
which is honestly kinda backwards tbh.

Trolls but its Creek being the victim for 2 minutes and 33 seconds ( like serously how can anyone not feel bad for this guy when he went through all this in the movie? 😭😭 )
I included part of the scene where he's explaining himself to Poppy despite most people normally seeing it as his worst moment
as I think this specific part still portrays him as a victim as literally what he's saying is that if he had another choice he wouldn't be doing this
but his captor who he's been at the mercy of for Hours is literally standing over him sharpening knives so like how is he the bad guy here in the writers minds?

I disagree tbh mate the anti Blitzo party is just people venting their negative emotions in a way that dosen't actually hurt anyone and allows people the chance to just feel sad which is honestly healthy in my book
I feel like suggesting this is unhealthy is basically just saying that no one is allowed to express literally any negative sentiment towards Blitzo nor do anything about it
because if they aren't allowed to do something as harmless as this in order to cope then what are they allowed to do in your book?
also I have issue with trying to frame this as en equal blame type situation when all we know about Verosika and Blitzo's relationship is that she told him she loved him
and he intentionally self sabotaged the relationship and was shitty to her.
this is kinda what I mean when I say that Blitzo is a touch babied by the fandom tbh as not everything is Grey mate he is just in the wrong in some situations and other people calling him out on it
or finding ways to deal with how he treated them dosn't automatically make them just as bad as him or even in the wrong at all.
Verosika has her own sins for sure but none of them are to do with her and Blitzo's relationship in which she was just the victim of shitty treatment tbh.
Just because Blitzo is overall a complicated character and the show has some pretty complicated relationships and dynamics
dosn't mean that literally every relationship or dynamic is compliaced and morally grey ya know?
in some instances a Duck is a Duck.
"Verosika has every right to be angry at Blitz" and "the anti-Blitzo party is extremely unhealthy and Verosika is a hypocrite for telling Blitz to move on when she clearly can't do that herself" are statements that can co-exist. I love Verosika, but acting like she did 0% wrong isn't good either.
This entire show and the relationships between the characters are build on nuance and complexity. Even characters who are mostly right will always have a little bit of wrong in them. And during AT Blitz is mostly wrong and a little right, and Verosika is mostly right and a little wrong.
And this applies to literally every character. Acting like they have literally 0% blame in 100% of the things they've said and done makes them extremely boring and bland at best. Characters need flaws and things they technically shouldn't have said or done to be well-rounded and interesting.
Speaking of, this is one of the reasons I love the Stolas and Via scene in Sinsnas so much. Though Via is mostly right and is justified to feel the way she feels, it was still wrong of her to use someone's medication against them and that's a mistake she seriously needs to learn from.

What's your favourite Stella scene?
youtube
I was originally going to go for the "" Hilarious "" scene because I do genuinely love that scene for how over the top petty it is that its probably one of the funniest scenes in the show to me 😂😂😂😂
but after thinking about it a touch more I went with this scene as tbh it feels like one of if not the only moment where Stella is actually somewhat taken seriously by the story as an abuser
Rather than the rest of the time where her Horribleness is literally just made into a Joke because of how blatant she is.
so this scene feels like a Rarity where Stella and Stolas's marriage situation is a bit more than just a comedic Gag because of how bad it is
and the impact it has on Stolas actually feels kinda serous based on how he talks about it and how he acts at the end of the scene after finally saying they are definitely getting a divorce.
so yeah that's why I think this is probably my favourite scene involving Stella.

I Hope next season we do get to see some new character outfits and different designs for them.
Tumblr media
I recently was scrolling fanart and came across this bit of Husk merch by accident and quite liked it its a slightly more traditional Hotel Barman outfit that looks pretty neat
and that's kinda what got me thinking about how it'd be nice to see more new looks for our characters next season
( I just quite like the apron and the more professional less washed up look for Husk that maybe could be used as a visual sign for his own mental improvement as time has gone on next season
now that he's started to be less pessimistic about his situation and afterlife as a whole and thus puts more effort into it
and who knows maybe takes a bit of pride in his Job being the Bartender who everyone feels like they can go to with their problems and feel a touch better opening up 💝💝 ).
also not sure how Hot or Cold a take this will be? but I actually prefer Alastor's Green and Purple look during the greatest dad song
Tumblr media
I find Al's normal look to not be anything special tbh (besides the Deer ears which are kinda cute lol )
and I actually really love this look for him with the bright and dark purple colours and Hair not to mention the green skin
while I know they aren't likely to change Al's signature design to this extent next season I would still kinda like to see some new looks for him in terms of suits
like this dark and bright purple one and other less Red colours given most of Hell is red so it isn't particularly nice to look at haha 😅😅.
and idk maybe with Angel we could see a new design at some point that's a little more casual than his usual flashy outfits
as that'd be a nice little change which could maybe show how he's feeling less and less of the need to put on the Angel Dust persona 24/7 these days.
what about you? are there any alternative designs for characters your kinda hoping we see in the show next season? ( be it ones similar to designs you've seen in fanart or in merch? ).

I still think this is a pretty interesting question to think about.
in Brother Bear do you think had you been in Koda's position you would have been able to forgive Kenai?
I'm just curious to Hear what people think as Honestly BB is probably one of the most Daring Disney or just animated films in general
for taking a forgiveness message to probably the Highest extreme you can take it with someone literally taking a loved one from you.
Wether you believe it works well or not you have to admit it took Guts from the writers to even try this in a story let alone a kids story.
anyway what do you think? do you think you would have been able to give Kenai another chance had you been in Koda's position?
obviously there was certain circumstances around it that make it somewhat more understandable even if not 100 percent justified
such as Sitka's death and Kenai being so blinded by Rage that he likely wasn't thinking about what he was doing and the possible consequences it could have.
what do you think?

do you think that they should have Gone with the original Deleted scene idea where we see Kenai confess to Koda without the song playing over it? or do you prefer the way it was in the finished film?
youtube
personally I've always thought they should have kept this scene in as its a lot more emotional getting to hear everything the characters are saying and the more slow Gradual build-up to him telling Koda
in my opinion it just makes it more Heartbreaking I read that apparently it was changed because Test audiences found it too Dark for a kids film
but I feel kids films have Gone Darker than this and still been seen as acceptable by parents and kids alike
as it is the scene in the finished film is okay and I do actually like the song but I just feel they should have pushed it back so the song only played after Koda Runs away following the full confession
what do you think?

If the show does try to Humanise Alastor a touch more in the future then how do you think Viz could go about doing it?
Tumblr media
I was thinking about this the other day and maybe it could be interesting if we see a Hotel guest that actually rattles Al and makes it genuinely hard for him to maintain his usual supportive act around Charlie
given Viz has said in the past that he was a mummy's boy I've seen some people in the past theorise about that meaning that his dad was abusive
and that's another reason why he gets on with women better than men a lot of the time.
so maybe it could potentially be a neat little humanising episode for him if Charlie shows up excitedly with a new Hotel guest who is looking for Redemption
and it turns out to be Al's dad and thus this creates an interesting little scenario
where Al is obviously experiencing tons of conflicting emotions that he's having to push down so he can maintain his Role as Charlie's trusted Hotel partner
and he has to swallow his tongue when it comes to Charlie's well meaning but sorta insensitive attempts to fix his relationship with his dad.
and idk exactly how it goes but I Kinda like the idea that by the end of the episode Al gets confronted by Charlie about his struggle with his presence at the Hotel
and he seemingly actually opens up to Charlie a little about his life and his upbringing and his love for his mother
and Charlie actually gives him some words that surprising to him actually kinda get through to him on a certain level and its overall a nice scene of bonding
but it is still left somewhat up to the audience as to how genuine Al was being and how much of it was just him continuing to manipulate Charlie
by opening up to her and thus making her think they have a deeper relationship than they actually do.
anyway that was just one idea I was thinking about yesterday but what do you think they should do if they do humanise Al a bit more in the future?

TBH the more I think about it the more Peppy just straight up seems like a Karma Houdini tbh.
For anyone unfamilair that's a story trope name for a character who does bad actions but receaves no consequences or very unsevere consequences for said actions and gets away with everything by the end of the story.
I mean in the first film he was a borderline negligent leader who despite living through the Bergen situation still lead his people in a way that left them woefully unprepared for the possibility of ever running into Bergens or any sort of threat again
( it makes him look especially bad given how Viva was shown to have prepared her group of Trolls for such an occasion )
and then when the snack pack are taken by Chef as a result of Peppy's bad leadership
well he wants to leave them to their fate and not even try and help them even tho it is kinda his fault that they are in this situation to begin with 😅😅
and of course in the second movie lies about other Troll Tribes existing and about the strings which are so important to their Tribe that it can literally end their music
or even be combined into a species enslaving weapon yet he didn't think Poppy should know any of this despite her being queen
and of course in the third film he lied about Viva's existence for Poppy's whole life.
now just to be clear I don't think that any of these acts in a vacuum would be unforgivable as they do each kinda have their reasons especially the Viva case given Grief can be complex
but all together they show a pretty consistent behaviour from him that makes him appear as a kinda bad untrustworthy person overall
whose actions at best betray his daughters trust in him and at worst actively puts their Tribe in Danger
and ngl him basically causing the snack pack to get taken but not wanting to take any steps to help them almost makes him look villainous tbh 😅😅
its sorta like he's made bad choices and betrayed people's trust in the movies time and time again and at most it gets mentioned by his daughters as a little Joke even when his actions have serous consequences
like they did in the first film yet the only person who paid the price for it was Creek 😔😔 which is why I've said before I kinda feel like narratively it'd have made more sense for Peppy to be the traitor
given the whole situation was down to his negligent leadership so it'd kinda make the act a tad worse and thus it'd be more justified him being killed along with Chef at the end of the film.
but maybe the third film could have just had a minor scene of Poppy actually confronting him over this stuff and while he isn't straight up made into a villain or anything
it could have been clear that he's lost Poppy's trust and respect and things aren't ever going to be the same between them again
which technically would have tied into the films family message in a certain way.
