Hi! What’s your favorite art project you’ve worked on?

Yo!!! Nocturne was a joy to work on! I learned a heck ton about production that I've taken forward to the job I'm on now.

There were tough days, for sure. Like, I don't think there's ever been a totally smooth production aha. Still, I'm fond of the team~ Folks put a lot of effort in the show.

While I like drawing and animating, I want to continue on with the production admin side. It scratches an itch for me that combines art with technical stuff.

So, read the first arcs of both IDW2 and Skybound Transformers. Was expecting a tonal whiplash between the two, but it's so extreme that I gotta laugh.

Going from this

in IDW2 where it's all like Cybertron is an alien planet and look at all this strange fun stuff to

WAR IS HELL in Skybound ahahaha. There's ah....not much to chew on with this series, so I just turned off my brain and imagined the writer/artist just slamming action figures together.

I'm the kind of person where you need to make me care about the characters and stakes for me to get into the action and fighting. Maybe the series will surprise me later on and do something different with the concept.

We'll also see where IDW2 leads as well.

I read Phase 1 of og IDW for the first time this year, and like, if I had started with that, I would have never gotten into the franchise. It was ROUGH. I do not like Furman or his writing (I understand that if I ever read the Marvel comics, Imma have to deal with a LOT of him........oof). The other two writers were....okay. Costa and McCarthy. But yeah. It was tough to get through at multiple points. Still, things got better when Phase 2 started. Who knows if this will happen with any of the others!

So yeah, onto the second arcs for both in my free time~

Look, I love, LOVE, Starscream as a character, but I feel bad for anyone within the text who have the misfortune of liking him. And by feeling bad, I mean absolutely loving them coming to the realization they're in love with one of the shittiest bots out there. Notorious backstabber and opportunist who is disliked by every person in existence. A bot who would rather die than admit his actual feelings.

There's gotta be a level of self awareness for anyone in the text liking him. Gotta say, those are my favorite pairings with him (also enjoy Starscream being forced to become a better person and it's like pulling teeth due to all his baggage).

Transformers Comics

I spent the past month or so rereading the IDW Transformers comics (specifically the 2005-2018 run), which left me with a lot of emotions. The comics were what got me into Transformers. Before then, I knew stuff from culture osmosis and the Michael Bay films. Needless to say, the IDW comics opened my eyes to what the franchise could be and I've been hooked ever since.

That said, outside of these comics, I've only ready a few issues of IDW2 and um, that's it. SO! Transformers fandom! I ask of you, what Transformers comics should I read next?! Idk, maybe I'll live blog it or something; depends if I feel strongly enough to ahaha (I sure did have posts back in the days on my IDW reactions so y'know...)
