Atheist Coffee Mug
“Reason saves, faith enslaves. (That's pretty good: try it on a coffee mug.)” - quote from here: https://web.archive.org/web/20100402094643/https://rjosephhoffmann.wordpress.com/2010/03/28/neohumanism-a-center-for-intellectuals/

It’s the same coffee mug, just with coffee in it in the second picture.

Solo American Women Oscar Winners
Just for my own personal interest, keeping track of which categories in the Oscars women are eligible for (like, not best actor) have been won by at least one solo American woman, by giving an example of a solo American woman (not necessarily the first or only) who has won that category. I’m going by the categories in the 2025 Oscars, which you can see here if you scroll down: https://www.oscars.org/oscars/ceremonies/2025
So, going by those categories in the order they are listed at the above link, and using the year the Oscars were held as the year people won, rather than by when the movie came out:
Actress in a leading role: Mikey Madison (won 2025)
Actress in a supporting role: Zoe Saldaña (won 2025)
Animated Short Film: Joan C. Gratz (won 1993, https://www.oscars.org/oscars/ceremonies/1993)
Costume Design: Ruth Carter (won 2023, https://www.oscars.org/oscars/ceremonies/2023)
Directing: Kathryn Bigelow (won 2010, https://www.oscars.org/oscars/ceremonies/2010)
Documentary Feature Film: Barbara Kopple (won 1977, https://www.oscars.org/oscars/ceremonies/1977)
Documentary Short Film: Debra Chasnoff (won 1992, https://www.oscars.org/oscars/ceremonies/1992)
Film Editing: Verna Fields (won 1976, https://www.oscars.org/oscars/ceremonies/1976)
Original Song: Carly Simon (won 1989, https://www.oscars.org/oscars/ceremonies/1989)
Live Action Short Film: Joan Keller Stern (won 1970, https://aaspeechesdb.oscars.org/link/042-18)
Adapted Screenplay: Siân Heder (won in 2022, https://www.oscars.org/oscars/ceremonies/2022)
Original Screenplay: Callie Khouri (won in 1992, https://www.oscars.org/oscars/ceremonies/1992)
So that leaves the currently existing Oscar categories no American woman has won solo as of 2025 (after the Oscars that year, not counting all-male categories, and going in order according to the currently existing categories as shown at the link https://www.oscars.org/oscars/ceremonies/2025) as:
Animated Feature Film
Cinematography
Makeup and Hairstyling
Original Score
Best Picture
Production Design
Sound
Visual Effects
As for what’s now called Best International Film, which women but not American women are eligible for, it has been won by at least one solo woman, Caroline Link, a German who won in 2003 for directing the German film Nowhere in Africa: https://www.dw.com/en/german-film-wins-oscar/a-815970
Next year there will be an Achievement in Casting Oscar, and in a few years there will be a Stunt Design Oscar (see here:https://awardsradar.com/2025/04/16/its-refreshing-to-see-the-academy-listen-and-add-the-correct-new-oscar-categories/) so I’ll keep this post updated with that and any categories a solo American woman wins for the first time.
