Was reading a Harry goes to Durmstrang fic and the author had something along the lines of, “It was very cold in Norway, regularly reaching down to 10C and constantly snowing.”

*Sigh

10 degrees Celsius…

How very snowy…

I keep seeing people on here say that Percy knows 4 languages and like??? He doesn’t???? English, Ancient Greek, Latin—that’s 3. The 4th is stated to be Spanish, the evidence of this being that Percy’s taking a dual enrollment course with a community college. Y’all clearly never took a language course in school. I took Spanish for 4 years. By that last year I could sorta kinda hold a conversation, could read really basic stuff, and could vaguely understand tv shows in Spanish. But I didn’t know the language. Wouldn’t consider myself fluent at all. And it’s not like I did badly in the class or anything. I got As and Bs and went to a decent school.

In the first year, you learn to say stuff like:

“I like pizza.”

“It’s hot.”

“Hello. How are you?”

“I am intelligent.”

“I eat apples for breakfast.”

“It’s 11:53 AM.”

Percy does not know Spanish guys.
