Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Synopsis:
Five years ago, Andie Bell, a girl in Pippa's village, was murdered by her boyfriend Sal Singh, but the body was never found. Pippa suspects it wasn't an open-and-shut case and chooses to make a study of it for her final year project at school.

Review and Rant:
I love this book. Like no joke, this is one of the books that got me into reading. So I read this book around this time of the year. And I'm still amazed at how the plot went. I loved how Pippa aka Pip had solved the case.
I also like the romance in the book doesn't strain away from the plot and that it wasn't the book's main focus. The subplot of the romance was just done so nicely it's just perfect. Also, I'm finna SPOIL the ending of the book so be aware of what you're going to read.
******SPOILER****** When I first read about the fact that Mr. Ward Killed Sal I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED. I'm not going to lie, Mr. Ward was one of my favorite characters in the book. And when they thought they found Andie I was so shocked it was obvious why I was shocked but when they were like that's not her the way I audibly gasped.
If you read a lot of murder mysteries then you're probably going to guess that her sister Beca (I think; I don't have the book rn) but the reason is what shocked me. Y'all Max that disgusting vale nasty and overall disturbing book character r@ped her and Andie was like what do you want me to do about it.
*****End of spoiler******
But that's the last thing I would say about this book. I loved it. And it will always be my favorite book 4.75 great book would reconmend

Kill Joy By Holly Jackson
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Synopsis: Pippa Fitz-Amobi is not in the mood for her friend's murder mystery party. Especially one that involves 1920's fancy dress and pretending that their town, Little Kilton, is an island called Joy. But when the game begins, Pip finds herself drawn into the make-believe world of intrigue, deception and murder.
Tumblr media
Review and Rant:
I really don't have much to say about this book. I really liked it. I liked how we got to see why Pip choose to do that case. And it's really attention-grabbing. Anyways, the book is a short novella with a total of 12 chapters. So it's a quick read.
Also, this book takes place before the series started so sadly you won't be getting any Pip and Ravi moments sadly. But except that it's a pretty awesome book and I would give it a 4.5 stars out of 5 stars. The book is also bittersweet I just wanted to add that because if you read the whole entire series then you would know why it's bittersweet.
Anyways there's not much to say about the book.

It Ends With Us by Collen Hoover
Synopsis:
Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up — she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.
Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.
As questions about her new relationship overwhelms her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan — her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.
Review and Rant
This was my very first Collen Hoover book and I loved it. And I kinds of still do but I don't think this is a complete 5-star read I think it's a 3.75-star read.
This book also made me shed a tear I'm going to lie I felt "refreshed" after reading this book. And this book is also kinda like an autobiography for the author because this story is based on her mom's experience with the author's dad. So yea... Also here's a trigger warning because the book deals with abuse. Like when I read the synopsis of the book I thought this was going to be a fun love triangle. IT IS NOT. Let me repeat. THIS BOOK IS NOT A LOVE TRIANGLE.
Because I was shocked when Ryle put his hands on Lilly. I mean yeah it was an obvious red flag at the beginning of the book. But I did not expect him to hit Lilly. And also Ryle is kinda funny when he busted into the restroom where Lilly and Atlas were and this man literally said "This Atlas?" The homeless boy you pity-fucked?" the way I had to take a break from reading that day and the loud GASP I did. It was real. I'm sorry that was kinda funny.
The book also has an ICONIC quote and it's "just keep swimming, Lilly"
Will I recommend it? Yes. That's all folks.

The Spanish Love Deception by Elena Armas
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Synopsis:
Catalina Martin desperately needs a date to her sister's wedding. Especially since her little white lie about her American Boyfriend has spiraled out of control. Now everyone she knows- including her ex and his fiancée will be there and eager to meet him.
She only has four weeks to find someone willing to cross the Atlantic and aid in her deception. New York to Spain is no short flight and her raucous family won’t be easy to fool.
Enter Aaron Blackford—her tall, handsome, condescending colleague—who surprisingly offers to step in. She’d rather refuse; never has there been a more aggravating, blood-boiling, and insufferable man.
But Catalina is desperate, and as the wedding draws nearer, Aaron looks like her best option. And she begins to realize he might not be as terrible in the real world as he is at the office.

Review and Rant
So, I would like to start with the characters first. So the main character Catalina aka Lina's only personality is "disliking/ hating" Aaron. and just overall a flat character. Like when I was reading the book at the time I kinda liked her but after like 3rd or 4th chapter I was ready to pack it up and go home. Next, there's Aaron Blackford if I'm being honest he wasn't that developed AT ALL. His character is so flat it's flatter than my Deans' Ass. No joke. His only personality was Just being the hostess male lead that's a white male American with blue eyes who likes Catalina.
Look, I don't hate the book, and if I'm being honest at the time it was very enjoyable but the story started to drag itself. It felt like a never-ending book. Like it took so long for them to go to Spain I forgot they were even going to Spain. And when they went to Spain it felt like it was kinda rushed a little. But when they went to Spain it was cute. Like when they both confessed their feelings to each other. And the little soccer game they had and Aaron pick her up.
But it also has a part where the two were finna do the devil's tango and Aaron says the most disturbing thing someone cant ever say when they were finna do the deed. He said "I want to feel you milk me😼." That was my 13 reason right there.
Also what I meant about the book feeling like it was never going to end was that after they left Spain felt like we started a whole other arc when reading. Like I felt like the book was so unnecessary long. The author gave us a lot for the book to end.
So, would I recommend it? Well, both my friend and I agreed that the book deserves a 3.5, I may recommend it if I remember the book. The book isn't bad it just have a lot unnecessary parts and like it's pretty forgettable if you ask me.

Shatter me
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Synopsis:
Shatter Me is a young adult dystopian thriller written by Tahereh Mafi and published on November 15, 2011. The book is narrated by Juliette, a 17-year-old girl with a lethal touch, and is unusual in that it contains passages and lines that have been crossed out like a diary entry
Tumblr media
Review and Rant *********SPOILERS*********
I really don't have any complaints about the first book other than that it was really slow-paced for me. Like some senses took longer than others like at the end of the book. But other than that the book was fine ill give it 3.5 stars. Also, one thing I liked about the book is Mr. Waner. That man is just so ugh... There aren't enough words in the dictionary to describe why I like this man. The only complaint I had of him is had he did to Juliette at the end of the book and when he brought out a toddler for an experiment.
But there's also Adam Kent. I love him. And idk why people don't like Adam. But I can definitely see why people like Waner.

November 9 by Collen Hoover
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Synopsis:
Fallon meets Ben, an aspiring novelist, the day before her scheduled cross-country move. Their untimely attraction leads them to spend Fallon’s last day in L.A. together, and her eventful life becomes the creative inspiration Ben has always sought for his novel. Over time and amidst the various relationships and tribulations of their own separate lives, they continue to meet on the same date every year. Until one day Fallon becomes unsure if Ben has been telling her the truth or fabricating a perfect reality for the sake of the ultimate plot twist.
Can Ben’s relationship with Fallon—and simultaneously his novel—be considered a love story if it ends in heartbreak?

Review and Rant
*********SPOILERS*********
I didn't like the book. It was too corny, cringy, unreliable, and just abusive. I don't like how the book tried to justify what Ben did to Fallon. Like literally at the end of the book Fallon was reading one of bens notes and the note basically said forgive me but also it's up to you to forgive me but please forgive me. Because my mom killed herself and I thought she killed herself because of your dad. So I decided to burn down his house but I didn't know anyone else was in the house.
When the plot twist happens it makes sense on why Ben like Fallon burns scars so much. It's giving the show "You" but add arson and that would be the book. It also have have a scene where Fallon was trying to leave and Ben literally thought this "I've never wanted to use physical force on a girl before, but I want to push her to the ground and hold her there until the cab drives away." Like, sir be for real.
I just don't like how the author tried to justify abuse. I also don't like how the author tried to be "funny" and "reliable" Like when Ben describes how much he wants to kiss Fallon to blue balls.
It was another scene where Fallon and Ben were making out in Fallon's hallway, her interlock was"Grab my boob, Ben" "He totally reads my mind and grabs my boob." "Grab the other one" "God, he's so telepathic." I can't I just can't anymore.
In conclusion out of five stars, I'll give it 1.5 stars. And Ben is a walking red flag. Like how you going to lie to the girl that is supposed "the love of your life" for FIVE WHOLE YEARS.
