Izumi showed up for like 3 seconds in Korra and all the lesbians fell in love with her. What a power move.

Korra: Asami and I wanted to tell you we’re dating.
Lin: Cool. I’m dating Kya.

Why I Really Enjoyed The Legend of Korra
Since The Legend of Korra has come to Netflix in the United States, I’ve decided to share my seemingly controversial opinion. I love The Legend of Korra. Sure, it isn’t as great at ATLA, as that’s a huge standard to live up to, but it is brilliant in its own way.
I first watched TLOK when I was 14, in the summer of 2016. At the time, I was going through it, my brother having died in the beginning of June. I rewatched ATLA for the first time in years, and decided to watch the second series. I really connected with the stubborn and brazen Avatar, as I was 14 and you know how 14 year olds are.
I loved the environment and the setting of the 20’s, and it even inspired my novel. The setting, to me at least, was much more interesting than it was in the original series. Perhaps I’m just a sucker for big cities, though.
The next part contains spoilers as it discussing specifics of the plot. So if you intend to watch TLOK and have not yet, I advise you to stop reading this.
At the end of season 3, after Korra’s poisoning and almost death, the creators portrayed trauma almost perfectly. I feel like a lot of other shows kind of gloss over a characters trauma and not explore it.
Korra’s frustration with her disability before she regains her ability to walk and bend is very realistic, according to my friend who was paralyzed after an accident for a year.
Korra running from home and trying to not to get noticed is interesting. Having the image of her during the fight with Zaheer haunting her is such a realistic portrayal of PTSD. It takes time to get over trauma.
I wrote this in a rush, so ignore how I didn’t write that much stuff. I hope you enjoyed TLOK like I did, but like do whatever you want.
