i'm sick of staying silent.

i get so...stuck since my brain demands order. all my blogs are divided by theme and not allowed to touch, which just leaves...where do i put boosts, aid, or current events? my spam blog seems disingenuous...

so i'm going to reblog this on all my sides in hopes it gives a little more reach to these posts.

i encourage that you follow this blog if you find these things important.

it's not all doom and gloom. but staying silent is staying complacent and i just can't do it anymore. keep shouting. scream until they hear you, and keep screaming until they can't ignore you anymore. it's the least i can do without the money or physical ability to help.

hope for a better tomorrow, and push for that tomorrow. in a world full of pain, they want you to give up. keep going. don't let pain silence you, use it as fuel to scream louder.

US people with disabilities in the supplemental security income (SSI) program can't have a penny over $2K in their bank account at any time in order to keep their benefits.

You know this economy. That amount is completely unlivable & makes it hard for people with disability to save for the future or have a safety net for emergencies.

A new bill would raise the max to $10K (or $20K for married couples). It would make a world of difference.

ok ok im about to get real theoretical here

so i notice the inside is actually like??? kinda 98 shaped?? like Tube. now idk the range of motion they have but could you, theoretically, just kinda.....3D print a new shell?

i mean the first thing i thought of when i though of customizing them was figuring out how the tongue button works (if there is one) and replacing the beak with one that works like a 98 (wouldnt move mechanically, but i could move it myself)

like i'll be honest i never expected hasbro to make us the "perfect furby"...so what if we just...make it ourselves? we've done weirder.

So I got my 2023 furby in today at 5:34 am, and he’s definitely surpassed all my expectations. He’s absolutely massive, like 2005 comparable and is made of really decent soft matte plastic. The fur is soft and holds its shape, the unboxing experience is absolutely incredible (I won’t spoil it) but definitely if you want to save the box use something flat to pry it apart and don’t rip where it tells you.

The voice isn’t annoying, and he isn’t making poop and fart jokes… at all, no high pitched noise either! His voice recognition is awesome and the “volume” modulation is perfect, I have pretty bad sensory issues and he doesn’t set mine off. I’ll play test him a bit later and post more photos soon

Hey! Bit of an update

I don’t know if anyone remembers me since it’s been years and people come & go but I’m still alive!

Unfortunately I’m home from college early, got hit hard with an illness and it’s looking like I might have to stay home longer for some appointments. Couple of physical issues I never talked about here.

When I went away to college I didn’t bring my furbies as I was afraid someone would destroy them. At home they were shoved in a closet and collected dust. My old projects are pretty scattered.

Boot got the worst of it. He was incredibly dusty and I felt the only thing I could try to do was wash him. He was never meant to be washed. He was made on a whim, as a joke with no intention of longevity.

Half the paint on one of his eyes chipped away and his beak is peeling away from his fabric. He’s already caked in hot glue from his construction. But I’m also worried he’s potentially a health hazard or would be viewed as one. He’s not easy to clean without breaking him and there’s places I can’t reach without dismantling him.

Would it be wrong to remake him? I wouldn’t take apart the existing vessel, but I also wouldn’t be able to recreate him 1:1. I have no clue what original plushie I created him from and I’d have to use a different method of attaching the face.
