Y/n stood outside the large castle nervously. She had been homeschooled up until now. Turning to look back at her parents, she whispered, “Mom… are you sure I’m ready for this? There’s just… a lot of people.”

Belle, her mother, smiled softly as she reached over to fix her daughter’s hair. “Of course you’re ready, sweetheart. You’re such a sweet girl—I’m sure you’ll make lots of friends. Just be yourself.”

Y/n nodded, took a deep breath, and hugged her mom tightly. “Thanks, Mom. I love you. I’ll see you for winter break!”

With that, Y/n walked into the school, doing her best to navigate the long halls as she searched for her room. When she finally found it and stepped inside, she was surprised to see a beautiful girl with bright orange hair sitting on one of the beds, polishing a pair of fancy shoes.

“Uhm… hello…” Y/n said awkwardly.

The girl looked up and gasped with excitement. She jumped to her feet and greeted Y/n with a wide smile.

“Hi! You must be my new roommate! I’m Megan Ella, daughter of Cinderella—but you can just call me Megan! Gosh, I’m so excited! I was a little worried I’d be rooming with someone destined for evil…”

Y/n let out a small laugh at Megan’s rambling. “Hi… I’m Y/n. Daughter of Beauty and the Beast. It’s nice to meet you, Megan.”

She reached out and shook her hand politely.

“Whoa—so, are you going to marry a beast after you sign the Book of Legends?” Megan asked curiously.

Y/n laughed nervously. “Uh… yeah, I guess I am.”

Megan sat down at her vanity, starting to fix her hair. “You know, there’s this one girl who said she isn’t signing the Book of Legends. She wants to follow her own destiny or whatever—but honestly, it’s kind of selfish if you think about it! You’ve heard of Karina Queen, right? Well, she’s supposed to poison Winter White, but she doesn’t want to be an evil queen like her mom! But if she doesn’t do it, she’s totally ruining Winter’s destiny.”

Y/n listened as Megan gossiped, quietly unpacking her things. “Wait… she just chose not to sign the Book? I didn’t know people could do that…”

Megan chuckled. “They’re not supposed to. Karina’s just a true rebel—whether she wants to be or not. Either way, she’s hurting Winter.”

Megan shrugged and went back to organizing her own things.

At Lunch

Y/n walked into the cafeteria and found an empty table. She sat down with her book and a plate of apple slices. As she read silently, she didn’t notice two girls sitting across from her—Karina Queen and Haewon Hatter.

Still engrossed in her book, she only looked up when Haewon spoke. “Hey there! I’m Haewon—and this is Karina!”

Y/n jumped slightly, then giggled. “Hi… I’m Y/n. Sorry, I was really into my book.”

She looked at Karina and smiled kindly. “Karina Queen… it’s nice to meet you. I heard about what you did at Legacy Day rehearsal. That was really brave. I think you’re doing the right thing—for yourself.”

Karina blushed slightly. “Thank you, Y/n.”

Before Y/n could say anything else, her cousin Yuna approached the table. “Hi, Y/n! My mom said I should show you around campus!”

She glanced down at Karina and Haewon and gave them a smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes. “Why don’t you come sit with me and my friends, Y/n? I have so much to catch you up on!”

Before Y/n could protest, Yuna was already leading her away.

In the Courtyard

Y/n was once again sitting quietly with her book, but peace didn’t last long. She was interrupted by a charming girl and a charming boy—Daniela Charming and Hyunjin Charming.

“Hyunjin, not every new girl is going to fall at your feet,” Daniela teased with a smirk.

Hyunjin chuckled. “Oh yeah? Watch this.”

He walked over with a confident, dazzling smile—one Y/n wasn’t about to fall for.

“Hey, princess, I—”

Y/n cut him off. “No thanks. I’m not interested.”

Daniela burst out laughing while Hyunjin’s smile faltered into a cute pout.

“Sorry,” Y/n added gently, “but I should probably focus on getting used to this new school first.”

Hyunjin nodded, trying to hide his embarrassment. “Ah… I get it. Well, I’ll see you around.”

He turned and walked away quickly. Daniela stayed behind, grinning.

“I think I’m going to like you. Hopefully I’ll see you later.”

She winked charmingly and strolled off.

Y/n sighed, glancing around. This school is weird…
