I so rarely ever use filters on my pictures— I’ll edit the brightness and sharpness a bit but I don’t put a whole filter on. Usually. But I was taking pics the other day and accidentally used one and I was like, “Holy hell, I am BEAUTIFUL.” (So modest, even in my head.) But while I love these first two pics, I know they aren’t real. My skin isn’t that blurred and I have some big WTF lines on my forehead. I don’t fault anyone for using filters or editing pictures— there is really an art to it, and one I’m trying to improve. I was SO excited to use all these bronze-y tones today. ✨✨✨ That shadow in the black compact was one of @patmcgrathreal ‘s first single shadows from a very early release called Bronze 005 Cream. I also love that @hourglasscosmetics Scattered Light shadow in Foil and the @urbandecaycosmetics Heavy Metals liner in Starfire. I used them alllll today, in conjunction with the @natashadenona Biba palette. A group I work with had an “80s Day” and I asked no follow-up questions, just immediately went home and dig up my Barbie record earring from my jewelry archives. (Sadly only the one remains.) You may have noticed that posting on this feed (and regular blogs) slowed down. It was due to a combination of things - stress from my job but also just general makeup fatigue. However, the @anastasiabeverlyhills x @jackieaina palette caught my eye and has been inspiring me so much. The color palette is just so interesting and fun, and I want to just DIG INTO IT whenever I see it. . . The packaging is just so fun and gorgeous, but the shadows are just so beautiful. The pinks/red are totally my vibe but the shimmers are just ALL so gorgeous and I want to BATHE in them. . . I am really into the browns in this palette— Credit is a dark brown that has a touch of purple, which mixes so nicely with pinks, but also coordinates so well with Lituation, the taupe-y shimmer. Edges and Ginger are great shades for a neutral eye or warming up something a bit more dramatic. (Like with Sponsored, what a fantastic multi-chrome brownish green shimmer!) . . I’ve been having fun playing with the new @colourpopcosmetics Exes and Oh’s palette so I had to snap a few casual (well-lit) selfies. (Portable lighting is key. Bonus points if it’s the shape of a cat, like mine.) I’ll probably post another lewk in my stories so make sure you check there, too! ... Lewk deets: I used Stay Golden (mauve-y rose, not gold at all) in crease. Then I used Easy Go (metallic red) all over the lid. Added Smitten (duochrome orange-y pink) in middle of lid. I used Reckless (plummy Brown) along bottom lashline, and a bit on the outer corner of lid, blended out with Stay Golden. ... Also featured, my fave lipgloss by @doseofcolors in Almond Butter. Ok, I’ll admit it. I bought this @colourpopcosmetics @ultabeauty exclusive Exes and Oh’s (❌ & ⭕️) palette for the packaging. But I think this is going to be one of those palettes I get a lot of use out of, even tho it looks similar to things I have already. I call this one, “Trying To Take A Good Makeup Selfie In An Uber.” 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ . .
