THG Sapphics Week 2025 begins June 28th and concludes July 3rd!

You can create any type of fanworks: fanfictions, headcanons, incorrect quotes, meta/analysis, smaus, fanarts, playlists, aesthetics, moodboards, gifsets, edits, videos, manips,… literally anything - the only limit is your imagination!

Don’t be scared If you can’t do every day, tune in whenever you want to! Even just one day!

We came up with a list of prompts for each day, but you are all welcome to mix and match to suit your own ideas!

You can choose just one, do both, create something only loosely ib it, whatever you want to!

I think, as a Fandom, we don't talk about how homesick and lonely Johanna is. Yes, her anger is a core part of her character, but it's not the only part of her. There was no one desperate to rescue her like Annie and Peeta. The closest thing she has to family in 13 is Finnick and Katniss, or at least that's what Haymitch says. She has no one and nothing from home. She was tortured for weeks to near death, then when she was rescued, she had very, very little support.

Did she have a mentor who tried to protect her, or were they completely checked out? Has she had anyone to protect her since her family died?

Do you think during her breakdown in the block test, she was crying for her mom and/or dad? Did she wake up alone when first brought to 13? Did she wish she had her own bedding and blankets from 7 while recovering from her injuries? Is she mean to push people away because she is afraid to loss even more people?

She's been through so, so much. She is more than an angry "mean" girl. She is constantly being pushed to her limit and going through unimaginable events.

Haymitch Abernathy

Not much is known about who he was before coming to New Hanover - his youth, his family, and his name are all things he refuses to talk about. What is known is that he spent some time as a migrant worker, travelling the states until he eventually came into the employ of government official Coriolanus Snow as a gun-for-hire. Snow later granted him a homestead in Cumberland Forest, in what would become a precursor to the General Allotment Act.

Despite the close proximity and occasional trades with the Wapiti tribe, Haymitch rebuffs all offers of community, preferring to spend his days in solitude. Recently, however, Katniss has strongarmed her way into his life, using his house as a base of operations whether he wants her to or not.

Johanna Yau

Yau Qiuyue was born and raised in West Elizabeth to a railroad worker and his wife, until the Chinatown they lived in was burned down by locals. Qiuyue was one of the few survivors, taken to be sold to a brothel; the men were found dead a few days later with a hatchet buried so deep in one man's skull they couldn't pull it out. She reappeared travelling under the name Johanna Yau with a bounty hunter, Haymitch Abernathy, who took her under his wing and taught her how to handle firearms.

These days she's something of a local legend - a vigilante who wipes out gangs and deals brutal justice to those who target immigrant workers. Known as The Dragoness of West Elizabeth, she is sometimes accompanied by the woman journalist Cressida Mason, who chronicles (and embellishes) her deeds. They make for an odd couple, preferring each other's company to that of any hopeful suitors.

Euphemia Trinket

A somewhat naïve secretary of Snow's who was tasked with monitoring his investment in the new allotment project, Euphemia is required to make fortnightly checkups and send reports on Haymitch's progress with the homestead. The position, while offering more freedom and independence than she might find otherwise, is not without its downsides - the fashion and culture of New Hanover is severely lacking in her eyes, and she misses the hustle and bustle of Blackwater.

Originally, Effie believed that what they were doing was essential to the betterment of their native neighbours and their introduction into Civilised Society, but she is beginning to have doubts after seeing the true extent of Haymitch's depression and the living conditions on the nearby reservation.

Primrose

Sister and polar opposite to Katniss, Primrose is a sweet girl with a sunny disposition, growing into a fine healer under the tutelage of her mother. She's also an accomplished sewist who is fascinated by 'modern' fashion, and enjoys blending outside and Wapiti influences into her own clothing whenever she can. She sometimes offers to work on Effie's as well in exchange for fashion plates and fabrics from the city.

Despite her gentle manner, however, Prim is deeply stubborn and fiercely devoted to her tribe and family. She thinks Katniss' idea of shipping her off to some random faraway city is the stupidest thing she's ever heard, and isn't afraid to fight her sister every step of the way.

I genuinely thought I posted this like forever ago but I guess i didn't lol, anyway, here is my absolute favorite hunger games oc of mine. I adore her and she's my baby.

There is so stuff I forgot to put on her actual ref sheet, her mom was covey and her dad was a poet. They both got very sick just before she was born. Her mom died shortly after giving birth to her before she could even name her. Her dad knew about the tradition of Covey naming but he couldn’t find a poem that seemed quite right so he wrote one himself. His grandfather was named Dylan and was the one to teach him how to read and write when he had to work in slaughter house when he should have been in school as a kid. Him being a such and important part of his life he wanted to honor him in the poem. May is for may green.

She doesn’t know much about the Covey and her mom was one of the very, very few left in 10.

She had to start working in a slaughterhouse very young, and like her dad she didn’t really get to go to school when she should have. Her education is very poor, she can’t really read or write but after the war she is determined to learn to. Once she does she can’t really put a book down. Despite her bad education she is in fact extremely smart. (Johanna also taught her how to read and write)

Seriously one of the kindest people, she sees a lot of the good in Johanna that others don’t. She makes Johanna feel very safe and loved, and Johanna is unusually nice to her.

I made her because sometimes you just gotta make your favorite character a wife, so yeah she is in fact Johanna’s wife.

I think Johanna deserves a good ending, I have free will so I will give her one myself.

I feel like Johanna is the type of person to say she likes animals better than people and she completely means it

Headcanons plus explaining the pets more ⬇️

I headcanon that she always wanted pets but have any before she was reaped because it would have been to expensive for her family and then after her Hunger Games she knew that Snow would use a pet against and she didn't want to end up with him killing something she loved again.

Admiral- the first pet she adopted, she found him abandoned in a house in the capital while she was wandering around. She took him back with her to the presidential manor. He saves her from herself and becomes the biggest source of comfort to her. He's very attached to her and very sweet. He thinks he's a much smaller dog than he is and will sit in her lap even though he's too big

Noodles- her second pet and the only one of the three she named herself. She is absolutely the kind of person to give her pets weird names. She found her in a dumpster in 4 as a kitten. Just a little weirdo, she'll just start biting your fingers for fun. But also a great mouser. Based on my own cat Wednesday.

Lucy- the third pet she abopts. She was neglected by her former owners who moved to 12 from 1. Johanna found her wandering around thr rubble. Thinking she was just lost she took her back to her owners who offered her to her and Johanna immediately took her home. Lucy is very sweet and follows Johanna around and is obsessed with Noodles. Johanna gives her former owners dirty looks every time she seems them (Peeta had to talk her down from axing them lol) She's named after my grandparents old dog who was also a border collie

I think Johanna ends up have more pets over her life time but these are the first three and also the ones who changed her life for the best
